LEADERSHIP

New Leader Workshop This two-day course provides new leaders, managers, and supervisors with the foundational skills to drive performance and manage day-to-day operations. The course begins with an industry-renowned behavioral assessment and discussion of one’s management style, then interactive exercises and skill-practice will provide participants with the opportunity to develop competency in the following management skills: time management, delegating tasks, communication, coaching, change management, managing conflict and measuring performance. Audience: This course is intended for supervisor and managers who are new to leading others, or those who would like a refresher in basic management practices. Outcomes: • Understand the role of the manager versus an individual contributor • Capitalize on the strengths of their management style as well as identify possible challenges and areas of development • Utilize techniques to manage conflicting priorities • Identify tasks that can and should be delegated and the appropriate support to follow-up and ensure completion • Discuss different communication styles and how to effectively delivery clear and concise messages that prompt action • Use coaching techniques to analyze the causes of low performance and continue to motivate high performers • Create a plan to implement and manage change • Productively navigate beyond conflict and create an environment of support • Successfully host a performance management conversation with your direct reports Prerequisite: None CRN: #88560 DATE

Advanced Administrative Professionals Workshop This two-day course provides high-performing and long-term administrative professionals with the next level of skill development. The workshop begins with an industry-renowned behavioral assessment and discussion of one’s strengths and potentials areas of development. Interactive exercises and skill-practice will provide participants with development in the following competency areas: project management, communication, conflict management, financial acumen, navigating change, and problem solving. Audience: This course is intended for high-performing administrative professionals who are interested in developing business skills – Note: This is not a technical course and does not focus on computer skills.
