I like to go camping and enjoy time with my kids and family.
It is hard for me to believe it has been 25 years! I have made a lot of great friends, and everyone works well together for the patients.
Comments from Julia Blakely, Manager
For a quarter of a century, Amy has been a cheerful face and welcoming voice during her career at Lima Memorial Health System. She has worked in the CCU, 6 South observation, Pediatrics, ICU and now our Kenton Medical Center. Amy is a wealth of knowledge and a go-to resource for others seeking guidance and insight. Beyond her established skills and capabilities, Amy exudes kindness and compassion in all of her interactions with patients, family members and fellow associates. We are incredibly fortunate to have Amy on our team and congratulate her on her 25 years at Lima Memorial. Thank you, Amy! You are what Great Care looks like!
Comments from Chad Martin, Director
Rob Dunlap is our electrician for the facilities management department. Rob has been with the hospital for 25 years. In his 25 years at LMHS, he has established great relationships with his co-workers, associates from other departments and external contractors. His primary responsibilities include troubleshooting and installing electrical circuits and devices, performing preventive maintenance on the building automation controls and assisting with the fire alarm system for the main campus, LMHS Medical Park and our off-site facilities. He helps maintain the reliability of our electrical backup generators for the main campus. Rob also assists with conducting fire drills and life safety tours for local and state fire inspectors. Because of Rob’s skills, we have oftentimes been able to eliminate extra costs associated with hiring outside contractors to come in for repairs or electrical installations. Rob is a true team player and is always willing to help anywhere he is needed. Whenever he is asked to do something, no matter if it is in his job classification or not, he is always willing to go above and beyond to make the customer or patient satisfied. He uses a caring and professional approach in all circumstances. He has always been reliable, and his work ethic is outstanding. Thank you, Rob, for all you do. You have been an asset to the facilities management department, and you are a pleasure to work with. Congratulations on 25 years of service!
There is not much that people do not know about me. I love to travel, ride my Harley, spend time on the lake, smoke BBQ and love on my kids and grandkids. I would say the one thing me and my wonderful wife enjoy doing that we do not talk too much about is working with the Matthew 25:35 mission in Columbus. My wife and I buy military surplus sleeping bags in bulk and then bribe our kids with ice cream to roll them up, tie them and place them in dry bags. We have had the privilege to accompany Matthew 25:35 mission and its leader, Steve Fletcher, to homeless tent cities in the woods of Columbus. The mission helps distribute hot food, canned food, water, batteries, camping gear, hygiene products and a message from God of love and hope.
Lima Memorial has become my second home and family. After completing my training at the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, I accepted a PRN position with Lima Memorial’s security department to help pay off my student loans. After a few years, a full-time position became available at Lima Memorial. Lima Memorial offered me a full-time position that provided a great balance between work and family life. I was able to work a night schedule, which allowed me to have the time to raise my kids and attend school sports and events. Since taking the full-time position 25 years ago, I have met so many incredible people. Associates have become friends and extended family. I am so grateful to Lima Memorial for offering such an incredible opportunity to grow, learn and strive for excellence at work.
Comments from Rick Sanchez, Manager
Officer Bill Forest’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our Lima Memorial community has been nothing short of exemplary. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated integrity, professionalism and extraordinary commitment to our organization. His dedication has undoubtedly made a profound impact on all who know him, all while earning the respect and admiration of the officers who have the privilege of working alongside him.
Officer Forest has truly made a difference in the lives of many, and his passion to provide a safe and secure work environment will continue to inspire future law enforcement officers in Lima Memorial Health System’s campus police department. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Officer Forest for his service, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to protecting and serving our LMHS community.
Congratulations once again on this remarkable and commendable achievement, Bill. May the years ahead be filled with continued success, fulfillment and happiness.
\ As a police officer, patients, visitors and associates are accustomed to seeing me patrol the campus on foot, bike patrol and marked unit. For 10 years, while serving with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, I also patrolled on a horse as a member of the Mounted Posse. I was involved in numerous festivals, parades, searches for missing people and the Allen County Fair. I still own my horse and trailer.
