His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, a keen golfer himself, was present to witness South Africa's Dylan Frittelli who clinched victory. Fritelli secured his third DP World Tour title with a closing round of one under 71, finishing at 13 under for the tournament. Frittelli's win, amidst formidable competition, underscored his resilience and prowess on the course.
"It feels great, it feels awesome," expressed Frittelli, reflecting on his journey to victory. "It's been a long road, but it feels awesome to be back on top right now."
Despite facing early setbacks, including bogeys on the front nine, Frittelli rallied with back-to-back birdies to regain momentum and secure his lead.
His remarkable performance was acknowledged as His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa presented him with the championship trophy, marking a momentous occasion in Bahrain's sporting history.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa presents the Bahrain Championship trophy to Dylan Frittelli
A Royal Welcome
At the presentation ceremony, His Majesty King Hamad remarked: ”The Kingdom of Bahrain is a country of firsts in the region: the first to discover oil in 1932, and also the first to have a golf course, in 1934 in Awali, just 2 km from here. And the first open golf tournament in the Gulf was held here in Bahrain in 1964.
I understand that we have had a magnificent tournament on this splendid but tough course over the last 4 days. My hearty congratulations to all the players and all those who have helped to organise the tournament, including the Bahraini organisations and sponsors, the Royal Golf Club and the many volunteers.
I know it has involved much hard work and preparation. I think everybody can be very proud of what has been achieved. We look forward to welcoming you all back to the Kingdom of Bahrain next year.”
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) were also present at the occasion alongside Keith Pelley, DP World Tour Chief Executive.
Expressing immense pride in His Majesty's patronage, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa underscored the significant impact it had on the tournament's success. He emphasised that this royal support reflects the unwavering commitment of His Majesty to the sports movement.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa asserts that hosting this tournament has solidified Bahrain's standing on the global golf map, positioning it as a key destination for golf tournaments in the region.
Keith Pelley, DP World Tour Chief Executive, said it was good to return to Bahrain after 13 years. He thanked Bahrain and its people for their hospitality, commending the support of HM the King for golf and thanking HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad for attending the opening of the championship and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for his efforts in following up on the efforts to prepare for the event and ensure its success. Pelley said the championship has shed light on the beauty of Bahrain. "All rounds of the championship have been viewed by golf fans in 550 million households across 160 countries," he added.

Freddie Schmeisser, Head of Championships, DP World Tour Middle East
Royal Golf Club Shines
"The Royal Golf Club was magnificent, providing a true test for our professionals. The improvements over the past six months, with redesigned greens, bunker upgrades, and complete course overseeding, truly paid off. At 13 under par, the winning score reflects a challenging course, yet players appreciated it and look forward to an even better experience in 2025."
Schmeisser went on to highlight the incredible fan engagement, mentioning initiatives specifically aimed at younger audiences. "Returning to Bahrain after 13 years was fantastic, and the welcome we received was overwhelming. Free entry for spectators proved successful, attracting over 7,753 attendees, exceeding our expectations. Alongside world-class golf, they enjoyed a vibrant Championship Village featuring live music, roaming entertainment, and a dedicated kids zone with activities like mini golf and bouncy castles. Local flavour was added with a traditional Bahraini souk and craft market."
"The 'Golf For All' zone allowed everyone to try the game, while food trucks and refreshments created a festival atmosphere around the course. The Bahrain Championship was much more than just a tournament; it was, and will always be, a festival for all."
The tournament produced its share of memorable moments, with the presence of His Majesty the King being a personal highlight for Schmeisser:
"His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa's patronage, along with the support of various sporting bodies, made this event possible. Having the King personally present the trophy to Dylan Frittelli on Sunday was truly spectacular. Additionally, the stunning opening ceremony attended by dignitaries set the perfect tone for the week."
As the sun set on the Bahrain Championship 2024, it left an indelible mark on the hearts of players and spectators alike. The event not only showcased the pinnacle of golfing talent but also highlighted Bahrain's commitment to excellence in sports. With anticipation building for the next edition, the Bahrain Championship continues to shine as a beacon of sporting prowess in the region.

DP World, the global leader in smart logistics, isn't just moving cargo – it's moving the needle in the world of sports. Transcending their core business, they've crafted a unique sponsorship portfolio, injecting their energy and resources into initiatives that go beyond brand visibility, fostering inclusion, opportunity, and passion in the hearts of athletes and fans alike. Cricket, Golf and Formula One, three global sports giants, have become key beneficiaries of DP World's vision, and their involvement in these arenas paints a compelling picture of their commitment to sporting excellence.
