Jason Gym, Home of the Blue Tigers Jason Hall was originally built in 1958. Over the years, an addition was made to the front of the building, along with several other minor renovations.

The first phase of the Jason Hall renovation took place with an installation of a new HVAC system, a new basketball court and bleacher system. In 2008, the second phase addressed safety issues within the building, such as updating the sprinkler system. The Physical Education department received a new office complex, complete with private offices and a conference room. New audio/visual equipment was also installed in the PE classrooms. The coaches' offices were also renovated to allow for more privacy. The locker rooms were completely redone and a new weight room with state-of-the-art equipment was constructed. The restrooms, ticket booth and concessions area were also remodeled. Finally, a new Daktronics scoreboard was installed in the gym to allow fans the chance to see up-to-the-second player points and other stats. Another phase of renovation was completed in the summer of 2019, as the court in Jason Gym was completely redone thanks to support from Legends Bank. A brand new court, complete with the re-branded Blue Tiger head logo in the center and MIAA logos inside the keys, will serve as the home of Lincoln's men's and women's basketball teams beginning with the 2019-20 season. Jason Gym is located on 809 Lafayette Street in Jefferson City. Tickets to most of Lincoln's regular season basketball games cost $5 for adults and $3 for non-LU students and Lincoln faculty and staff. Lincoln students receive free admission.

McWilliams helped the Vikings win the CIAA Northern Division title in 2010-11. McWilliams, who has also coached at Livingstone and Winston-Salem State, has developed 10 players into all-conference honorees. Kiki Glass enters her fourth season as the Lincoln women’s basketball team’s assistant coach in 2019-20. Glass helped Lincoln to its best start in program history in 2018-19, as the Blue Tigers won their first seven games and nine of their first 11 contests. Glass worked with Zhanesha Dickerson, who finished second in the MIAA in both scoring (16.8 ppg.) and rebounding (8.3 rpg.) en route to being named an all-league honorable mention. In her first year with the program, Glass helped lead a rebuilding LU squad into postseason contention, as the Blue Tigers just missed the conference tournament on the final day of the season. Lincoln swept Lindenwood, a team that ultimately advanced to the MIAA Semifinals, that season. The Blue Tigers continued their progression in 2017-18, as LU improved in many defensive statistical categories.

Kiki Glass

Assistant Coach 4th Season at LU 4th Season Overall

Glass spent five seasons as an assistant coach at USC Upstate, helping to recruit nine players for the Spartans’ first season at the NCAA Division I level in 2007-08. Glass worked primarily with the guards and developed several players who helped quickly turn USC Upstate into a winning program, including Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year Tee’Ara Copney and Atlantic Sun scoring champion Courtney Hawkins. Her work as both a coach and a recruiter helped the Spartans increase their win total each season, from five wins in its first year as a DI program to 20 in 2009-10. Following the 2009-10 season, Glass left USC Upstate to coach with her mentor, Kathy Washington, at basketball programs at Therrell High and Grady High in Atlanta, Ga. Glass helped manage all aspects of both programs until Washington retired earlier this spring. Prior to joining the coaching staff at USC Upstate, Glass spent four years playing at NCAA Division I Western Carolina, leading the school to its first-ever berth in the Southern Conference championship game in 2003-04. As a sophomore in 2002-03, Glass helped the Catamounts win a season-record 21 games, and during her freshman season she made the Southern Conference All-Freshman team. During her senior campaign in 2004-05, Glass averaged a team-high 3.2 assists as she led Western Carolina to 18 victories and a trip to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship tournament. Glass also enjoyed a stellar high school career, earning all-conference and all-state honors at North Atlanta High. Glass was also named the Atlanta All-City Player of the Year twice and the North Georgia Player of the Year as a junior. During that junior season, Glass led North Atlanta High to the 3A State Championship. Glass was also a two-time Street & Smith All-American honorable mention and, in 2001, led her AAU team to a runner-up finish at the AA National Championships. Glass graduated from Western Carolina in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and marketing.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY 2019-20 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL MEDIA GUIDE

John Moseley was officially named as the Director of Athletics at Lincoln University on April 12, 2016, after having served as the Interim Director of Athletics since July of 2015. Moseley initially joined the Blue Tigers on April 14, 2014, after being named as the head men’s basketball coach, a role that he has maintained in addition to his duties as the Director of Athletics. Moseley was instrumental in Lincoln University’s partnership with Jefferson City Parks, which resulted in the construction of a state-of-the-art campus wellness and recreation center known as the Linc. A $14-million project located on Lincoln’s campus, the Linc houses a gymnasium with 4 basketball courts or 6 six volleyball courts, a suspended track, a spacious fitness center, office space, classrooms, meeting spaces, and a President’s Suite that overlooks Reed Stadium.