It means community. I am very proud to be able to serve with dedicated and professional co-workers. It truly takes all of us to make this community. Over the years, I have laughed, cried and grieved with patients, visitors and associates. I take pride in every assigned task.
Comments from Rick Sanchez, Manager Officer Jamie Furry’s dedication and commitment to serving and protecting Lima Memorial Health System for the past 25 years has not gone unnoticed. His unwavering commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of our patients, visitors and associates is truly commendable.
Throughout his career, Officer Furry has demonstrated unparalleled dedication, courage and integrity all while upholding the law and ensuring the safety of everyone who has visited our campus. His selfless sacrifices and tireless efforts have made a significant difference in countless lives, and for that, I am grateful. His 25 years of committed service reflect not just his passion for law enforcement but his deep sense of duty to the community.
Jamie’s attitude and personality have been an inspiration to his friends and colleagues, as well as a source of confidence for the younger generation of law enforcement officers who will carry the torch for years to come. It is also well known that Officer Furry has touched the lives of many with his persistent optimism, kindness, compassion and his willingness to help a friend in need. As we celebrate this milestone, please know that his contributions have been invaluable, and our deepest gratitude is extended to him for his commitment to LMHS. Here’s to 25 years of exemplary service, success and fulfillment in your noble profession, Jamie!
I love sweet tea! Just kidding—everyone knows that about me.
Lima Memorial has been very good to me through the years. My lab co-workers are truly like family to me. Additionally, I work with associates in many other departments, and I feel blessed to work with them. LMHS really does provide Great Care in a family atmosphere!

Christie’s knowledge and expertise in laboratory medicine with our laboratory information system have proven invaluable, not just for the laboratory, but for the entire health system. Thank you, Christie, for everything you have done and continue to do for this great laboratory and health system! Congratulations on this wonderful milestone!
I treat others as I want to be treated. I am honest and open with people.
Lima Memorial is something special and holds a special place in my life. I was born at Lima Memorial in August of 1958 and started working here in August of 1998. I have two kids and nine grandkids. My kids and five grandkids were also born here at Lima Memorial.
Congratulations on 25 years of service with Lima Memorial, Mary! The Great Care and customer service you have provided throughout the years is so appreciated. Your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed. Thanks, Mary!
I love tea (hot or cold)! I have more than 35 different types of teas. Some are from Israel. I even grow some of my own teas that I dry for later.
Lima Memorial means different things to me, but it is a second family most of all. I also work for some great patients!

Congratulations, Brenda Probst, on your 25 years of service with Lima Memorial’s laboratory. Brenda is a model of customer service for our laboratory, currently serving the health system as an outreach clerk. Brenda is the kind of person who makes every person she comes across feel like they are the most important person in the world. Not only does she have passion and a work ethic that cannot be taught, but she also has a warmness and comfort that makes her an invaluable resource for our laboratory. Congratulations, Brenda, on your 25-year achievement!
I solo skydived several times, rode bulls and had a permit to fly planes solo.
I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing co-workers. I love being a nurse and that my role has a huge impact on patients and their care.
Comments from Wendy Rayl, Director
Jeff proves himself daily as one of our most valuable nurses in the facility. Jeff’s story highlights an associate who has been loyal from the beginning! He remembers starting out as an orderly in the Emergency Center in the ‘90s and then working as a graduate nurse in the EC while waiting for his official results. His class was the first graduating class to go from paper to computer for boards! While in the EC, he remembers working with the “Five Sues,” who were Sue Grismore, Sue Lefler, Sue Pierce, Sue Simpson and Sue Fickel. He also remembers documenting with “Mr. Chips” and being so thankful when the “T System” charting went live. Jeff enjoyed working in the EC for 20 years, it was stressful, but exciting, too. He obtained his certifications to be an instructor for both ACLS and TNCC, helping to teach and mentor many nurses to be competent in their roles in emergent situations. Jeff showed his care for the community by participating in Project Reality, performing mock trauma codes to assist in educating the public. Jeff worked six years in the Outpatient Treatment Unit, becoming very proficient in many types of outpatient procedures before coming to his current nursing role in our Procedural Care Unit. Jeff is our go-to guy, as PCU preps and posts a multitude of non-cardiac procedures as well. Associates often comment that Jeff always has the answers, and they so appreciate him as a great resource for anything and everything! Jeff consistently receives high praise from our patients and families. They love him and will ask if they can have him back as their nurse on return appointments. He maintains a high level of respect from all physicians, colleagues and patients for his thoroughness and great attention to detail as he delivers outstanding care. Thank you, Jeff, for your above and beyond attitude, hard work and the loyalty you show. Please know and realize how much you are appreciated! Congratulations on 30 amazing years of service!