In cricket, DP World's ‘Beyond Boundaries’ initiative transcends borders, literally. This ambitious project delivers repurposed shipping containers filled with essential cricket equipment to underprivileged communities worldwide. Each container becomes a beacon of hope, nurturing young talent and igniting a love for the game in regions where resources might be scarce. This isn't just about providing gear; it's about building cricket ecosystems, empowering individuals, and fostering a sense of community through the unifying power of sport.
With a year-round calendar and a truly global footprint, golf is a sport that reflects the nature of DP World’s business. Through their leading smart logistics, they deliver the ingredients that make golf possible, support grassroots initiatives and shape the future of both golf and trade for everyone.
Formula One, on the other hand, sees DP World's involvement take a more high-octane turn. As partners of the McLaren racing team, they have reimagined the team’s supply chain to drive the team to the next level in Formula One. But that’s not all, for 2024, McLaren Racing and DP World announced a partnership expansion, which will see the global supply chain company featured on the McLaren MCL38’s dynamic branding panels throughout the 2024 season. This pioneering and cutting-edge technology will be used exclusively with DP World, allowing them to dynamically change branding on both race cars.
DP World's sports initiatives are more than just sponsorships; they're testaments to their values. From nurturing grassroots talent to celebrating sporting excellence, they're playing a vital role in shaping the future of sports, leaving a legacy that goes beyond the roar of the crowd and the thrill of competition.
Chief Communications Officer, DP World
In an exclusive interview with Life N Style, Daniel Van Otterdijk, Group Chief Communication Officer, DP World, explains how the logistics giant is using its platform to empower communities, cultivate talent, and inspire positive change.
DP World has strategically positioned itself in sports, particularly with the DP World Tour in Golf, various cricket sponsorships, and the collaboration with McLaren in Formula One racing. Can you share the vision behind this positioning and how it came about?
Daniel Van Otterdijk: At DP World, we believe in the power of partnerships and have partnered with organisations and rights holders that share the same visions and values as a business. We do not see partnerships as simply a badging exercise; they are much more than that and represent a huge brand and commercial opportunity for us as a smart logistics provider.
Our partnerships allow us to connect with our target audience through their passion points in sports. They allow us to raise awareness of our business, tell stories about our capabilities, and expand our business in new markets worldwide.
We work very closely with the rights holders to make sure we are getting the total value out of our partnerships and continuously push for bigger and better as the partnerships evolve. We have a great spread across different sports and markets, which is having a significant impact on our business and amongst our key stakeholders.
Daniel Van Otterdijk, Chief Communications Officer, DP World with one of one of Europe’s leading golfers Tommy Fleetwood at an event
Can you share some key success stories or highlights from the company's involvement in the DP World Tour, ILT20, and McLaren Formula One racing that showcase the positive impact on the organisation and the sport?
There are many examples of our business benefitting from the sports partnerships we are involved in and the rights holder benefitting from having DP World on board as a logistics partner.
Alongside the DP World Tour, DP World is also a Worldwide Partner of the Ryder Cup. As part of Rome 2023, we helped deliver many essential equipment items to the city ahead of the tournament, working with key suppliers like Aggreko and CSM Live to ensure the stage was set at Marco Simone GC. With an extensive guest programme alongside the Ryder Cup itself, we were able to build and nurture business relationships that ultimately will help grow our business.
With the ILT20 and cricket in general, we are partnered with one of the world’s most popular sports. The DP World ILT20 gave us a unique opportunity to be part of the UAE’s first home-grown cricket tournament and once again help turn Dubai into the region's sports capital. Much of our focus with cricket is to educate people about what a great sport it is and provide access to playing opportunities worldwide. We are making great strides in that regard.
With McLaren F1, we are into our second season supporting the team, and there have been many highlights already. Our smart logistics expertise is helping make the team faster, more innovative, and more sustainable. We recently helped the team move tonnes of equipment across the length of America more sustainably, using biofuels and electric trucks. The partnership has been a massive hit with our stakeholders and people.
As the principal sponsor of ILT20 cricket, how does DP World view its role in shaping the future of T20 cricket in the region?
