OMAHA RIVERFRONT REVITILIZATION PROJECT Studio Ludo Omaha, NE April 2019-June 2020

As a Studio Ludo Play Consultant for the Office of James Burnett I was heavily involved in the design of two large playscapes for Omaha, NE: Gene Leahy Mall(3/4 acres) and Lewis and Clark Landing(2 acres) from Schematic Design through 100% Construction Documents.

This design is meant to cater to a range of developmental stages and provide a comfortable space for caretakers while also promoting risky play. The design was informed by data collected from Studio Ludo’s London Study. I utilized Rhino, Grasshopper, Cad, and Adobe Suite.

I designed The Arches, which will be built by 2023, Gene Leahy Mall using Rhino.

I designed the axons and " as a team we created a Manufacturing Drawing Set using CAD.

Gene Leahy Mall opened to the public during Summer 2022.

“Play Breadcrumbs” were presented to the Warren Bu ett Foundation as playful way nding techniques for Omaha.

I produced these drawings of our play structures for Lewis and Clark Landing for our client: O ce of James Burnett. Construction is set to begin in 2023.

CHILD’S ELEMENTARY Studio Ludo Philadelphia, PA April 2019-March 2020

At Studio Ludo Iead the design of Philadelphia’s first rooftop playground. I took the project from Concept to Construction Documents. The design is super affordable at just $250,000 and lightweight so that it can be built on the existing rooftop of the school.

Following community engagenment efforts I was able to execute the design and renderings for Child’s Elementary using hand drawing, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and AutoCAD.

The park opened up in Fall 2022.

SILLY STEPS

Professor: Eric Oskey Philadelphia, PA Spring 2014 This design exercise allowed me to understand the human scale and how the body interacts with architecture.

Using photography, Photoshop, and Illustrator I was able to diagram choreography and understand how the human body expands and contracts on a staircase through time.

I filmed myself doing choreography up a staircase from the side and back to understand my movement three dimensionally. I then diagrammed how different body parts moved up the stairs. Each color is a different limb.

THE CLIFF

Professor: Christopher Renn Philadelphia, PA Fall 2014 The vertical site features a stark overhang which the architecture accentuates. This design activates the site by making the cliff accessible, playful, and experiential. Instead of contrasting the site the architecture mimics the curvy and jagged geography.

SWINGING PAVILION Professor: Sneha Patel Philadelphia, PA Fall 2013

The design of Swinging Pavilion derived from two words: suspension and balance. These words informed how the architecture interacts with the 2x4 site.

The structure became playfully interactive and engaging by allowing users to swing the suspended 2x4.

Our event was attended by over 40 community members.

Community members and students came together to sketch and discuss what they wanted to see in our North Philly community at the historical Church of the Advocate.

Students and community members came together every saturday in Spring of 2017 to fabricate the park. Some days we had over 40 participants!

Historical Tiles showed the past, present, and future of the neighborhood and focused on historical places, community leaders, social movements, and photos of our design-build process. Our friend in the bottom middle photo was excited to see himself on one of the tiles! The man on the bottom right found a photo from a Jackson 5 concert he attended at the Uptown Theater. Our block party had almost 200 community members show up to celebrate the opening of our pocket park!

Studio Panduro Porto, Portugal December 2022-Present Casa Duque is a town home in Porto that my principal purchased. We are rennovationg the historical architecture and dividing the space into 4 seperate units. The design intent is to preserve elements and contrast them with modern interventions which rift off of the existing conditions. We are currently in the design development phase. I have been using Rhino, CAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, and Adobe Suite to design the space.