I was in the Army, and this is where I began my laboratory training and work.
To me, quality care in a family atmosphere is what LMHS means. It is to the point and on point.
Comments from Sam Schroeder, Director
Congratulations, Kelly Knerr, on 30 years of service! Kelly currently serves as the Core Laboratory Supervisor. Kelly’s knowledge of laboratory medicine provides a foundation for every decision that is made in the laboratory. He is flexible, patient and always willing to share his knowledge with others around him. Kelly’s positive attitude is infectious, and he is someone you just want to be around. Kelly is a man of high moral principle who is grounded in values and focuses on the well-being of others around him. He is someone who will never let you fall, and if you are falling, he is there to catch you. Thank you, Kelly, for everything you do for our laboratory, our hospital and our health system. Congratulations on your 30-year achievement!
It is with great privilege that I am able to recognize Jo Ann for her 30 years of commitment to LMHS. Jo Ann is truly a diamond in the rough! She puts her entire heart into her practice and goes above and beyond to make every patient feel like they are the only patient for whom she cares. She does little things that often go unnoticed, like calling a patient after hours or on the weekend to personally review lab results, or she will send a holiday card with a note inside reminding patients to make an appointment. These are the things that make Jo Ann not just good at what she does, but great at what she does. Jo Ann’s compassion, care and unwavering dedication to putting patients first make her a perfect example of what living our Mission, Vision and Values looks like. I cannot be more grateful for Jo Ann, her dedication to LMHS and the profound impact that she has had on her patients. Congratulations on this amazing achievement of 30 years! I look forward to seeing her practice for many years to come.
I own a small business (Door Hanger Junction), where I paint seasonal door hangers for your front door and also make other crafts. I also offer paint parties where you and your friends, co-workers or social groups can get together and have a great time painting a project and enjoy spending time with each other.
When I think of the meaning of Lima Memorial, I think of the word “giving.” I think of the stability Lima Memorial has given to me, my family, my friends and our community. I think of the meaningful employment I have had for 35 years. I think of working alongside the close friends that I have made at Lima Memorial and now have had almost my entire life, and that means so much to me. I think of each of those special people serving our community through their focus and dedication to the health and wellness of our patients and loved ones. They give their time, energy and love so selflessly every single day. I also think of the future of health care and how Lima Memorial will still be giving to my children, grandchildren and the community as a whole, long after I am no longer working here. I have worked at Lima Memorial since I was 20 years old, and I cannot think of a better place to spend my entire working career than right here at LMHS.

She is skilled, respected and always there when we need her. Karen’s dedication and resilience have shaped our team in more ways than we can count. Ketchup on everything and coffee for days! Here’s to many more years of memories with our amazing, Karen!
I went to my first concert last year; it was a Barry Manilow concert.
What a ride this has been, celebrating 35 years at LMHS! I have seen us grow from a smaller hospital to the excellence and Great Care we are known for today. It is truly a home away from home. Without all my friends and family, this ride would never have been possible. A big thank you to all my co-workers on 5 South for continuing to make this ride possible every day!

Tana’s leadership, whether mentoring colleagues or implementing solutions, has significantly contributed to the success of our department and organization. Congratulations on 35 years of exceptional commitment and service! We are so proud she is a part of our team.