Together with our partners, we are playing an essential role for sure. Even though cricket in the UAE dates back several decades, the sport has grown significantly in recent years. Through our support of formats like the T20, the popularity of cricket and these leagues have brought significant attention to the UAE as a cricketing destination. This has important economic and cultural significance for the region, which we are proud to play our part in.
McLaren Formula 1 had a great second half last season, with Lando picking up seven podiums - what are your predictions/expectations from Team Papaya this season?
We know how much hard work is going on behind the scenes with McLaren, so expect them to keep pushing on and better their performance from last year. Zak and the backroom team work non-stop to improve performance, so I hope for a higher finish in the Constructors Championship this year and a few race wins. That would be great!
Sustainability is a growing concern in various industries, including sports. How does DP World incorporate sustainability practices into its sports-related initiatives, particularly in events like the DP World Tour and Formula One racing?
Sustainability practices as part of sports events and teams and the responsibility of not just one but a collective group, from the partners to the rights holders, should be a collaboration and a combined vision to improve sustainability in all areas.
DP World Tour ranked fourth in the 2023 Sports Technology Power List for the second year running, just behind Red Bull racing, NBA, ICC and NFL. Can you share the secret behind this success?
Well, golf has become increasingly technology-focused over the years, with advancements in equipment, training methods, infrastructure, tournament analysis, and commentary. It is also somewhat unique in how a whole tournament set-up must be built for just four days of competition, so from a technology point of view, the DP World Tour must be clever with space requirements, spectator experience, broadcasting requirements, corporate hospitality, and logistics. You can see why it’s so highly ranked when you put that all together. This is completely aligned with what we do here at DP World.
Empowering Tomorrow's Champions
In the realm of global sports initiatives, few partnerships resonate as profoundly as that between DP World and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who stands not only as a cricketing icon but also as a beacon for societal change. As a DP World Global Ambassador, Tendulkar's influence extends beyond the boundaries of cricket, encapsulating the essence of DP World's commitment to transformative sports engagement.
In this exclusive interview, we delve into the dynamic collaboration between DP World and Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, exploring the multifaceted impact of their shared vision on sports accessibility, community empowerment, and the cultivation of future talent on a global scale.
Cricketing great Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar - a prominent DP World global ambassador
As the DP World Global Ambassador to make cricket accessible globally what are major positive changes you have been a part of with the DP World brand?
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar: I am extremely happy with the partnership with DP World which has succeeded in going beyond boundaries to help make cricket possible globally.
Under this global initiative, DP World has leveraged its endto-end network and smart logistics capabilities to deliver repurposed shipping containers equipped with cricket gear and essentials, to grassroots cricket clubs around the world. Over the next 5 years, fifty such containers are to be delivered.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup was used as a launchpad for this unique partnership and the first container was launched in my hometown, Mumbai. The repurposed containers serve as a pavilion and are equipped with an in-built scoreboard, sun protection and seating. More importantly, they ensure a safe space for girls, as the containers can be used as changing rooms.
Throughout the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, DP World also pledged to donate 10 kits for every 100 runs scored by a team in a match and over 2,500 kits were pledged. To date, over 800 kits have been delivered through four repurposed shipping containers, most recently in Dubai.
It is a pleasure to be a part of this initiative and I look forward to witnessing its impact in nurturing the next generation of cricketers.
As a young cricketer who has risen through the ranks, what do you feel the young cricketer of today needs the most?
A few decades ago, the opportunities for cricketers were limited. Today, cricket is flourishing across the globe and there are multiple avenues to play the game including through the various cricket clubs and leagues. Hence, it is important for youngsters to stay motivated and sustain their efforts to make the most of the opportunities that come their way. One can get it ‘right’, or one can get it ‘now’; ‘right now’ hardly works. Today’s cricketers also need to put in conscious efforts towards mental fitness, along with physical fitness. Having a good support system of family and friends always helps.
Like most young cricketers, I grew up playing for my local club. I understand the importance of quality cricketing equipment and kits, and how this can positively impact young cricketers. By providing facilities and equipment, it’s heartening to see DP World's commitment to nurturing young cricketing talent not just in India, but across the world.
What has been the impact of T20 on cricket?
