Student experience:

We will ensure that the College has effective administrative, welfare, social and domestic capacity to support our student members. Accessible welfare resources will be continuously developed to reflect the needs and scale of our community.

We will shape our fellowship to embody a wide range of disciplines and expertise to engage and support our students. We will encourage our fellowship to participate actively in College life, providing formal and informal opportunities for interdisciplinary discussions to thrive

We will continuously monitor our facilities to inform cyclical maintenance, acquisition and disposal plans for our estate We will maintain high quality facilities for all of our College members across our accommodation and communal areas

We will fundraise to increase hardship support for urgent, unexpected needs. The Development Office will also fundraise to increase the level of grants available for academic and extracurricular activities, including conference attendance, seminars, sports, music and arts societies, recognising that all of these activities strengthen the College community

Accessibility:

We will increase the number of College scholarship holders, focussing efforts in the humanities and social sciences where funding is particularly scarce

Our Development Office will design and launch a major fundraising campaign in support of Linacre Scholarships

We will participate to the maximum extent possible in scholarship schemes such as Academic Futures and AfOx to generate match-funding opportunities that further diversify our student community.

We will increase our outreach work, including through the UNIQ+ scheme, and actively develop our communication with underrepresented groups and subject areas to break down barriers to higher level degree study across all disciplines

We will communicate proactively with all relevant constituents about the benefits of applying to Linacre, seeking to increase the number of applicants who choose the College as their first-choice.

People:

We will build engagement with our fellowship by developing opportunities to support their teaching and research endeavours, building our seminar and lecture series opportunities, and improving the provision of space for these activities as well as for informal networking and social events.

We will seek funding to expand our body of Junior Research Fellows and strive to support them with accommodation needs.

The College will transform its governance structures to be in the best position possible to support a well-managed, modern educational charity. We will ensure that its trustees and senior managers receive all of the necessary training and resources to operate effectively in this environment.

We will establish, and continuously develop, human resource policies and training programmes to enable staff to thrive and develop.

We will partner with the ‘Investors in

People’

scheme, and commission an assessment of our workforce practices to strengthen our staff talent management.

Environment:

The College will set an achievable Net Zero Carbon strategy and publish an implementation plan to achieve its commitments. This will include significantly improving the energy performance of our infrastructure and operations.

We will review our operational and domestic practices to ensure that they represent the best practice possible to reduce our environmental footprint.

The College will create and publish a plan for net biodiversity gain. This will include developing the gardens and estate at Stoke House to enhance the local environment and increase its biodiversity.
