Inspired Mirrored Christmas Tree . .

see resource page All About the Table Magazine-2022- December Special Issue-10

DIY Mirrored Christmas Tree Supplies Needed: 1/2" plywood, 6-12" x 12" mirrored tiles, tile adhesive or mirror mastic, hammer, chalk, large sponge, gloves, safety glasses, bright white sanded grout, putty knife, picture hanging wire and silver D hook hangers.

. .

Determine size of wall hanging, this one is 3' x 4'. Cut plywood the size needed, build a frame on back side. Attach wire and ring hooks for hanging. Paint sides white with acrylic paint. No need to paint the entire board. Wear safety glasses & heavy duty gloves. Wrap small towel around hammer, carefully break mirror tile. A center strike with hammer will give you curved pieces. Find center of board vertical & horizontally with chalk, sketch shape of tree. Position mirrored pieces following sketch leaving spaces between each piece. Butter the pieces with tile adhesive and attach to board. Allow to dry 24 hours. Mix sanded grout with water in large bucket per package instructions.

With large spoon, drop grout on board.Cover entire board with grout. Smooth grout with wet large sponge. Remove grout off mirror pieces before it sets up. Once grout is even and smooth, let it dry 24 hours or longer before hanging.Add bling using E-6000 to attach crushed leftover mirror pieces or purchase crystals.

Santa's Favorite Loves... Santa was on his way to North Carolina to select a Christmas tree for Mrs. Claus and the elves at the North Pole. Since he knows along the route who has the best cookies and hot chocolate he decided to stop in Upper East Tennessee for some cookies and cup or two of hot chocolate. Santa said, "Liz always makes my favorites, even cookies that look like me! And while I am here, I will make sure to get there Christmas lists and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!"

Christmas Tree Cutting Tailgate On a snow blustery Saturday morning a few weeks before Christmas, we bundle up in winter jackets, hats and gloves and of course boots, for a traditional Christmas tree hunting adventure. With a packed wicker basket, blankets and a thermos full of hot Caramel Almond Mocha, we jumped in the truck and headed for the tree cutting farm in North Carolina. As we arrive at the farm, families of all ages were already dragging cut evergreens down the snow packed trail. Some families have their trees mounted to their cars and trunks open for tailgating. Now, we must decide… do we look for the tree first or do we tailgate? The decision is made to enjoy our tailgate before heading to the rows of snow-flocked evergreens. The plan is to find a Frasier Fir, some garland and a couple of wreaths to take home. We are so excited about finding the perfect tree with all the trimmings and enjoying our warm & cozy tailgate.

Awe.. the Smell of Fresh Cut Evergreen

Whether nestled under snow covered branches or sitting on a Tailgate This menu will keep you warm and cozy. All About the Table Magazine-2022- December Special Issue-21

All Spruced Up...for Christmas! With boxes of Christmas decor waiting to make their long awaited debut take a moment to think of creative ways to spruce up your home for the holidays by making something old-new again. Create the beauty of Christmas with a few simple decor ideas. Decorating our homes for Christmas is one of the greatest joys of the season, but if you’ re like most of us, we want a little something new each year to make our home warm and welcoming. Take a look at the following options. All About the Table Magazine-2022- December Special Issue-26

Candles Gather greenery from the yard to form a ring, add candles and place on a decorative plate. Freshen old candles with new shimmer and shine with a bit of glue and glitter. Wrap pillar candles in painters tape; glue the exposed areas and coat with coordinating glitter, red on red, silver on silver or as desired. If the candlewick is burned beyond recognition, cut it down and fit the candle with a LED tea light. You will be able to reuse the candle for seasons to come.

Fancy Fold & Settings Deck out your table with a festive napkin fold. Learn how to make a napkin look like a Christmas tree or other holiday fold. Mix and match last year’s dinnerware with new pristine white dinner plates and add a color coordinated charger. Tap on linked photo. All About the Table Magazine-2022- December Special Issue-28

Pillows & Packages Layer ribbon on packages and pillows. Pretend your pillow is a package and tie a giant ribbon bow in a bright color to the center. For this bow and other packaging, choose wired edged ribbon in a color to match your room décor. Cozy up a sofa or bed with these festive pillow packages of color. Cover old pillows with purchased pillow covers. Many patterns are available and they are simple to use.Un-zip and insert the pillow, re-zip and go!

Garlands

Twist two thin faux garlands together to make one full garland; fill with fresh pine pieces to make it look full and smell like fresh pine. Spray essential pine oil or cinnamon oil on the branches for the smells of Christmas if needed.Consider hanging a garland on your bed frame in addition to the mantel, staircase and door frames. Flock it for snowy feel. Sno-floc is great. All About the Table Magazine-2022- December Special Issue-27

Yuletide Signage Purchase a framed print of your favorite yuletide saying and attach two cabinet door handles to the sides and create a tray.

Embellish the framed print with cut-out contact paper stars or additional designs that are inside the print. Remove peel & stick in place. Lean this signage on your mantel, in a bathroom or use as a serving tray. The glass from the framed print will keep your artwork protected. While you are sprucing up your home for Christmas; imagine your tree trimmed and twinkling, your candles glittered and gleaming, all of your gifts purchased, wrapped and holiday baking is ready to serve. With these ideas and inspiration your home will be decked out in no time!

All About the Table Magazine-2022- December Special Issue-38

The Perfect Gift God’s precious gift to us for all time. For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah). Luke 2:11 AMP Just like my heavenly Father, I love giving gifts. Christmastime sends me looking for the perfect surprise for each person on my list. I don’t want to scoop up the first thing I come to and hand it to them in a gift-bag (yep, I’m a gift bag giver). I want the present to be something the recipient can really use instead of having them mumble a quick, “Thanks, you shouldn’t have.”- and then shove it to the back of a closet shelf for later White Elephant giving. I will stalk thrift stores and half-off sales for the perfect meaningful gift. I want to give a gift of worth, but I can’'t always spend the big bucks on each person. My inner sleuth sends me on the hunt for unique finds in boutiques and thrift shops. I want to give a treasure each one will cherish. Craft shows also inspire me. I’ll see a neat creation at a festival and decide to make all my gifts. Surely the giftee would treasure something made with my own two hands. Original and meaningful is the best, right? A store-bought, mass-produced bauble can’'t possibly top something home-made from the heart with a little glue on top. When my creative wheels start turning, I pull out my tackle-turned-crafting box and get to work. Over the years, I’'ve managed a few creations worthy of actual gift-giving. My efforts are heartfelt, but my work leaves a little to be desired. I’m creative, but not necessarily crafty.
