Targeted at sourcing by industry professionals, the material library serves to update linen’s textile and technical diversity: a ‘4 season’ fibre that has become the durable indicator of biosourced innovation, of comfort and naturalness, of European origin and traceability.

These values are promoted all the way to the final consumer by the EUROPEAN FLAX® signature, the guarantee of a premium-quality European flax fibre with zero GMO, zero irrigation, zero waste. This traceability, when combined with 100 % Made in Europe transformation, is given the label MASTERS OF LINEN®.

The compositional testing method established since 2013 by the Bast Fibre Authority is the warrant for product compliance and correct labelling (ISO/WD 20706-1.2).

z NORME ISO : La prochaine étape Au sein du groupe de travail Textile ISO WG22, un collège de 12 experts internationaux a été nominé pour traduire le protocole élaboré par L’Observatoire en une norme ISO qui sera finalisée dans un délai de 36 mois.

ISO STANDARD: The next step Within ISO Textile Working Group WG22, a team of 12 international experts has been nominated, in order to translate the protocol dedined by the Bast Fibre Authority into an ISO standard, which will be finalised within 36 months.

Avec cette norme ISO - Working Draft 20706-1-, tous les laboratoires et sociétés de contrôle au niveau mondial auront la possibilité de réaliser des tests de composition des produits en lin de manière fiable et incontestable.

This ISO standard - Working Draft 20706-1- will enable all laboratories and testing companies internationally to provide reliable and undisputed compositional testing for linen products.

Chelsea College of Arts

Fibre vertueuse, les bénéfices environnementaux du lin et sa capacité d’innovation lui confèrent une compétence unique, véritable alternative pour réduire l’impact des produits textile dans nos sociétés. Tel est le sujet du workshop proposé d’octobre à décembre 2017, en priorité aux étudiants en 3ème année Design Textile du Chelsea College of Arts, avec extension aux formations en design graphique, décoration d’intérieur et arts appliqués.

Des étudiants qui seront amenés à explorer le potentiel et les qualités intrinsèques du lin et à créer des outils de communication prêts à séduire les nouvelles générations de consommateurs. Porte-paroles du lin, il leur est demandé d’imaginer et de produire avec leurs propres argumentaires, leurs propres vocabulaires, leurs propres sensibilités, l’affiche, la vidéo, ou les posts/réseaux sociaux susceptibles de convaincre.

From 15 April to 15 May 2018, the I LOVE LINEN public promotional campaign is set to take place in the UK. Jointly financed by the EU and the flax industry, it marks the final stage in the plan of action initiated in France with J’AIME LE LIN in 2016, continuing with AMO IL LINO in Italy, in 2017.

A green, creative and ethical fibre, linen is at the centre of a new commercial dynamic. While it may represent less than 1% of the world’s textile fibres, its attractiveness is inversely proportional to its size: linen is perceived as the signature textile of the ecoresponsible aspirations of an enlarged family of consumers, across all its markets in fashion for women, men and children; home; interior design and decoration.

A unique profile that will appeal to the key retail names in London – ready-to-wear boutiques and own-brand stores, independent multibrand stores, concept stores and online retailers. A linen itinerary identifiable by a common window design, specific promotional visuals and customised displays, and training for sales teams. An event locator on the ilovelinen.uk website offers geo-localised search capabilities.

Victoria &Albert Museum

An everyday textile, the versatility and resilience of linen presents endless opportunities for reinvention. When it comes to its environmental footprint, with zero irrigation, zero waste and zero GMOs, it appears enviably light. These qualities enable linen to showcase its unique status as part of Fashioned from Nature, a major exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum, opening 21 April 2018 and running until 27 January 2019.

“The first exhibition of its kind to explore the relationship between fashion and nature from 1600 to the present, Fashioned from Nature provides a new look at creativity, innovation and sustainability: qualities inherent in Linen,” explains Dr Tristram Hunt, director of the V&A. CELC is the principal sponsor of the exhibition Fashioned from Nature, a concurrent event on the I LOVE LINEN campaign calendar.

Chelsea College of Arts

The environmental benefits of flax / linen and its capacity for innovation lend it a unique authority, a genuine alternative to reducing the impact of textile products in our world. This is the subject of the workshop taking place from October to December 2017, with priority given to 3rd year Textile Design students at Chelsea College of Arts, and extending to courses in graphic design, interior decoration and applied arts.

Students will be encouraged to explore the potential and the intrinsic qualities of linen and to create communication tools that will appeal to new generations of consumers.

Employing their own arguments, vocabulary and aesthetics, they are required to design and produce appropriately convincing posters, videos or posts.

Flax / linen trainings will also be proposed to other fashion design and design colleges in London.

Le BHV Marais, Uniqlo et 23 de ses boutiques en France et en Europe, Bensimon, Petit Bateau, Majestic, Adolfo Dominguez et Cyrillus…, AM.PM, La Redoute Interieurs, Maison de Vacances et Fleux pour la maison, Elevation Store, Oska … autant de marques partenaires qui à cette occasion avaient habillé leurs vitrines de vitrophanies J’AIME LE LIN, réorganisé leur merchandising pour une visibilité accrue du lin en boutiques et distribué quelques 60 000 sachets de graines, soit l’équivalent d’un champ de lin de 6 ha.

Fort de ce succès, le kit de la campagne 2018 est déjà disponible : PLV, mise en scène événementielle, sachets de graines à semer, outils de communication on et off line, formations des forces de vente.

J’AIME LE LIN CAMPAIGN EDITION#3 FRANCE 30 MARCH / 5 JUNE 2018 The 3 rd edition of the J’AIME LE LIN retail campaign geared to the general public highlights and promotes this marketing of emotion which echoes with values of authenticity and ethics, innovation and traceability, sobriety and naturalness.

With its multitude of uses, linen finds its way easily into our wardrobes, onto our tables or our beds, in the bedroom, the kitchen or the bathroom, in formal or casual style! This linen is spread across an enlarged network, covering all its markets and comprising all its applications, from the department store to the lifestyle concept store, from ready-to-wear to knit specialists, from the online decoration site to independent multi-brand boutiques.

For the 2017 campaign, more than 217 sales outlets took part in the J’AIME LE LIN itinerary, all of which were grouped together by the dedicated website jaimelelin.fr and its store locator, providing an interactive map of the linen offering in Europe.

BHV Marais, Uniqlo and 23 of its shops in France and Europe, Bensimon, Petit Bateau, Majestic, Adolfo Dominguez and Cyrillus...

AM.PM, La Redoute Interieurs, Maison de Vacances and Fleux for the home, Elevation Store, Oska, and so on – an ever-increasing number of partner brands who for this occasion had livened up their windows with J’AIME LE LIN stickers, reorganised their merchandising to provide increased linen visibility in stores and distributed some 60,000 sachets of seeds, the equivalent of a 6-hectare field of flax.

Buoyed by this success, the 2018 campaign kit is already available: POS, event displays, packets of seeds for sowing, on and off line communication tools, training of sales teams.
