What role has the grant played in my academic development?
Receiving the grant from the Liguanea Lodge was an important milestone for me in my academic career. In addition to providing assistance to cover my tuition, the grant also signified an opportunity to take the scope of my work further and it challenged me to raise the already high standards I hold for myself and my schoolwork. I feel encouraged and incredibly grateful that the Liguanea Lodge saw something worth supporting in my work so far.
1. Only registered Bidders will be allowed to place bids, and will be assigned a paddle number to use to place their bids. Bidder is responsible to ensure that their information is entered correctly above. Bidder will be responsible for all bids placed using their paddle number. Bidder is responsible to ensure that they are seated or positioned in the line of sight of the auctioneer so that their paddle number is clearly visible and their bid can be recorded.
2. The highest bidder at the close of the bidding for a particular lot will be the purchaser of the lot, and in the event of any dispute arising as to any bidding, the decision of the Senior Warden (in consultation with the Auctioneer and the Art Auction subcommittee of the Liguanea Lodge) shall be final.
3. Neither Liguanea Lodge, the Auctioneer nor any of their representatives shall be responsible for errors or failures to execute Absentee or virtual bids for any reason, including, without limitation, disruption to Internet connection, technical failures of computer equipment or software. Bidding by proxy is encouraged where possible.
4. Liguanea Lodge reserves the right to reject any bid, for any reason, at their sole discretion.
5. Lots in this auction are offered subject to a reserve price, which is the confidential minimum acceptable to the vendor. If a bid does not meet or exceed the reserve price, the lot will not be sold.
6. Immediately after the fall of the gavel for a particular lot, the successful Bidder will be responsible for payment by debit/credit card or by bank transfer. All successful bidders will be given a sale confirmation slip with their paddle number, lot number, and the amount of the successful bid. This figure will be final and must be settled by the purchaser with the cashier prior to leaving the Auction, or after making adequate arrangements for payment (which will be at the sole discretion of the Liguanea Lodge). For successful bids in excess of US$10,000, a minimum, non-refundable, 25% deposit must be made by debit/credit card on the night of the Auction.
7. All lots are sold “as is.” Liguanea Lodge makes no statements, warranties, or representations as to the accuracy of any auction item’s description, genuineness, provenance, or condition.
8. Liguanea Lodge reserves the right to withdraw any item offered for bid, at any time.
9. Liguanea Lodge will not be responsible for any loss or damage to auction items, and each lot shall be at the sole risk of the purchaser as regards loss of damage from the acceptance of the successful bid.
10. Possession of a lot will only be transferred once payment in full has been received.
11. The name(s) of the successful bidder may be released to the item’s vendor; however, other contact information will not be released without Bidder’s consent.
