CAIP is a 50/50 cost share program that allows producers to receive up to $5,000 through a pro‐rated reimbursement program. CAIP is designed to provide farmers throughout the Commonwealth with incentives to allow them to improve and diversify their current production practices.

To receive CAIP funding each producer must complete an application and obtain a minimum score of 60. Applications are scored by the local county board in accordance with the state guidelines. Upon approval, applicants agree to follow program guidelines for their respective investment area, maintaining all receipts and project documentation.

Cost share will only be given for completed projects that meet all guidelines and within all timelines.

Big Changes in Crop Repor ng at the Farm Service Agency (FSA) The Farm Service Agency announced that the date to report perennial forage for KY has changed to November 15 for 2017 and subse‐ quent years. Therefore, all perennial forage re‐ ported for 2017 crop year must be reported by November 15, 2016 to be considered mely filed.

Perennial forage includes but is not limited to: alfalfa, clover, grass, and mixed forage that has an intended use of hay and/or pasture.

Any producer who par cipates in the ARCPLC program, also referred to as the “Corn Program” or turn in losses for livestock under the Livestock Indemnity Program or have NAP Insurance Cov‐ erage should immediately contact their local FSA Office.
