he Five P’s to Becoming a professional Model

We’ve all seen modelling shows like American’s Top Model and Project Runway which showcase the glamour of the modelling world but to make it as a top model takes more than just a pretty face and a beautiful body.

Like any job, modelling is hard work especially as there’s so much competition out there and with the advent of the internet gone are the days of just being spotted walking down the street nowadays, to become a top model takes discipline and effort so if you're just starting out but want to get ahead of the game, we highlight our five P’s to get you started.

First and foremost be professional return all phone calls promptly and confirm your appointments with your photographers, talent management companies or agents. Arrive to your bookings on time as calling at the last minute with an excuse is not acceptable with texting is a big no-no.

Tip No.2 Portfolio Investing in a good quality portfolio is a must for any wouldbe model as your portfolio is the tools of your trade and the first thing any booking agent see’s. It is essential that you hire a professional photographer to take your shoots as selfies will not do.

Tip No.3 Practise Practice makes perfect.

Seasoned professionals are able to portray the image the campaign is attempting to create. So, practice expressions and poses in the mirror, or in front of a friend's camera until you are able to immediately convey an emotion or strike a pose instantly. If you are just starting out hire a modelling coach as these guys know the ins and outs of the modelling industry and will help guide you through poses and walking.

Stay abreast of the industry becoming a student of fashion and the emerging trends. One easy way to do this is to thumb through fashion magazines and subscribe to industry publications. On a personal basis learn and understand your body find out what cuts fit your body best. Recognize how certain fabrics flow and figure out how to wear unflattering garments well.

The better you are able to present clothing, the more sought after you will become.

Tip No.5 Perseverance Don’t assume that a scout is going to find you. You must seek out opportunities to be seen. Agents and casting directors will not know you exist unless you make yourself visible to them. It may sound harsh but you must think of it as starting a business and be mindful that most businesses fail within five years, so work hard and dedicate yourself to the business and with some luck you will find that being a model is incredibly rewarding and for some very lucrative.

Packed full of vitamins and nutrients the humble tomato is a skincare saviour, rich in lycopene, an antioxidant it can repair damaged skin and restore its natural, healthy glow whilst its acidic and astringent properties make it an excellent ingredient for women with oily and acne prone skin.

Cut a tomato into half and rub it all over the face.

Let it rest for 10-15 minutes and then wash off to get smooth, soft and matte-looking skin.

With regular use, it will address the problem of excessively oily skin and balance your skin’s natural pH level.

A fitness fanatic Anna Durkin favours cardio (like treadmill sprints), spin classes and yoga, which she claims helps her to “relax and refresh” To maintain her slim physique, she favours a healthy diet which consists of having 3-4 glasses of warm water in the morning, followed by cereals and oatmeal for breakfast, grilled veg’s, legumes, and green salads for lunch and a Thai for dinner however like the rest of us she does have a cheat item favouring a Long Island Iced Tea – with a tequila shot chaser!

With her stunning good looks, it seems hard to image that Anna could be single but keen to keep her private life private, Anna has not divulged any details of her boyfriends, but in a recent interview with Maxim Australia when asked What qualities do you look for in a man? she stated that “I think the best quality a man can have is to be funny and loving, as well as humble and down to earth. I can’t stand men who are vain and up themselves. ", That being said I do have a huge girly crush on Holly Maddison, I’ve been obsessed with her since I was in my early teens. I think she is absolutely stunning.”

Represented by Rebels MGMT, Anna is often described as a kind, passionate and humble person, she is also a keen animal activist inspired by animal rescue groups and those who give a voice to abandoned animals, often opening up her own home to look after and nurture abandoned animals. In her interview with Maxim Australia, she said “I wish I could combine both caring for animals and modelling but I do hide a hidden talent as a pet groomer I can make my dog look like a star with some scissors and a bow!”

Katelyn Runck The Queen of Fitness and Empowering today’s women Growing up on a farm near Fargo, North Dakota, Gorgeous Katelyn Runck, is a swimsuit and fitness model well known for her amazing body.

Her ability to motivate and integrate a healthy lifestyle into her day-to-day life has her sought after for training, and healthy living advise, but it wasn’t always this way.

From model to fitness queen, athlete to coach, entrepreneur to mentor, Katelyn is the definition of a multifaceted woman and while Katelyn’s star has risen to the top, her life hasn’t always been picture perfect. Like the rest of us she has encountered obstacles throughout her career and personal life, but what makes her story iconic is her motivation.

USA, Katelyn’s foray into the modelling world began when she signed with Factor/Elite Model Management while completing her high school degree. Travelling around the world, endless photo calls and the general hustle and bustle of modelling soon took its toll on Katelyn’s mental health, and wellbeing with the model developing an eating disorder and being hospitalized for addiction, but thanks to the intervention of friends and family, Katelyn realized she had a problem and decided that she needed to turn her life around and start living her life. And boy did she!!

