THIS COLLECTION OF IMAGES SHOWING SEQUENCES, PATTERNS AND REPETITION IS A MORE FOCUSED PRESENTATION OF MY IDEAS I AND THE TYPE OF PHOTOS I WOULD LIKE TO PRODUCE EVENTUALLY

SEQUENCE PHOTOGRAPHY IS A GROUPS OF IMAGES THAT NEED TO BE VIEWED IN A CERTAIN ORDER TO MAKE SENSE, IT ALLOWS PHOTOGRAPHERS TO CONVEY MOVEMENT IN A WAY THAT ISN'T POSSIBLE IN A SINGLE SHOT. IF YOU LOSE ONE OF THE IMAGES THE SEQUENCE DOESN'T WORK. THE IMAGES COULD TELL A STORY, CREATE THE SENSE OF MOTION OR SHOW THE PASSING OF TIME. THE TECHNIQUE INVOLVES SHOOTING A SERIES OF RAPID-FIRE PHOTOS THAT CAPTURE A SUBJECT IN SUCCESSIVE MOTIONS.

MY WORK:

THIS WAS A DESIGN PROJECT FROM THE FIRST YEAR OF A-LEVELS WHERE WE INVESTIGATED THE MID CENTURY DESIGN MOVEMENT AND THE DESIGNERS DURING THIS PERIOD WITH THE END GOAL BEING TO CREATE A WALL HOOK.

The top right set of drawers are wider with larger drawers and different shaped drawers, the bottom left, although have the same amount of drawers, all have the same sized drawers. With the larger set of drawers, the user have more options of what they can use the drawers for. These Helps you organise a range of everything.

While practical, these sets of drawers are fairly boring and plain.

William Morris was a British textile designer, poet, novelist, translator, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production.

William Morris

William Morris’ work reflects the environmental side of the project with his use of nature as a theme
I chose William Morris because of the theme of his work being nature focused as it reflects the environmental side of the design spec.
I like this artist because although his work is busy and quite crowded, it is also fairly neutral with the colours he uses, as they are quite muted colours. I also like the range of designs he does using different shapes and colours.
Both of these products are very straightforward and simplistic which is a true reflection of the majority of IKEAs products
The average price of small storage is around £15 -£20
The product descriptions clarifies that: Product is possible to recycle or use for energy recovery, if available in your community.
100% renewable material. Every Part of the products are made with Birch plywood, this adding to the sustainability of the products.

3rd Party Feedback
From the feedback i received about the final card model design i know i need to make the designs colours and add a pattern to be more similar to the arts and craft movements but the feedback about the shape of the design was positive and connected the shape to william morris’ designs.

I made a 3D final design out of card to show what the end design will look like, the size of it and how it would work. This was successful as the design worked as a 3D model and fit the brief i had.

For making the design finally in wood i would use a recycled plywood as it is sturdy but cheap for what it would be used for, it would also be suitable for IKEAS goal of by 2030, 100% of the IKEA products will be made from recycled or renewable materials.

To make my 3rd angle orthographic drawing on 3D design i started by using the path tool to go over the main leaf shape for the plan view, i then made dashed lines coming from where any edges or curves were so i could use them as a guide for the front and side views.
