CISI Level 3 Award in Technology in Investment Management Qualification Success Story Staff of the Year The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has awarded the prestigious Staff of the Year award to Kunal Shah, who works at BNP Paribas Global Markets as a VP of Credit and Rates. The CISI is a professional body for those working in the financial services industry. It offers a variety of qualifications across various areas of finance.

Kunal won this award for his efforts on completing the CISI Level 3 Award in Technology in Investment Management qualification. The Level 3 Award is one of 4 qualifications that form the CISI's new curriculum which was launched earlier this year. The other qualifications are: ●

Level 3 Certificate in Corporate Finance

Level 4 Certificate in Investment Advice and Wealth Management

●

MSc in Financial Planning, Investment and Risk.

The qualification covers topics such as ethical standards, regulation and supervision, foundations of financial instruments, financial markets, economics and business performance, trading systems and financial technology.

The role of the Business Development Manager at Blue Sky is to generate new business, as well as manage and maintain existing relationships. This means that I need to understand the latest technology trends and how those could impact the service offering for clients.

I first came across the CISI Level 3 Award in Technology in Investment Management Qualification when researching how to keep my knowledge up to date.

The qualification was relevant to my role because it covered a number of key areas which are essential for my job, including cyber security, data analytics, blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). I also felt that having a CISI qualification would be highly recognised within the industry.

Arielle Webb, a student at the University of Liverpool, has achieved the CISI Level 3 Award in Technology in Investment Management Qualification through an initiative between the University and BPP Professional Education.

The CISI qualification is obtained through a combination of 12 hours of tuition provided by BPP and 10 hours of independent study. This is equivalent to one week’s full time study and counts as 20 credits towards the University’s BA (Hons) Business Management degree.
