Double doors were constructed to resemble the sides of a British red telephone booth, with the Superman logo carved into the crests. The Dohertys even located an old-style working payphone to install inside the closet. “It's unique and our son loves it,” Halyna says. “It's one of a kind and you wouldn't see that kind of work anywhere else.” Also on the home's upper level, Woody's built an office for Steve, with walnut cabinets and a walnut desk with a solid cherry top and a black quartz inset for writing. A nearby craft and sewing area was constructed for Halyna, a “girls' hangout” that includes a craft counter, a desk/sewing centre, and a bar with white cabinetry, a pale quartz countertop and a built-in ice machine and wine cooler. A lower-level entertainment oasis features blue accents, including cobalt basins, counters in sparkly blue quartz that resembles crushed beach stones, and an island anchored by cobalt crystal ice buckets illuminated from below with LED lights. From top to bottom, the Dohertys' vision for their home has been skillfully incorporated into the woodworking, Halyna says. “It's turning out to be exactly what we dreamed.” 12