I have been to Las Vegas eight times.
Lima Memorial is like my second home. I feel very comfortable here, and I enjoy seeing and working with a great group of people every day. I am very thankful and very blessed to be a part of this family.

Congratulations, Robin Mooney, on 35 years of service to Lima Memorial Health System! Robin came to the laboratory a few years ago, and she fit in like the last piece of a puzzle. Robin is flexible, reliable and the type of associate who really exemplifies the values and spirit of Lima Memorial. Robin enjoys spending time with her family, and that appreciation for family translates into the collaborative type of work she performs in the laboratory. Robin works behind the scenes in Pathology as a transcriptionist, but she does so much more. Her contributions to ensuring both patients and providers have what they need and when they need it is her primary focus. She is one of those extraordinary people who does not receive many accolades for her job and yet deserves many. Congratulations, Robin, on your wonderful achievement!
I am a proud dog mom times two and enjoy having them walk me around the neighborhood (without my phone).
LMHS has been like family to me and has nurtured my career and professional development. I will always be grateful for the opportunities and connections I have made throughout the years. I have made so many great memories in the past 35 years, and I would not change any of it.

I do not know a stranger.
I have worked at LMHS my entire adult career; I know nothing but LMHS. LMHS has watched and helped me grow as a person and a professional. I have met many people throughout the years whom I still consider friends to this day. I consider working for LMHS as doing something meaningful and making the lives of those around me meaningful. I value what I do and feel like working here has been a unique and fulfilling experience. LMHS has assisted me in creating a career I am passionate about while also challenging me to be a better version of myself. Being a member of the LMHS team has given me a sense of feeling valued through positive connections with others and being able to bring my authentic self to work. I always try to instill into my peers to be nice to everyone, no matter what department they are from. We are all part of the LMHS family, and in keeping this mindset, it has made working here easier, because they will treat you like family in return.
Comments from Brian Scheid, Director April is hitting the big 35 in her career, showing off her caregiving wizardry like a pro. She is the life of the team, loved by patients for her fun and upbeat vibe. April has this spunky, can-do attitude that keeps things lively, even if she is a bit cantankerous at times. And hey, she is the one always scoring big in the lottery of life, earning her the title of the Queen of Hearts! In her world, it is all about living and loving every moment, and we have enjoyed every day of the last 35 years that we have spent with April. We are looking forward to many more! Thank you for being such an amazing nurse and dedicated teammate.
My sister is a crafter. I have helped her craft for many years and traveled with her and her husband as far as Maryland and Wisconsin for craft shows and festivals.
Working at LMHS is like having a second family. I have been given many opportunities to succeed and have met so many great people. LMHS has supported me through tough times, which means a lot to me and my family.
Comments from Amber Stewart, Manager
Brenda has long been a part of our family in Radiology. There was a short time when she left to work in a different area at LMHS, but she eventually found her way back to our team. Brenda is always pleasant to be around, and she works very hard to ensure our patients are scheduled properly and in a timely manner. Brenda always collaborates with the radiology team to find solutions and demonstrates the willingness to help meet a patient’s needs and keeps the patient’s best interest in mind, along with the department. She is always willing to help her peers and provides great customer service. Thank you, Brenda, for being a part of our team, and congratulations on this impressive milestone!
My husband and I will be married 40 years this year!
I have made great friends throughout my years at the hospital. I also have learned a lot from those friends and patients. I cannot believe it has been 35 years. We are what Great Care looks like!
Comments from Kimberly Stonehill, Manager Sue, with an impressive 25 years of nursing experience, stands as an exceptional beacon of compassionate care. Her ability to treat every patient like family, coupled with a genuine warmth that knows no stranger, creates an atmosphere of trust and comfort. Sue’s unwavering passion for patient well-being is evident in her current and past roles within the health system, seamlessly transitioning from the hospital to radiation oncology and now the Ottawa office. Her deep connection to her hometown further solidifies her as an invaluable asset, allowing her to tailor care to the community’s unique needs. Sue’s journey is a testament to her versatility, adaptability and the lasting impact she has made throughout her career. In every sense, Sue is the heart of health care, and her contributions over the years deserve the highest commendation. Congratulations, Sue!
