DANDAN DAI Dandan Dai was born in Beijing, China 1979. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Wales in Wales, UK with a Master of Arts degree. In 2002, she graduated from Communication University of China, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Currently, Dandan Dai lives and works in Beijing, China. Dai uses weaving for its immediate method of expression and applies it to the traditional canvas. With weaving, she finds there is an inherent tension between control and freedom, and a game of sensibility and rationality. She has abandoned drawing, finding weaving to be a breakthrough artitistic form.
