Please introduce yourself and brand to our readers: I’m Sharai Robbin and I’m a super nerd. I love all things books and literature related. I’m a Simon and Schuster bestselling author, editor, celebrity ghostwriter and writing coach. I’m also the CEO and founder of Good Ground Literary Services and Boss Bae to an incredible team of Literary Baes, that’s Bad A** Editors. I’ve been in love with writing since I was eight years old and today, I’m blessed to say that my team and I get to help entrepreneurs, business owners and aspiring authors write books that change lives. Writing a book, especially for the first time, can be tough, but with the right help it can be done well. The Baes and I coach our clients on how to position their stories for speaking and teaching opportunities, how to write with impact and how to use their messages to build their brands. Why drives your passion to help others? I love what I do and my passion for helping others comes from the lessons I’ve learned along my own journey. I’ve been in an abusive relationship. I struggled with my weight for most of my life. I’ve battled depression. I dropped out of college. I’m a single mom and I spent years doubting my value and my self worth. My relationship with God and my passion for writing changed my life and now, I get to live a life I love. So, when I see people doubting themselves and second-guessing their greatness, when I see people gripped with fear about taking a leap and stepping into their next level, something in me wants to run up and push them over the edge just so they can feel how amazing it is to spread their wings and fly. I know that if I can overcome all I’ve been through and achieve all that I have, it’s absolutely possible for anyone else to do the same. And at the end of the day, that’s what drives me, knowing that I’ve used my gifts and my passion to make someone else’s life better. Oh, and I also get a kick out of the moment the people I work with realize how truly amazing they are. There’s no stopping them then and I love that part. What 2 pieces of advice would you share with women to help them win in 2020? If you want to win in life, you have to have an intimate relationship with your money. Know what’s coming in and going out of your accounts every single day. You can’t invest in you, you can’t grow your business, you can’t do anything in life if you don’t have money. The problem is, most people make money but don’t know what to do with. Sure, we’d all be a lot further if money management was a required subject in school but it’s not, so learn about money and how to use it on your own if you want to be successful. Learn how it works. Invest more than you spend. Hire an accountant. Spend time with your money and you’ll see the difference immediately. Also, to win in life, you have to stay the course. These entrepreneur streets can get slippery. There are good days and bad days. People will frustrate you and you’ll want to quit. Don’t. Stay the course. Work on becoming more resilient so you don’t throw up your hands and walk away whenever something doesn’t go your way. If you want to be successful in any area of your life, learn how not to quit and stay the course. Trust your passion and keep at it, relentlessly. What is next for you? I’m always looking forward to what’s coming ahead while still enjoying where I am right now. My team and I are reshaping our brand and moving into hosting live events. We’ll be having our first writing retreat soon. On a personal note, I’m also excited to be getting back to my writing roots. Jody Prendergast Please share a bit about your entrepreneurial journey: My entrepreneurial journey has been one of great success. I am the current leader of my own home healthcare agency where we provide services to seniors and the disabled. When I started White Rose, it was very challenging because in Healthcare, individuals would prefer a professional with 30 years experience versus someone who is just starting. Knowing this, I decided to hire the staff with the experience and market their years of experiences. This method gained the respect we needed to sustain. What inspired you to launch the “Essence of a Boss” event series? I was inspired to launch Essence of a Boss from the need to have successful Black women who looked just like me. Women who are Entrepreneurs and Executives who said: I can, I will, watch me! The idea started with just a birthday brunch one Saturday and is now a 3 day conference. I wanted to give back to my community and create a space for women to excel in all aspects of their lives, especially business. Naomi Nucia Glay Naomi Nucia Glay, now Miss International Africa 2019 competed at the 59th Miss International Pageant in Tokyo, Japan. Born in the USA of Liberian heritage, the Atlanta resident previously served as Miss Liberia USA 2018-2019. Currently working as a model, she has been featured on Front Page Africa, Sheen Magazine, the Atlanta Journal Constitution and many more. She has allowed her personal trauma to help fuel her to become the voice for the voiceless and give hope to the hopeless. She created and produced Power Talk, an annual panel event to advocate for men, women and children who have been victimized by sexual abuse as she is a survivor of sexual abuse. Power Talk's mission is to give hope to and be a voice for the victims of trauma. By sharing resources that offer assistance and stories of those who have overcome similar challenges, Power Talk will create a community of emotional wellness. Glay believes everything a child knows is taught. Planting seeds in children is the best thing we could as a society to have powerful and effective adults. What inspired you to actively pursue your passion? Life has inspired me. My own life experiences and overcoming sexual abuse has been the fuel for me to actively pursue my passion. There are little girls across the world who need to feel like they are able to come forth with what has happened to them. Finding inspiration was not hard for me, and is not hard for me. I was the youngest of my mother's six children, the babygirl. Growing up, it was just my mother and I. Growing up, my mom talked to me, she prayed for me, and she prayed with me. But most importantly, she spoke blessings over my life everyday. She would tell me how proud she was of me, how much she loved me, how pretty I was, and she encouraged me to want more out of life and to never accept failure as an option. I now realize I needed all of that encouragement, all of the positivity growing up because it developed me into the strong woman I am today. As far as who's inspired me along my entrepreneur journey, I can honestly say that there have been many. But my mother truly inspired me to want the best for myself, to want the best for my future, and she was the perfect example for me to model "legacy building."

