TRACING TIME THROUGH OBSERVING HUMAN & ACTIVITIES_____COMIC Wet markets are an integral part of our cultural fabric. Here’s where some of us get our fresh food and product and place for morning chit-chat and gossips over a cup of spilled-over kopi and kuih , to its charm markets are often colorful, vibrant, or friendly.

However there are an inevitable decline on market usage over the change of living lifestyle in the working class, supermarkets have contributed to the decline too, by implementing the concept of a wet market, and by providing a similar shopping experience but with a considerably more comfortable environment. Prices can be higher, because bargaining is not permitted, however air conditioning, labeling, and cleanliness are still what shoppers favor.

SITE ANALYSIS___MARCO&MICRO Old Klang Road is one of the oldest areas in Kuala Lumpur. Constructed by the British Federated Malay States in 1908, this 11.2km road is not only one of the oldest, but it was also a historically significant road in Kuala Lumpur because it was believed to be the only link that will connect Kuala Lumpur to Port Klang.

Old Klang Road has suffered devastating flood frequently in the ’70s, due to its lower geographical land, and numbers of residences decided to move out from the area upon severe lost. However, the flood issues have been improved with the enlargement and raising up by 3 meters of Old Klang Gates Dan. In the 60s, on both sides of this road were factories, warehouses, and oil palm estate. People used to row their sampan down this river that is Sungai Klang. Today, there is still a bridge linking this developed side of the river to the villages while some of the oldest and established residential areas like Taman OUG and Taman Desa.

These areas hold great value owing to their proximity to the city, which result to fast development of the area. There’s only one of a few earlier residences (60’s-70’s) and a number of earlier public facilities (market and post office) left which still represents the beginning parcel of development in Old Klang Road.

PROJECT 02B PASAR POTENTIAL_PROGRAMME & STALL STUDY Expand the idea and potential of the market from the singular unit of market stall. The market stall has been a functional mechanism in order to accommodate multiple functions from preparation, packaging, display, and purchasing in a single unit. The adaptation of the stall by vendors' behavior varies from the differences in market procedure.
