Laura Burbery founded Little Belle after discovering a gap in the market for quality children’s nightlights. “I called the brand Little Belle because it resonates with what we do – creating beautiful lights for little people,” says Laura. “My four-year-old daughter was the inspiration behind the design. She loved stories about night time fairies as she drifted off to sleep and I wanted a quality light that I could leave on for her all night.” To truly understand the Little Belle light, you need to think back to the vintage ceramic night light you saw as a child in your grandmother’s house – the type that had you staring in awe with your imagination running wild. These lights were sustainably made and can still be found in rooms of their great grandchildren. Made from porcelain, Laura is keeping centuries of tradition alive and only works with the best crafts people to produce her lights. “Many hands are used to create each light and no two are alike. So much care and detail goes into making and individually decorating the lights, they are a true keepsake in every way,” says Laura, “they are as much a pleasure to give as they are to receive”. Lit by a life long LED bulb, the lights are designed to comfort and reassure children as they drift off to sleep or wake at night. Calling upon fairies as children go to sleep at night is a psychologist endorsed method to help them relax into a good night of sleep.
