How do I register for BMAT – October?

When do I register?

If you are applying for a place at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) in Singapore, you will need to take BMAT – October. LKCMedicine is a joint medical school between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Imperial College London.

If you are attending a school in the Singapore school system (see list below), or have graduated from one in the last year, please contact the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre to register for the test: www.relc.org.sg/bmat.

The test helps LKCMedicine to select students with the potential to succeed on a challenging medical degree.

Your centre needs to register you. Registration opens on 1 September 2019 and the standard entry deadline is 1 October 2019, so speak to your centre as early as possible. Late registrations are accepted until 15 October 2019. There is an additional fee for this, so ask your centre to register you for the test well before the standard registration deadline.

What’s in the test?

BMAT – October tests you on subjects and skills that you should already be familiar with. It is a 2-hour pen-and-paper test in three sections. Test section

Shows you can:

1. Aptitude and Skills: 1 hour (35 multiple-choice questions)

• solve problems • understand arguments • analyse data and make inferences.

2. Scientific Knowledge and Applications: 30 minutes (27 multiple-choice questions)

• apply what you have learned from studying non-specialist Science and Mathematics at school.

3. Writing Task: 30 minutes (one writing task from a choice of three)

• select, develop and organise ideas • communicate effectively in writing and present your ideas clearly and concisely.

When do I take BMAT – October? The test takes place on 30 October 2019.

How much does the test cost? For current entry fees, contact your test centre. You may also need to pay your centre an administrative fee. Speak directly with your centre to confirm costs and payment details. What if I need Access Arrangements? Access Arrangements are available if you have a disability or special requirement, and are normally entitled to support for exams. You need to inform your centre of any special requirements when they register you for the test. They will ask for full details and a copy of your medical evidence. Requests for modified question papers must be submitted by your centre by 27 September 2019. What support is available for BMAT – October? You will find a wide range of free support materials on our website, including resources for Sections 1, 2 and 3 and practice papers.
