The amazing City of Liverpool
Welcome to Liverpool. From world-famous architecture, magnificent museums and music legends revolutionising popular culture, Liverpool has always been a hub of creativity. Through spectacular festivals, dramatic sporting attractions and unique art, the city continues to be a gateway for UK culture, attracting millions of visitors every year.

By Time Out Liverpool named 7th best city in the world 2024
Music and entertainment
It’s impossible to imagine Liverpool without music – or music without Liverpool. Birthplace of The Beatles, the UNESCO City of Music is home to a host of first-class festivals and concerts.

Liverpool caters to all music tastes, with small intimate venues featuring up-and-coming bands, while the M&S Bank Arena has been graced by artists such as Lewis Capaldi, The 1975, and Elton John. The arena is host to major entertainment events, including the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Anfield Stadium has welcomed global mega-stars, including Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour in 2024.
Liverpool has a thriving nightlife from themed bars to independent venues offering everything from rooftop views to speakeasy vibes right through to food and drink markets and comedy clubs.
One of the city’s most exciting areas is the Baltic Triangle. At the heart of Liverpool’s independent scene, this former factory and workshop district is constantly evolving as new cafés, clubs and live music venues emerge.
Culture
Liverpool’s many art galleries range from the Walker, which contains one of Europe’s most outstanding
collections of fine and decorative art, to Tate Liverpool, one of the largest galleries of modern and contemporary art outside London. Liverpool Empire Theatre attracts all the latest touring theatre productions, while the Playhouse, Everyman, Royal Court and Unity theatres offer a rich and varied programme of classic and contemporary productions.
The city also boasts an array of world-class museums, including the International Slavery Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum, World Museum and the Museum of Liverpool.
Sport
With the Grand National, golf and –of course – football, there are plenty of sporting events to keep even the most avid sports fan entertained. Liverpool is home to two Premier League football teams; what better place to come to watch the match?
Shopping
The 42-acre Liverpool One development provides a stunning shopping complex in the heart of the city. Liverpool also has a range of vibrant independent retailers, and student-friendly shops offering oneof-a-kind pieces and vintage finds. Shopping destinations such as the Trafford Centre and Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet are under an hour’s drive away.