Cricket is one of the few sports, where tradition and modernity continue to co-exist. Test, Limited Overs (50) and T20 – each format has influenced and inspired the other. Apart from developing batters’ ability to play all around the wicket, and bowlers working out innovative ways to get batters out, the most transformational impact of T20 has been the acrobatic standards of fielding that we are getting to witness today.
DP World has recognised the value each format brings to fans worldwide. It has been great to see DP World being involved with the ICC World Test Championship, ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India, and with T20 leagues across the world. As part of the Beyond Boundaries initiative in DP World ILT20, the brand has pledged a kit for every six being hit in the tournament.
The sport you like playing apart from cricket?
I love playing all types of sports, and I encourage people to pick up any sport that they find enjoyable and fulfilling. My vision has been to transform India from a sport-loving nation to a sport-playing nation. Last time I was in Dubai, I witnessed the Fitness Village of which DP World is also a part. To see sports being used as a medium for bringing society together and keeping citizens fit was very encouraging.
I love playing racquet sports, including new-age ones like Padel and Pickleball. I am curious to see how these new sports catch the imagination of fans worldwide.
How have you been spending your time after retirement, in your 2nd innings?
I used to bat on the field earlier. Now, I have a responsibility of batting off the field. Giving back to society has been a key focus for me and my family. Through the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, we aim to positively impact the lives of children through interventions in the areas of sports, health, and education.
Apart from this, there are purpose-driven partnerships that my team at SRT Sports Management (SRTSM) strives to achieve. The relationship with DP World is one such example of a “partnership with purpose”.
On the personal front, I have been able to spend more time with family and go on vacations together, something that I have been doing regularly in the last few years. Exploring new places with them has been exciting.
One can get it ‘right’, or one can get it ‘now’; ‘right now’ hardly works. ‘‘
McLaren's Podium Push
McLaren pulled off one of the greatest turnarounds in F1 history. After a dismal first half of the season, skepticism ran high. But Team Principal Andrea Stella saw potential in the upgraded MCL60, and his bold prediction of a resurgence proved prophetic.
Like Jordan's 1998 and McLaren's own 2009 comebacks, Andrea and his team defied expectations. But turnaround requires understanding the problem first. Enter Andrea, the ‘secret weapon’. His keen analysis laid the foundation for success.
Lewis Hamilton's post-Silverstone praise fueled the fire. He described the revamped MCL60 as a 'rocket ship,' aligning with his own vision for Mercedes' development. Aerodynamic upgrades and an overall downforce boost propelled the car forward, putting Mercedes and Ferrari on notice. Even the dominant Max Verstappen felt the heat.
From a meager 17 points before Austria, McLaren went on a scoring frenzy: 12, 30, 28, 16, 8, 4, 24, 33, 47, 23, 14, 26, 2, and 18. A staggering 285 points in just 14 races.
Was this a one-off performance, or the start of something truly remarkable and will this form continue in 2024? Join us as we delve deeper into McLaren's remarkable journey, with exclusive insights from Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing, himself.
Last year's second half was a massive improvement for the team, what do you feel about your prospects this season?
Zak Brown: We're excited about this season, the men and women at the MTC have been working really hard in the off season to continue the upward trajectory that we were on, we can't wait to see what the MCL38 will bring on track this year. Our aim is to consistently push for podiums this year and feel confident that we can deliver that for our fans.
How has the association with DP World added value to Team Papaya?
We have some great partners at McLaren who all contribute to the team and performance in their own way. The first year of our partnership with DP World has exceeded our expectations, they provide a really tangible service, helping us move our racing team around the world in the most efficient way.
One great example is that last season, we worked closely with DP World to achieve an F1 first by testing more sustainable freight logistics between the races in Austin and Las Vegas.
We're excited about building on that success this year and will continue to push boundaries.
What in your view are the three most important ingredients for a Formula One Championship winning team?
First and foremost, it's the people within a team that drive success, whether that is in our commercial team or our pitcrew. At McLaren Racing, we know that our people are our biggest asset.
We have a high-performance no blame culture, which fosters innovation and allows everyone to do their best work. The collaboration, enthusiasm and commitment to each other that our team demonstrates every day is the driving force behind our continued success.
Of course, our drivers are an integral part of the team, you can't have a championship winning team without championship winning drivers, and with Lando and Oscar, the youngest and most exciting driver line-up on the grid, I believe we have just that.
Oscar delivered an incredibly impressive rookie season, and 2023 was Lando's most successful season in Formula 1, so we are certainly on the right trajectory.
