COLLEGE PROSPECTUS
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate for eternity and equip for life, through knowing Christ and making Him known, developing character and pursuing excellence.
Christ Character Excellence
My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

As a Christian community, we approach schooling from a distinctly Christian approach and seek to live the way of Jesus.
Flourishing at Livingstone means that we:
Strive to provide an environment that is warm and caring, whilst ensuring high standards of respect and conduct.
Believe in the intentional development of individual character which fosters a positive and peaceful culture.
Pursue excellence in academics through the development of diligence, responsibility and confidence in our students, led by dedicated and well-equipped Christian teachers.
Teach from a Biblical Christian perspective and foster the development of faith in our students, which leads to service for God and others.
Provide a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to encourage creative passion and performance and the expression and development of talent and gifts.
Thank you for your consideration of Livingstone as a place which can support your family in the very important schooling years. My prayer and purpose is that our graduating students will be the kind of men and women that make a positive contribution to our society through their faith, character and capabilities.

Character Development
At Livingstone we aim to shape our student’s character with values that support them to have individual success, as well as being a positive contributor to the College community. Our SHAPE values are:
Self-control
Is the ability to regulate emotions, thoughts and actions in such a way that our choices support positive relationships and achievement.
Humility
Is the quality of having a modest view of one’s own importance. While we believe that every child at Livingstone is of great importance, humility counters selfishness and pride.
Achievement
We believe that each child is created by God with incredible potential and that school is a place to formally pursue improvement and achievement in everything that is placed in front of us – our work, our play, our relationships.
Perseverance
Is the capacity to persist in doing what is good despite difficulty or delay. We recognise that things of value usually take lots of time and hard work.
Encouragement
We believe that there is value and power in being part of an encouraging community. Encouragement is building others up and giving others courage to belong, persevere and achieve.
Faith Development
Our dedicated ministry team support the flourishing of our children socially, emotionally and spiritually. Students engage with biblical studies curriculum and they are also encouraged and developed through weekly student led Chapel services, mentoring programs and visiting speakers from local churches and Christian organisations.
Students are given the opportunity to serve and be involved in these programs and are also encouraged to undertake mentoring programs to become inspiring leaders themselves.
The ultimate goal of the work of the ministry is that each child at Livingstone, discovers the God given meaning to life and their purpose within it.
Early Learning
Our Early Learning Centre provides a head start to your child’s learning journey at Livingstone Christian College, offering quality education and care for children from 6 weeks to Pre-Prep. We believe that each child is a unique and wonderful creation of God and count it a blessing to partner with families in nurturing children during their earliest years.
We seek to lay strong foundations for school readiness and positive life outcomes. Through playful engagement in age-appropriate programs, children develop cognitive, social, emotional, physical and faith understandings. Learning and development are enriched through responsive connections with Educators, Early Childhood Teachers and involvement in the College community.
Pre-Prep children are inspired to be active and engaged learners as they prepare for a smooth transition to Primary school. Children increasingly engage in collaborative play, intentional learning, inquiry projects, early literacy and early numeracy. School readiness is enhanced through regular visits to the Library, Foundation Chapel and Agriculture Centre, as well as the provision of Chinese (Mandarin) Language and Sport and Health Programs. These experiences support children to develop positive attitudes and perceptions towards school and a love of learning.
Primary
Our Primary School encompasses students in the Foundation Years (Prep-Year 2) and Intermediate Years (Years 3-6). We believe that developing the whole child within a well-connected community is key to ensuring each child has rich learning opportunities to thrive in their own unique way, while making a positive contribution to the world around them. Social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is valued throughout the Primary Years as we seek to support students in their application of character development.
We aspire for all students to enjoy and apply learning across a variety of subject areas. As such, we offer a broad range of core academic subjects and co-curricular activities delivered through the context of a Christian worldview. Some of these include Design Technologies, Livingstone Arts Academy, Chinese, Physical Education, Music, Drama/Film Media and Screen Acting, Digital Technologies, and Visual Arts. Additionally, there are a collection of lunchtime and afternoon Clubs for students to enjoy including Choir, Praise and Worship, Elite Running, AFL Actors Alliance and Chess. All students in our Primary School are encouraged to strive for academic excellence and Livingstone’s differentiated curriculum effectively aims to meet the diverse range of students’ learning needs, which are supported by the College’s Enrichment department.
Secondary
Our commitment to nurturing students to be Christ centered young people of good character who desire excellence is at the core of the programs in Secondary. We aim to develop confident citizens, leaders and employees of tomorrow - in academics and industry who have the capacity to care for others and the environment.
Years 7, 8 and 9 is a period of significant change for young people. Students are provided with opportunities to reach their potential and to explore subjects to best position them for their future pathway choices. Subjects are based on the Australian Curriculum and are delivered through a Christian lens which educates for eternity and provides a spirit of intellectual honesty and inquiry.
Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 are provided opportunities for increasing responsibility for their individual future academic program and personal development. The College is committed to offering a breadth of opportunities to students in order to meet the varied needs of young people, the conditions of the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and tertiary entrance requirements, as well as alternative training pursuits and apprenticeship or traineeship entry.
Whilst the focus is on developing a strong academic culture, there is also a desire to develop young people of good character. Students in all year levels have opportunities to participate in camps, leadership programs, clubs and performing arts events. We recognise that every student can achieve success and share the responsibility with families and students for assisting each student in attaining their individual goals.
Performing Arts
Livingstone Performing Arts is a thriving hub of activity offering innovative Prep to Year 12 curriculum and industry-professional tuition through Livingstone Arts Academy, as well as a growing extra-curricular portfolio to extend and enrich students in all performance disciplines. Performing Arts at Livingstone offers a broad range of programs including dance, drama, music, instrumental and vocal tuition, choirs and ensembles.
Livingstone Performing Arts seeks to inspire our College and the broader community through the example of our Creator - God, skilled educators and passionately engaged students to strive for excellence and to create, nurture and develop the cultural heart-beat of the College through encouraging a collective appreciation of the Arts with an eternal focus.
Sport

Our internal College sporting events are organised around four houses: Ephesian, Romans, Corinthians and Galatians. As a College, we run three major school carnivals per year: swimming, cross country and athletics, as well as a range of other smaller interhouse competitions throughout the year.
Students have the opportunity to represent the College in interschool weekly fixtures throughout the year from Years 4-6 (NGCAS – Northern Gold Coast Associated Schools) and Years 7-12 (AGCC - Association of Gold Coast Colleges). The sports played at Livingstone include AFL, Basketball, Soccer, Futsal, Touch, Netball, Volleyball, Oz tag and Tennis. In addition to these regular fixtures, we enter teams in peak Queensland competitions in the sports of AFL, Soccer, Touch, Basketball and Netball.
Students also have the opportunity to trial in a broad range of sports through South Coast School Sports and are able to progress through the District levels, Regional, Queensland, right up to National level.
Our Vision
At Livingstone Christian College, our vision for every child is that they would flourish in Christ, character and excellence.
