OUTSIDE Knitted sheets inspired by nature I used the garden and the plants and fruits that bloom in it, as well as the farmland, from a bird's eye view as inspiration during a project called OUTSIDE. Our task was to make a 60 x 60 cm structure by hand, two knitted one and two crochet one. During the preparation of the surfaces I used both known and new techniques.

MARC JACOBS Brand analysis

I chose Marc Jacobs for our brand research task, I have always liked his work, I especially like in his collections that he reinvents himself every season and that he likes to go back to his previous designs and adapt them to current trends. I chose the spring 2019 collection for the design task. HAT COURSE

During the hat course, we were able to choose a theme for ourselves, for which I chose Marc Jacobs ’spring 2019 collection. During the course, we were able to learn all the tricks of hat making, thanks to which the design went much smoother. For my hat, I chose a basic silhouette reminiscent of the vintage world, on which I applied rich ruffles.

DECONSTRUCTION

During the shirt deconstruction task, I took a plaid men’s shirt as a base and supplemented it with a pale yellow cotton fabric. I used the back of the shirt as the front of the dress, I made a ruffle of double material on the back and fitted the dress with a new collar.

I shaped the sleeve of the original shirt into an arched shape.

LINES From organic to geometric

For this task and I chose the ‘stripe’ theme, I chose minerals as inspiration, my goal was to form a bridge between geometric striping and the organic striping of minerals. We had to make patterned, structured sheets with single bed knitting machine, and then a sixpiece clothing collection. During the design process, I made sure that the structure and layering of the minerals also appeared on my clothes. I wanted to show this in different ways, such as by stacking multiple fabrics or traversing stripes.

COAT Coat design for myself

During the design of the coat, I started collecting details. I started designing using these details. Since the coat was made for my part, I had already decided a few things in advance, since I was the customer. I knew I wanted to make an oversized dropped shoulder, multi-material sports jacket. Keeping these aspects in mind, I designed the six-piece jacket collection.

PULP FICTION The integration of a woman into the world of men

I chose Pulp Fiction because it's one of my favorite movies. I started designing in three directions, the first two directions were what made the film fun for me, the contract of humor and violence, and the third direction is women, in this case the film's character Mia Wallace, her desire to integrate into the violent world of men. With the silhouettes, I visualized these three directions, and I contrasted the worlds of women and men with the help of both silhouettes and the use of materials. From the combination of these three directions, the final collection was formed.

TUBE Structured form without tailoring In this project, the goal was to create a structured shape without tailoring using a double bed knitting machine. In my design, I wanted to show the layering that appear in nature, taking into account the proportions of the body. To make the dress, I used a tubular knitting with thread floats and I used an elastane thread to fit the fabric to the body. I adjusted the looseness and tightness of the tube by putting needles on and off of work. Towards the bottom of the dress more and more needles are knitted thus creating an expanding shape.

ECKHAUS LATTA Brand analysis Here, the task was to design a six-piece sweater and cardigan collection for a freely chosen brand, I chose Eckhaus Latta. They are an American designer couple who founded their brand in 2011. In the course of my research, I observed that stripe patterns, structures, fiber-floating technique, different colored edges, props, cutouts, holes are often used in their design.

As for the silhouettes, oversized or loosely following body shapes are used. In designing, I kept an eye on these observations.

THE TREE MOUNTAIN BA diploma collection

The inspiration for my design was The Tree Mountain by Agnes Denes, an American artist of Hungarian origin. The development of Tree Mountain took 14 years, the work of art consists of 11,000 trees planted by 11,000 people, the trees were planted according to the rule of golden pruning. The land has been protected for 400 years because in that time the forest’s own ecosystem can form.

During the design process, I tried to present the process of the formation of the forest itself and the passage of this 400 years. The process by which a shrubbery forest develops from shrubs planted regularly according to a mathematical system. The growing size of the silhouettes and the formation of the structure visualized the process of forest development.

FUTURE TRADITIONS MÉSZÁROS Vintage Butcher shop, Pinterest

Vintage Butcher shop, Pinterest

In the first project during my master's degree the theme was 'Future traditions', for which I choose my own name heritage.

My name means 'butcher', with this I always had a hard time to identify. The process of creating this collection helped me to become closer to my name.

During the research process, I dealt with the folk costumes of the Hungarian Great Plain's animal keeper, the costumes of today's animal keepers, the animal processors, butchers. in my collection I have processed my own reservations and anxieties about my name and the keepers and processors of animals.

I contrasted between the violent and the kind so that a harmonious symbiosis could be created that represented my name and self. The formal world is inspired by the wear of butchers and shepherds, with which I contrast technique and material use.
