As a product of Atlanta Public Schools, I salute your commitment to strengthening and sustaining the special bond that comes with being a Falcon. Since walking the halls of George High, you have blessed our city and surrounding states with your wisdom, professional and personal achievements, as well as your resilience. And we will forever be grateful for your contributions.

For those who moved away from our world-class city, I encourage you to explore some of our incredible attractions – again. Consider spending time at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca Cola, Atlanta Botanical Garden, and many more.

Verses 4-7

Do you know where you’re going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you goin’ to? Do you know?

Now lookin’ back at all we’ve planned. We let so many dreams just slip through our hands. Why must we wait so long before we’ll see. How sad the answers to those questions can be?

Do you know where you’re going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you? Where are you going to? Do you know?

Do you know what you’re hopin’ for? When you look behind you, there’s no open doors. What are you hopin’ for? Do you know?

EVENTS

Although the Atlanta Public Schools inactivated Walter Franklin George High School, we still remember the building, regular classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, sports fields, band room, library, aircraft hangar, home economy room, art room, choral room, JR ROTC rooms, courtyard, main office, counselors’ offices, dedicated principals, counselors, teachers, cafeteria staff, librarians, and the good times. We can continue to keep the school’s name, spirit, and the Falcon emblem alive for our class, the WFGHS Family, and to the rest of the world. Here are some suggestions on how best to do that:

1. Stay in touch with one another.

2. Help one another during times of sickness and hardships.

3. Pray for one another.

4. Proudly wear your orange and black colors and the mascot emblem—let ’em know about WFGHS.

5. Sing, play, or dance to the Fight Song.

6. Give reverence to the Alma Mater.

7. Remember those that have transitioned.

8. Participate in person, virtual, and telephonic WFGHS meetings.

9. Readily respond to communications from classmates.

10. Support each other’s business and social enterprises.

11. Support each other’s religious and spiritual ministries.

12. Readily volunteer to assist in various events and activities.

13. Donate money to the class’ discretionary funds.

14. Pay monthly class dues.

15. Participate in class reunions, tailgates, trips, & other social activities.

16. Be empowered through continuous learning and comprehension.

17. Speak with confidence and assurance, and always do the right thing.

18. Advocate for someone or something.

19. Vote in all elections (or run for office).

20.Play a sport, exercise, and breathe deeply often.

21. Smile, laugh, have fun, give, and live life to the fullest every day!

19
