ABOUT ME

I am an Architecture student at South Dakota State University, committed to bringing both creativity and precision to my work. My strong work ethic drives me to dedicate the necessary hours to excel in my projects. I am proficient in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, Enscape, and blender, which enables me to contribute effectively to architectural projects. My goal is to leverage these skills and experiences as I seek opportunities for growth through an internship.

Hands on Experience

I believe understanding construction is essential to good design. Gaining hands-on experience taught me how structural details come together, helping me create designs that are both functional and practical to build. This knowledge allows me to develop thoughtful, well-rounded architectural solutions.

Sophmore Year Project

Steel Concrete Wood

Design Concept

This project explores the design of a community-focused event center, envisioned as a versatile space for weddings, meetings, and various gatherings. The central concept emphasizes connectivity to the surrounding environment, providing guests with a stunning view of the nearby river as they enjoy their events.

Sophmore Year Project

Program Highlights

Main Floor:

The ground level serves as the primary event space, featuring a flexible layout to accommodate tables and chairs. Key amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, a bar for guest services, and dedicated changing rooms for wedding parties.

Second Floor:

The upper level houses two offices and multiple conference rooms, supporting professional and community needs.

The design integrates functional program elements with a focus on creating a welcoming and adaptable venue for diverse community activities.

Design Positions

Seamless Connectivity:

Optimize flow by placing related spaces in close proximity, like kitchens near gardens or study rooms near educational zones.

Courtyard Centrality: Design around a central courtyard to enhance natural light, greenery, and connectivity.

Sustainable Design: Use eco-friendly features like natural insulation, solar energy, and green roofs.

Multi-functional Spaces: Include versatile rooms for community events and meetings.

Concept Sketches

Throughout this project, I used sketching to explore and refine design concepts. Sketching allowed me to experiment visually and develop key ideas that were incorporated into the final design. This hands-on approach remains one of my favorite tools for combining creativity with problem-solving in architecture.

Presence Sketches

Florida Ocala Nature and Habitat Center

Junior Year Project

This project focuses on addressing deforestation by creating a building that provides natural habitats for birds. The design includes nesting spaces, native plants, and feeding areas to support bird populations and biodiversity. It also serves the community by offering an educational space to raise awareness about conservation and the importance of protecting wildlife. This project demonstrates how architecture can solve environmental issues while benefiting the community.

Materials

3d printed concrete wood planks and tile timber framing

Process Work

I sketched ideas for solving envirnmental solutions such as climate change, deforestation, and sustainable rain water collection. Then I incorporated the sollutions into the building design.