John Moseley Athletic Director

Simultaneously, Moseley collaborated with the LU Student Government Association to promote a plan that allows Lincoln to become more competitive through an upgrade in athletic facilities, increasing athletic scholarships, and providing a better game day atmosphere for Lincoln students. In November of 2016, Lincoln students bought into the vision and voted for a new student athletic fee which provides funding to support Blue Tiger Athletics, allowing the Department of Athletics to support $3 million in athletic upgrades and construction. Dwight T. Reed Stadium received significant renovations, including the installation of a synthetic turf field, a resurfaced track, new LED lighting, and a video scoreboard, during the summer of 2017. Moseley worked to secure funding for a brand new basketball court in Jason Gym in 2019, and Lincoln’s softball program began play in a new complex, complete with a brand-new scoreboard, in the spring of 2017. New locker rooms and offices spaces have also been constructed for LU football and men’s & women’s track during Moseley’s tenure leading the athletic department. In the summer of 2015, Moseley oversaw the development of the Blue Tiger Athletics Club, the university’s booster organization. Membership during the initial year was 157, and has increased each year, with 178 members in 2016-17, 264 in 2017-18 and more than 335 in 2018-19. The Blue Tiger Athletics Club has contributed over $70,000 towards the purchase of weight room equipment for Lincoln’s student-athletes. Lincoln’s student-athletes have increased their academic performance during Moseley’s time as the Director of Athletics, with 76 Blue Tiger student-athletes being named to the MIAA’s Academic Honor Roll for earning a 3.0 or better GPA during the 2018-19 school year, and four athletes earning Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-American accolades. Moseley developed the Blue Tiger Awards Show to recognize the academic and athletic accomplishments of LU student-athletes. In addition, he began the tradition of graduates receiving sashes to denote their experience as Blue Tiger student-athletes. During Moseley’s tenure as the director of athletics, Lincoln has won three NCAA Division II national championships (women’s indoor track & field, 2016 & women’s outdoor track & field, 2018 & 2019) and six of LU’s 12 athletic programs have qualified for postseason competition. An active member of the Jefferson City community, Moseley has also successfully grown the athletic department’s corporate sponsors, beginning partnerships with Chick-Fil-A, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Legends Bank and Capital Region Medical Center, among others. Moseley has been active in organizations at the national, state, and local levels, and is currently a member of NACDA, D2 ADA, the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the Jefferson City Evening Lions, and the JC CVB’s Athletic Events Committee. Moseley is in his second year of representing the MIAA on the NCAA D2 Men’s Basketball Committee and has also served on several MIAA task forces. A Warrenton, North Carolina, native, Moseley graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in exercise & sport science in 1998. He obtained his Master’s of Arts in Education (MAEd) in Athletic Administration from East Carolina University in 1999, and is currently a candidate for a Doctoral degree in the University of Missouri’s Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA) program. He and his wife, Crystal, have one daughter, Jillian, and are proud members of the Jefferson City community.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY 2019-20 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL MEDIA GUIDE

Since 2003, few teams in any sport have achieved the level of success enjoyed by the Lincoln women’s track & field team. The Blue Tigers continued the dynasty in May of 2019, when Lincoln won its second-straight NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field national title. Winners of 14 total national championships over the past 16 years, including five-straight NCAA Division II outdoor titles from 20032007, the Blue Tiger track & field program was honored in 2013 by being inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Lincoln has established itself as one of the top track & field programs in all of NCAA Division II, with the men's team posting top-10 finishes in the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Both the LU men and women won MIAA titles in indoor track & Field in 2016, with the men taking the title during the 2017 outdoor season en route to finishing as the national runner-up at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Lincoln men's golf team has also experienced the feeling of winning a championship recently, as the Blue Tigers have won seven PGA Minority Collegiate National Championship Division II tournaments. An annual golf tournament sponsored by the PGA and open to all HBCU men's golf programs, Lincoln posted wire-to-wire victories at the championship in 2013 and 2014. In 2015, Blake Lammers continued the tradition by becoming the individual champion at the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship. In 2016, Lammers also was the individual titleist at the MIAA Championships and became the first Blue Tiger to qualify for the NCAA regional since current coach Aaron Murphy accomplished the feat in 2009. Over the past eight years, 10 of Lincoln's 12 athletic programs have qualified for some form of postseason competition. In 2011-12, the LU women's basketball team came within eight points of playing in the MIAA tournament championship game. In 2013, Twishana Williams became the only female runner in the MIAA to earn All-American honors. The men's basketball program has made the postseason in each of the past four years while Ryan Brown won the indoor national championship in the triple jump in March of 2019.

The women's track & field team won its 14th national championship in May of 2019.

Blake Lammers won the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship in 2015 and the MIAA title in 2016.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY 2019-20 WOMEN'S BAKSETBALL MEDIA GUIDE

History of Lincoln University At the close of the Civil War, soldiers and officers of the 62nd United States Colored Infantry, stationed at Fort McIntosh, Texas, but composed primarily of Missourians, took steps to establish an educational institution in Jefferson City, Missouri, which they named Lincoln Institute. The following stipulations were set for the school: 1. The institution shall be designed for the special benefit of the freed African-Americans; 2. It shall be located in the state of Missouri; 3. Its fundamental idea shall be to combine study and labor. Members of the 62nd Colored Infantry contributed $5,000; this was supplemented by approximately $1,400, given by the 65th Colored Infantry. On January 14, 1866, Lincoln Institute was formally established under an organization committee. By June of the same year, it incorporated and the committee became a Board of Trustees. Richard Baxter Foster, a former first lieutenant in the 62nd Infantry, was named first principal of Lincoln Institute. On September 17, 1866, the school opened its doors to the first class in an old frame building in Jefferson City. In 1869, Lincoln Institute moved to the present campus, and in 1870 it began to receive aid from the state of Missouri for teacher training. College-level work was added to the curriculum in 1877, and passage of the Normal School Law permitted Lincoln graduates to teach for life in Missouri without further examination. Lincoln Institute formally became a state institution in 1879 with the deeding of the property to the state. Under the second Morrill Act of 1890, Lincoln became a land grant institution, and the following year industrial and agricultural courses were added to the curriculum. In 1921, the Missouri Legislature passed a bill introduced by Walthall M. Moore, the first black American to serve in that body, which changed the name from Lincoln Institute to Lincoln University and created a Board of Curators to govern the University. The North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools accredited the high school division in 1925, the teacher-training program in 1926, and the four-year college of arts and sciences in 1934. Graduate instruction was begun in the summer session of 1940, with majors in education and history and minors in English, history, and sociology.
