On the Global Reef Expedition—the largest coral reef survey and mapping expedition in history—an international team of scientists set out to assess the health and resiliency of coral reefs in the Cook Islands. They worked closely with local partners and government officials from the Cook Islands and the Cook Islands Marine Park Steering Committee to gather the highest quality data of the coral reefs surrounding Rarotonga, Aitutaki, and Palmerston Atoll. The Global Reef Expedition: Cook Islands Final Report provides a comprehensive summary of the Foundation’s research findings from the Expedition along with recommendations for preserving Cook Island’s reefs for the use and enjoyment of future generations.