Both of our drivers have signed multi-year extensions with us, clearly demonstrating their trust in our ability to deliver for them. This season I know both will be up there and battling at the top of the grid, performing at their best and I'm excited to see what we can achieve together.
We have a highperformance no blame culture, which fosters innovation and allows everyone to do their best work. ‘‘

AHRAIN'S F1 SUCCESS
The desert kingdom of Bahrain set the stage for a momentous occasion as the 2024 Formula One season roared into life. Not only did it mark the official commencement of the year's racing calendar, but it also celebrated a cherished milestone – the 20th anniversary of the Bahrain Grand Prix. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation, fueled not just by the promise of high-octane racing on the track, but also by the presence of a glittering array of luminaries who graced the paddock.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Prime Minister with fans at the Bahrain Grand Prix
Leading the charge was His Royal Highness Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Kingdom of Bahrain, the visionary leader whose foresight and initiative brought Formula One to the shores of Bahrain two decades ago. The race was also attended by the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa with famous footballer Neymar Jr.
Footballing icons like the world-renowned Neymar Jr. and Patrice Evra found themselves rubbing shoulders with prominent figures from the world of entertainment. This included the ever-engaging English television personality Jeremy Clarkson, best known for his acerbic wit on the captivating TV show Top Gear, who waved the chequered flag. Royalty, too, lent its presence to the occasion, with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, attending alongside her daughter Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The presence of Geri Honer née Halliwell, a member of the iconic Spice Girls, was much talked especially in the light of her husband, Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull, being mired in controversy.
As the checkered flag fell, signalling the end of the race, the celebrations shifted to a different gear. The electrifying performance of DJ Diplo pulsated through the night, creating an unforgettable post-race experience for all.
The race itself lived up to the pre-race excitement, delivering a thrilling performance. Red Bull, continuing their dominant run, secured a commanding one-two finish, showcasing their unwavering strength. However, the day held a delightful surprise in the form of Carlos Sainz snatching the third podium spot, surpassing his teammate, Charles Leclerc who had secured a better qualifying position. While Mercedes encountered challenges during the race, highlighting the work ahead for them, Bahrain's beloved team, McLaren, showcased significant progress with their cars, demonstrating impressive speed on the track with Lando Norris coming in 6th while Oscar Piastri finished 8th.

BIC Charts Next Lap :
For two decades, the Bahrain International Circuit, with its instantly recognisable Sakhir Tower backdrop, has been a landmark not just on the F1 map, but in the hearts of Bahrain’s citizens and residents.
Bahrain Grand Prix has held a place of immense pride since its 2004 debut, as the first-ever Formula 1 circuit in the Middle East – truly living up to its title as ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’. This pioneering vision of His Royal Highness Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Kingdom of Bahrain has helped shape the entire narrative of F1 in the region.
Marking a historic milestone, BIC CEO Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa spoke to Life & Style about his vision for the next chapter of the Bahrain International Circuit and more.
Our heartiest congratulations on the grand success of the 20th anniversary of the exhilarating, adrenalinepacked Bahrain Grand Prix. The anticipation for this year's season opener was off the charts as Bahrain saw a record number of visitors for this completely sold-out race. What were the high points of the weekend for you?
Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa: As you said, there were many high points. We welcomed a crowd of 100,000 for the three days of the Bahrain GP which included a record 37,000 people on race day alone. We also had 11,000 fans from overseas, which was our highest ever.
I think that seeing the reaction of these fans, whether that be the on-track action, the family entertainment or the concerts, is always extremely rewarding. Ultimately, we are putting on a show for fans here at the circuit and the millions watching at home. If they leave with memories of a lifetime, then that is something that will always satisfy me.
We know there are usually a lot of moving parts when it comes to hosting such mammoth international events. The BIC, however, seems to run like a well-oiled machine, what has it taken to get to this point, the challenges that you have successfully tackled?
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from our fantastic team at the circuit, along with a lot of coordination and cooperation with our incredible partners in the Bahrain government, including ministries and other relevant agencies. Furthermore, we have a lot of support from the private sector as well, and we of course could not do it without our close relationship with the Bahrain Motor Federation and all those under its umbrella, including the Motorsport Marshals Club and the scores of volunteers. We also work closely with the FIA and F1 throughout the entire organisation and running of the event.
