CASCADE TOWER
Spring 2021
Cascade tower is a proposal for a co-working space that ties together work and life. This is done through the integration of amenities and workspaces throughout the tower. The form of the tower gradually cascades towards the park and river to its side. This cascading effect creates different interior conditions allowing for all occupants comfortability.
Form Sketches Condition Sketches

Early sketches depicting programing that separates private and public spaces (amenities on lower levels and offices on upper levels).
Final Form

Early sketches illustrating interior conditions, how sunlight may effect interior/exterior spaces, and how to accommodate each occupant.
The overall form of the tower cascades towards the river, creating a clear view of the Scioto and Bicentennial Park. The gradual shift in each level allows occupiable exterior spaces with comfortable sun shading. This shading comes in the form of fins which extend out from each floor plate, and fold down along the east and west facades of the tower.

Structure and Programming

The tower is a concrete structure with a linear core, post tension slabs, and a column grid configuration

The final programing of the building mixes private and public spaces throughout the tower. The more public areas (daycare, restaurant, skate park, etc.) are located on the lower levels, while the semipublic amenity floors are mixed in with the upperlevel private offices and co-working areas.

CONTAIN & DISPLAY
Contain and Display is a pavilion designed for the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. The structure explores the relationship between crossing lines and how they intersect and interrupt one another. Throughout the pavilion, visitors can interact closely with the chair contained inside and weave in and out of the structure as the interior and exterior spaces begin to blend together.
The Pavilion form is composed of ten uniquely sized arches

OFF THE ROCKER
Spring 2020
Inspired by David Hockney’s Joiners, this project is a close study on how the classic rocking chair can be twisted and altered through perspective photo collages. From these photos, a new style of rocking chair is then reconstructed through two dimensional images and drawings to form a new 3-dimensional piece of furniture.

@ANTI-BURNOUT
Fall 2021
@Anti-Burnout is a proposal for a living community near Palmdale, California. The community is built to help micro influencer, TikTokers, combat high burnout rates through a strict separation between online and offline.
Through the utilization of the Communal Care Income Act, residents can make a living wage caring for those around them. Since creators are earning money by completing community chores and helping each other, there is no dependency on constant social media posting for money. By earning income this way, the time and life of influencers is no longer monetized and they are free to balance meaningful content creation and daily life.
TYPES OF CREATORS

The Workaholic:
Most of their time is spent in the Studio creating content. When they do venture into the living portion of the site, it is usually for necessities (sleeping, eating, etc.) that require efficient use of time.
The Work-Life Balancer:
This type of content creator splits their time evenly between creation and their desired lifestyle. The time spent within the site is usually filled with planned tasks that have no specific time frames.
The Wonderer:
A wondering creator makes new content sporadically. Most of their day is unplanned and filled with unstructured tasks. For this person time is not a constraint. This person takes advantage of the community by slowly exploring and taking in everything the living area has to offer.
Site Information
The layout of the offline portion of site is created by scaling up common home programming and moving it into the landscape. Instead of going from work, to home, to couch, community members are encouraged to enjoy their time offline and outside. This is done through diverse outdoor programming and minimal indoor living areas.
Between each large area of programming are small mazes. The purpose of these spaces are to allow people alternative routes which promote unproductiveness, allowing spontaneous meetings with others and self-reflection.
Located at the end of the site is a large warehouse where influencers spend their online time creating new content.
