And now to the concert! Anyone who attended the Elgin Town Hall on Saturday 21st January and heard the first live performance of The Conversation: ‘I am me’ were very privileged indeed. It was an outstanding performance, delivered by talented and enthusiastic musicians who were thoroughly enjoying themselves whilst delivering a very powerful message that “it is okay not to be okay” and you need to speak up without fear of being criticised for doing so.
It was a brilliant night of musical entertainment pulled together by AJ and his pals with the performance of ‘I am me’ definitely being the highlight of the night.

The evening kicked off with Gary ‘Moyzie’ Moyes giving his first solo performance for a few years. He needn’t have worried as he smashed it - he’s a natural. Moyzie was followed by Danny Mortimer and his band, who never fail to entertain. It is difficult to choose a favourite and no doubt everyone has their own, but “Pretend” has to be up there. Moyzie joined Danny for their last song “Rocking in the Free World”. It was then the turn of the special guests, young Elgin band The Zebecks, who treated the home crowd to a number of their own songs. Singer Dan even joined the delighted Elgin crowd on the floor during his set.

Following The Zebecks, AJ took to the stage to thank everyone for coming. He said how many times he had said these words “I wrote a song”. He spoke from the heart about how life is hard, but the important message is not to be afraid to “SPEAK UP!!” He thanked the guys for putting their heart and soul into a project that he initially thought would be a good laugh.