I grew up in Vermont, and I can play a good game of ping-pong.
I love my co-workers, and they make this a great place to work.
Comments from Tony Rampulla, Manager
Jennifer is one of the most caring and compassionate individuals I have met in my career and in my life. When Jen moved to Ohio 30 some years ago to fulfill an academic clinical requirement, little did she know that her career and life would be changed forever. Right out of school, she started working for Lima Memorial, and she has not looked back. During her career, Jen has worked in nearly all the different settings that a therapist might work. She fell in love with the acute inpatient setting, which is her current focus. One of Jen’s greatest attributes is her ability to think critically. Jen serves as a mentor for younger therapists who are just beginning their careers. She is motivated by a challenge, and she takes great pride in being an extension of the care team. Above anything, Jen is the first person in the clinic, and she is the last one to leave. She takes ownership in the care she provides to her patients. These are only a few great examples of the caring spirit that defines Jen. Words cannot express how appreciative I am as a manager to work with such a dedicated, genuine, empathetic and knowledgeable therapist. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do! Congratulations!
I sing to my co-workers to give them some entertainment and good laughs at my expense.
To me, Lima Memorial means Great Care for everyone, even associates. I am very thankful I decided to apply for a job at LMHS 35 years ago. I personally witnessed what Great Care looks likes when my mom became ill, and she had to move in with me. Our supervisor made it possible for me to work at home while I juggled appointments and her care. It is difficult to describe the level of compassion and care that was provided to her by our oncology department. It was nothing less than exceptional, and I am extremely thankful for it. 35 years have gone by quickly, but I will always retain fond memories of my work family at LMHS.
Comments from Sandy Young, Director

My wife and I have been together for 48 years, and we have three beautiful children and one handsome grandson. His name is Zion the Lion.
Lima Memorial holds a lot of memories for me. During my 35 years here, there have been a lot of changes. I have seen the transformation of the Emergency Center and witnessed patients come in as babies and then return as grownups. I hear them say that they remember me taking care of them when they were little, and now they have children of their own.
Congratulations on 35 incredible years of service! Your unwavering dedication to the Emergency Center has made a lasting impact on countless lives. ET is well known to all of LMHS. He always has a smile for all who meet him. He enjoys talking to patients and making them feel at home. His passion for patient care, resilience in highpressure situations and kindness have shaped a legacy that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone!
I have a granddaughter, Maycee, who is three years old, a grandson named Dawson, who is five months old and a granddog named Kiki. I love to travel and have been to 45 states and several countries.
Lima Memorial means friendship! I had the pleasure of working with and knowing many great people in my 35 years here at LMHS. I made some of my best friends from working at Lima Memorial. I hope to continue to enjoy the friendship of my co-workers and patients in the future.

Linda continues to prove herself daily as one of Lima Memorial’s most valuable nursing assets! Her loyalty shines through when you look at history, as she remembers starting as a nursing assistant on 2 Main and working as a graduate nurse for three months while waiting on her board results. Linda worked as a nurse in what used to be the pediatric special care unit on the sixth floor (currently a doctor’s sleep room) where she cared for children on ventilators. It was a small ward that could hold five to six cribs with curtains in between. She then went on to work in Pediatrics when it was combined with Med / Surg. Linda developed great IV skills working with kids, which set her up for the IV team until she was recruited for Interventional Radiology where she has worked several years until now. She can remember so many changes and remodels the facility has done, from semi-private rooms to private and even the use of window air conditioners. Linda has a passion for promoting safety for patients and associates, serving as her department’s Safety Coach and assisting with the Workplace Violence Committee. Patient advocacy is a priority for Linda, as she shows care and compassion and always attempts to help her patients relax before, during and after their procedures. She is quite consistent in offering a warm blanket to each and every patient. She enjoys having some fun at work and has been a lead organizer in helping plan activities for the radiology technologists during Radiology Tech Week. For Nurses Week last year, she lifted morale when she was seen wearing her original 1989 nursing uniform, cap and all! Linda’s example of commitment and dedication to LMHS and the vision to provide the best care possible to each patient does not go unnoticed. Thank you, Linda, for the hard work and dedication you continue to show, and please know and realize how much you are appreciated. It gives us great pleasure to congratulate you on 35 amazing years of service!