Following her discharged from hospital she immersed herself into the beauty and wellness industry. She toured the US, attending numerous seminars, conferences and workshops, absorbing the knowledge that she now shares with like-minded people, those who care about their mind, body and soul. She joined a local gym and thus began her journey into the waters of professional fitness and inner peace.

At first her exercises were rather easy with a mix of cardio and weightlifting workouts but full of determination and ambition she soon progressed obtaining her licensed yoga instructor accreditation and entering into National Physique Committee Bodybuilding competitions. In November of 2017, she participated in the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion (WBFF) Bodybuilding Championship in Miami, Florida, which she won, and thus obtained her Pro Card.

Now as a certified fitness instructor, she has decided it's time to spread her knowledge sharing videos, the latest style trends, fashionable outfits, accessories, places to explore, product reviews and more across her Instagram page which currently has over 2.6 million followers. With such a huge following, a stunning physic and her stunning good looks it’s little wonder that a number of popular fitness brands, including FashionNova, DollSkill, KL Swimwear, and LuxeLadyFit, among many others have all collaborated with the fitness pro

nternational model Jocelyn Binder was born to be a star, constantly in demand she has graced the covers of magazines such as Maxim, Playboy South Africa and Bazaar and yet from looking at her stunning photo’s no one would guess she is a two-time cancer survivor and author of “Sexy After Breast Cancer”.

Her life story is uplifting, one of positivity and inspiration. We sit down and speak to her to discuss health, wellness and finding the right man.

Who do you admire within the modelling industry?

The modelling industry has changed so much over the years and I truly admire women like Kate Moss who were able to defy the odds with their height (and now age).

What would you say is the most difficult part about being a model?

The most difficult part is definitely the competition. There is always someone taller, thinner, or younger than you so it's all about maintaining your network, working hard, and maintaining yourself so that you are always on you’re a-game.

You started modelling at 15, what attracted you to the industry? l love playing dress-up, plus I love playing in front of the camera and At age 28 you were diagnosed being a collaborator in the creation with Cancer how did that affect you? of art.

I was first diagnosed with breast cancer which then progressed to my lymph nodes, I had to undergo chemotherapy and have a double mastectomy, I also lost all my hair. In my book “Sexy After Breast Cancer” I detail the different ways that strengthening the mind and body creates healing, by combining an intense health regiment that combined both Eastern and Western medicine I was able defeat this disease and heal. I am very thankfully! Today, I have no detectable traces of cancer in my body but it costs a lot to keep me alive. I’m currently on endocrine therapy, which I’ll be on until the day my disease progresses. One of the drugs in my cocktail, Ibrance, is currently priced at $10,000-12,000/ month add to that monthly pills, injections and

You say in your book that in defeating cancer you found new confidence.

It may sound strange, but having cancer has improved my life in so many ways, I have grown to live in the present and enjoy every moment. At this point I can confidently say that my career has only gotten better after battling cancer. I honestly feel more beautiful than ever, having honed in on my advocacy and l love of inspiring others.

What would you say is your best asset?

I think my best asset is my personality because I’m very warm and nurturing, physically I think my eyes draw people in, I get a lot of compliments on their cat like appearance.

What do you look for in a man?

Honesty, positivity, supportive and fun to be around! Physical fitness is also very important. If a man takes care of himself and values his body, he is more likely to take care of me.

How can a man catch your attention?

The fastest way to catch my attention is with a confident smile or an act of kindness. I am always attracted to people who are smiling and give off positive energy. Holding the door open or offering to carry something heavy for me also goes a long way.

What would be your ideal date?

An ideal date would definitely include a good meal and a nice atmosphere where we can chat and laugh. I’m all about being comfortable so everyone can be themselves.

What turns you off a man?

Farting. If you need to blow off go into the bathroom!

Lastly, what is your life motto?

My mantra, which I have tattooed on my ribs is, “I am happy. I am strong. I am free.” It used to say “Let me be”… happy, strong, free but I recently modified it because I realized that I don’t need to ask anyone’s permission to be those things.

Today, Jocelyn is cancer-free and has dedicated herself to sharing her experience with others through her book, media appearances, and social media. Her book Sexy After Breast Cancer is available on Amazon in both paperback and digital versions, Goodreads and elsewhere.

Like the V12 Vantage, the V12 Vantage Roadster features powerful Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB) as standard Measuring 410mm x 38mm the front discs are gripped by 6-piston calipers, while the 360mm x 32mm rear discs are paired with 4-piston calipers. With much increased stopping power and tremendous resistance to brake fade at high temperatures, the CCB technology also makes a considerable 23kg of unsprung weight saving compared to steel brakes, benefitting steering response and ride quality.

As flagship of the Vantage range, the V12 Roadster is fitted with Sports Plus Seats trimmed in full semi-aniline leather and featuring ‘Wings’ quilt and perforation pattern as standard.
