Put a Spring in your Sales and Profit Spring and growth go hand in hand so, with a number of major sales opportunities on the horizon, Retailers should look forward to a busy time as 2012 gets into its stride. This year, three major events take place over a 24 day period. St Patrickâs Day falls on Saturday 17 March and, following hot on the heels of that famous Irish celebration is the alwayspopular Mothering Sunday, which in 2012 is celebrated the day after St Patrickâs Day on Sunday 18 March. Traditionally itâs on this day that Mums, the length and breadth of the Country, will be spoiled with gifts of chocolates, flowers, cards and maybe a bottle of rosĂŠ wine so the day offers one of the best opportunities of the year.
Be sure to re-stock your shelves in time for the Easter event which provides the yearâs biggest choc-feast. The four-day Easter celebration begins on Good Friday with Easter Saturday on 7 April, the bumper Easter Sunday on 8 April and Easter Monday bringing the event to a close, the long-weekend looks like providing one of the yearâs busiest Trading periods. continued on p4 & 5
