PHASE 2: LIGHTS ON MAIN PITCH AND TRAINING AREA
PHASE 3: ASTRO IN TRAINING AREA
PHASE 4: PARKING
PHASE 5: PATH AROUND 2ND PITCH & NEW FENCING AROUND SAND BASED PITCH
The Tracton GAA Club was founded in 1888 and utilised local fields within the parish until the Club purchased seven acres at Ahane A new field was developed in 1965 and was officially opened in 1973 Dressing rooms were erected and a Club house (consisting of a concert hall and meeting rooms) was completed in 1978.
The Club has in the intervening years continued to develop our facilities, investing and completing a number of projects, such as dressing room upgrades, the ball wall, improved fencing, the gym, and the sand based pitch. These facilities have served the Club well over the years with many members getting hours of enjoyment and developing as individuals The Club believe the time is now right to further develop the infrastructure in the Club to meet the growing demand of the community and its members
Community sport with its focus on participation, combined with safe facilities, allowing exercise such as walking, provides benefits to all in the community:
• Physical health by reducing the risk of chronic health conditions
• Mental health particularly by reducing isolation
• Wellbeing by being part of a community and meeting others on a walkway or playing area
The Club have identified key areas for development as outlined below:
1 2 3 4 5
A Walking Path around the main pitch.
Lights on main pitch and training area
Astro Turf area for smaller games and training
Improved Parking area
A Walking Path around the second pitch & Fencing on sand based pitch
Delivering on a development of this scale is a huge task The total cost of this proposed development is in the region of €550,000 In order meet this cost, the Club will be applying for grant aid but this will not be sufficient to cover all the costs
To deliver all five projects approx €350,000 of the total investment will need to be raised by the Club and the community and therefore we are embarking on fund raising initiatives as outlined in this leaflet. Timing and delivery of the above development phases will depend on funds raised & grants received.
Individual Donations:
The Club are asking each family or friend involved in, or with an affinity to the Club to donate towards the development project A financial sacrifice on this scale is not asked lightly of anyone The Club are very aware that the donations we have outlined on page 6 are substantial, but to put it at its simplest, the success of this new development depends on the Club raising a significant portion of the funding through our members, the local community and friends of the Club
Over the past number of years, the Club has researched how similar developments by sports clubs have been funded, the outcome of the research is that the vast majority have required a significant level of donation from members and friends who understand the importance of sport in the life of a community The Club are providing
a number of options to donate towards the facility development Donations can be one-off or by annual instalment or by way of a monthly standing order It is the Club's aim for development works to progress in September 2024 We are hoping that donations will be gratefully received or arranged by 30th June 2024 Representatives of the Club will also be calling door to door in due course
As an approved sports body, the Club can claim tax relief on donations of €250 or more in a year made in relation to a project approved by the Department of Transport, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media (DTCAGSM) When paying tax under the PAYE system, the donation is considered to be net of tax The Club can claim the tax on the donation directly from the Revenue Commissioners PAYE donors do not need to take any action after making the donation If you individually or jointly pay any tax under the self- assessment scheme, in your tax return you can directly claim tax relief on your donations
Companies can make a tax deductible contribution to the Club Such a contribution is deductible against the company’s total income in its corporation tax return As such the “net’’ cost to the company will be reduced by its tax rate (typically 12 5%)
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in anticipation for your support of this project Without you, our Club would not be able to consistently serve our community Tracton GAA Club is at the centre of our locality As a Club, we believe we offer our youth an experience that is positive and adds to their holistic development
We completely understand that the asks within this document are huge commitments for us all However, with your assistance, we can properly provide for our members and community and develop a facility that we can truly be proud of We are asking that you come on board with us and play your part in ensuring all in our community can be the best that they can be in every facet of their lives We sincerely thank you for your continued support