I became a grandma last year, and we have another one on the way any day. Family means everything to me!
In the last 35 years, I have worked with many incredibly talented associates. Lima Memorial has given me opportunities for both professional and personal growth and the chance to work with leaders who have pushed me to be my best. I have been lucky to be surrounded by a great group of caring associates who have the drive and motivation to not only make LMHS successful, but a place where Great Care is provided in a family atmosphere.

I have been honored to work with Becky Palte as a co-worker and manager for the past 10 years. Working with Becky is easy; she is a highly dedicated team member with extensive experience in patient registration and Lima Memorial. Becky is always looking at current processes, pulling on previous experience and seeking ways to improve or streamline a process. She is very open to new challenges and learning new processes. I rely on Becky for constructive feedback on changes; change is difficult for most of us, but Becky always puts the patient first and looks at how the change will impact them, and she becomes a cheerleader for the change.
Becky is always a welcomed smile in our Welcome Center, even at 5:30 a.m. when she starts her day at Lima Memorial! She is such a sweet and funny person, and I can always count on a laugh when we chat. Becky always sees the positive in situations and knows that humor helps you through those situations that are not always positive. Her positivity and compassion for our patients, our volunteers, our team members and associates are what really make interactions with Becky memorable. We are definitely lucky to have her!
Becky has recently transitioned to a part-time role within our patient registration team. This is giving her time to hang out with her three grandchildren. They love to go on adventures together! This summer, I imagine we will find Becky soaking up the sun and the water, doing what she loves to do, which is swimming with her family
Thank you, Becky, for your 40 years of dedication to Lima Memorial and to our patient registration team. It is an honor to know you and work with you. Cheers!
I love doing crafts and have made many wreaths for co-workers.
It is a place where I felt I could give Great Care to the patients in our community. I have received great support from my co-workers. LMHS has helped me grow professionally and personally over my 45 years. I have received more from patients I have cared for than I could ever give in return.

I am a great grandmother five times. I have never been to Ohio State’s stadium, but I’m a huge fan.
Lima Memorial Health System is a great place to work. It is like family. I have two granddaughters and a niece following in my footsteps at LMHS. I have a lot of friends whom I have recommended to come to LMHS. I have seen so many changes over the years. The robotics are amazing.
Comments from Tye Parker, Manager Congrats, Fay, on this wonderful 45-year milestone! You are an exceptional example of our Great Care here at Lima Memorial, and your hard work and dedication shows every day you are here. Thank you, Fay! Enjoy your celebration!
On my honeymoon in Jamaica, we were on a small two-person sailboat when a unexpected storm hit. Our boat was pushed out into the ocean by the strong winds and soon filled with water and overturned. A local happened upon us with his binoculars and rescued us in his motorized canoe. We had to bail water out of the canoe with a bucket as he headed to shore, as it was a torrential downpour. He saved our lives for $20 American dollars! We will be celebrating our 40th anniversary this June.
It has been my pleasure to work for Lima Memorial for 45 plus years. Time has passed quickly. I have experienced many challenges and changes along the way. I have never felt alone in this journey, as I have had my co-workers, my Executive Director and the entire management team who have provided support to me throughout the years. I have always aimed to work as a team and have a united focus, which has resulted in incredible results with team efforts. I appreciate the opportunities I have received at Lima Memorial, from staff nurse on the old 3 South, to hemodialysis and IT. So many friendships have been made along the way. I have always taken pride in Lima Memorial and appreciate all of the opportunities given!