What is next for you in 2020? Growth & Innovation for both of my companies. Who is Tomika DePriest? Tomika ‘Mikk’ (pronounced meek) DePriest, is a results-oriented marketing communication professional with a proven track record for working with executives, teams, individuals and small businesses to generate marketing and communications outcomes, specifically in the areas of media relations, social media and issues/crisis management.I am also a journalist with experience in radio, TV, print and online media. Tell us about your professional experiences: I am a storyteller and a strategist. I love helping brands grow. What inspired you to create the “Brand Maiden” entity? Initially, the intent was to launch an issues management and crisis communication service for solo entrepreneurs and small businesses. Recently, I made a pivot to focus on my journalism experience and providing expert commentary on this topic and other subjects of national or public interest. I was an on-air commentator for Georgia Public Broadcasting’s radio show, On Second Thought, The Breakroom segment when it was hosted by Celeste Headlee. I’m looking forward to returning to this arena and am rebranding my work as The BrandMaiden. Share some of your top goals for 2020: First, consistent practice of self-care. What that means for me is spiritual meditation and worship, including active engagement with my church community; regular exercise and sleep (minimum 6.5-7 hours); a healthy diet; and spending time with family and friends, especially my “girl crew”. Second, to secure an on-air commentary opportunity, specifically radio or podcast. Also, I plan to continue my freelance writing for online and print media sources. What inspired you to become a Glam CEO? As a generational entrepreneur, I intentionally chose the corporate path before building my business. Growing up I had a first-hand look at entrepreneurship through my mother who had several businesses from the time I was eight years old. I have had a master class of life lessons, and I understood that being a CEO is not for the faint at heart. I didn’t want a business just because. It had to be meaningful work that was my passion. Through several ventures I learned that it takes more than passion. Being a CEO of your own business or the executor or anyone’s business requires capital, focus and a plan. It was not until I found my purpose in training, coaching and teaching and identified a clear cap in the market that I staked my claim as a CEO in my own right. Tell us about your mission: My mission is purpose activation and income maximization, and this is my primary aim for all that I serve, especially women. In an age where we are still fighting pay gaps, battling imposter syndrome and still finding our unique voice, it is more important than ever that we help women to become their best selves in every endeavor. Coaching is my superpower, to help women see themselves the way God sees them in their purpose. If we are not well mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially, then we are not truly free to operate in our gifts at the optimal level to impact others. I am committed to seeing sisters have healthy thriving businesses and a clear vision on their journey. If you could share business advice with yourself 10 years ago, what would that be? Pride comes before the fall. You can avoid a lot of head and heart ache if you just ask for help when you need it and use your network. That’s what they are there for; reciprocity. I have been fortunate to gain a very supportive network throughout my career that followed me into entrepreneurship. What is next for you in 2020? 2020 is the year of “ships”: partnerships, relationships, and mentorship. I am focusing on deeper and intentional relationships. The last 2 years, I built my business as more of a solopreneur, and I did a lot of the operational foundations solo. My name is Electra Davis. I am the CEO of Mysteek Naturals. I was inspired to to create my temporary chemical-free hair coloring due to the fact that I had spent time dying my hair in the past, only to have to cut it out later. In other instances it fell out over time. But like so many other women I like to express myself, so I came up with a perfect formula to get the color that I wanted, without the damage. This allows me to switch up as much as I would like, and I can continue expressing myself outwardly as I feel inwardly. Also, this is not my first business, it's my second. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and finally, I came across something that could get me into my dream career. What inspired you to become a CEO? I always had a passion to be my own boss, make my own business decisions and follow my own rules. I've always been like that. What business advice would you now give yourself 10 years ago? I would tell myself that success doesn't happen overnight and it takes hard work to get where you want to be. Stop looking at what others have and what they are doing, focus on you and your business. How do you feel self-love affects the entrepreneur journey? To be an entrepreneur you have to have tough skin. You have to mind the business that pays you and not worry about what others are doing. Self love plays a major part in that because you have to be confident in yourself and your business. You have to know when the business is wearing you down and when to take a day to refocus, refresh, recharge and release. What is next for you in 2020?
