Refreshing the Kapunda Town Seating: Revitalising Heritage Charm

Council recently refreshed the town seating in Kapunda, and since the project’s completion, our Customer Service team has received excellent feedback. Many residents have praised the enhanced street appeal it brings to the area.

By carefully refreshing the existing seating, we were able to give public spaces a vibrant new look without compromising

the historic character that makes Kapunda unique. The refreshed seating now provides a more inviting and comfortable place for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Around The Region: Works & Projects

Greenock Road with Samuel and Moppa Roads Roundabout

Now Open

Council is pleased to announce that the roundabout on Greenock Road at the intersection with Samuel and Moppa Roads is now complete and fully accessible. This marks a major step forward in improving traffic flow and safety in the area.

The project was a collaborative effort, with funds from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, and Light Regional Council, supported by the Barossa Council.

Council extends sincere gratitude to the community, local businesses, and the transport industry for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout the design and construction phases.

Mayor Bill O’Brien shared his excitement, stating, “The completion of this longawaited roundabout is a major achievement for our community.

I sincerely thank the community for their patience and support throughout the construction process.”

The Light Regional Council and project team thank everyone involved and look forward to the positive impact this roundabout will have on the region.

2024/2025 Fire Danger Season

It addresses a key challenge in our road network and will deliver lasting benefits by improving safety, easing traffic, and supporting freight, tourism, and daily commutes. Information is also available at the Light Regional Council website under Public Health, Safety, Permits and Nuisances/ Emergency Management/ Disaster Information – Rural Fire (Bushfire) or by contacting Council’s Fire Prevention Officers. “I sincerely thank the community for their patience and support throughout the construction process.” Mayor Bill O’Brien

During the Fire Danger Season, restrictions are implemented on lighting fires to help reduce the risk of large fires occurring. These restrictions are further intensified when a Total Fire Ban Day is declared.

The CFS website (www.cfs. sa.gov.au) features important information that is regularly updated, including Total Fire Bans and Ratings, Warnings and Incidents as well as guidance on how to Plan and Prepare.

Regional Council have developed a new Customer Service Charter based on the feedback received from the 2024 Customer Service Satisfaction Survey.

If you would like to view the charter, go to Council’s website www.light.sa.gov.au, or visit one of our Offices or Libraries.