With such a massive operation like this, there will always be challenges, but we deal with them swiftly and efficiently, and we do it with our partners.
Was the race result something you expected and what are your predictions for the season?
It was a tremendous victory for Max Verstappen and Red Bull and we congratulate them on their one-two. It is still very early in the championship to make predictions as there are 23 rounds to go. While Red Bull has shown their class, all the teams will certainly show improvements over the course of the year. It’s also worth noting that some circuits are more suited to some teams compared to others. I think there will be plenty to keep fans on the edge of their seats throughout the season.
We believe most of your career has been in motorsports - what drew you to racing?
I’ve always loved racing. From a young age, I’ve enjoyed the thrill of motorsport and the adrenaline rush of racing and competing against others. It will always be a part of me and I will always enjoy it
What is your vision for the future for the BIC? Continuously innovating and creating new avenues to engage audiences with motorsports and the BIC, like the recent partnership with Winfield Racing School, is a significant accomplishment. What fuels your inspiration and energy for such initiatives?
We want to keep building in all ways that we can and the Winfield partnership is a great example of that. This will enable us to further develop our driver programme, to find the stars of the future in the region. In F1, we have a contract to be on the calendar until at least 2036, so we hope to continue growing our race and what we can offer to fans.
We also have a long-term contract with the World Endurance Championship. Its Hypercar category is growing to be one of the most exciting in all of racing and hosting the Spirit of Le Mans each year is also an honour and great privilege for any track.
The future of BIC is truly very exciting and the best is still to come!

MI Emirates led by West Indies cricketer Nicholas Pooran were the champions of the DP World ILT20 season two. Seen here with Khalid Zarooni, Chairman, DP World ILT20 and Abdulla bin Damitha, CEO and MD, DP World - GCC
Life N Style spoke to David White, CEO, ILT20 and Mubashir Usmani, Secretary General, Emirates Cricket Board to try and decode the success of the DP World ILT20.
The United Arab Emirates has long been a haven for international cricket, hosting prestigious tournaments like the Men's T20 World Cup. However, the arrival of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20) in 2023 marked a significant shift, not just for the UAE but for the global cricket scene as well.
Now, with the second season under it’s belt, the league has successfully surpassed all expectations and become the world’s second most-watched T20 league. It has garnered an astounding viewership of over 161 million in the first 18 matches, with 57% of the audience being under the age of 30. An absolute family entertainment; the league has so far attracted 46% reach from women. It’s clear that the ILT20 has made a profound difference, leaving a lasting impact on the sport and the region.
Showcasing the UAE as a Cricket Powerhouse
With tight matches, big sixes and great catches, DP World ILT20 has definitely captured the imagination of the cricket lover across the globe and has solidified UAE’s reputation as a premier cricket destination.
As David White, CEO of the ILT20 points out, the league has already established itself as one of the top in the world, attracting massive viewership and long-term commitments from stakeholders. He says, “We had an incredible player line-up this season with some of the biggest T20 stars representing the six teams.
Additionally, the league reached out to various communities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah in order to create awareness of the world-class cricketing entertainment that the league offers. This strategic expansion not only elevates the ILT20's global standing but also opens doors for future partnerships and international collaborations"
Mubashir Usmani, Secretary General, Emirates Cricket Board
Global Recognition and Strategic Expansion
The ILT20 has garnered significant global attention, with the involvement of renowned and diverse figures like American businessman Avram Glazer who owns majority stake in the popular English football club Manchester United; Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan of Knight Riders group; GMR group among others in team ownership highlighting its growing stature. Mubashir Usmani points out, “All our six owners are well respected and renowned with a very strong regional and global presence. We are grateful for their trust in the DP World International League T20 and through their unwavering support and passion for cricket we have been able to setup a truly world-class tournament which is competed by the best T20 players from around the world.
The DP World ILT20 has already established itself as one of the top leagues in the world and it will only get bigger and better in the years ahead. The league has a massive broadcast following in India and in all cricket markets globally. Our stakeholders and partners are delighted with how the league has grown in a mere two seasons and have made long term commitments with us. Above all, the tournament continues to benefit the growth and development of UAE cricket which is one of our primary goals.”
Engaging the Community and Cultivating the Future
The ILT20 goes beyond simply showcasing cricket; it actively engages the local community. White highlights initiatives the league has implemented, “We worked hard on creating a vibrant atmosphere across the three venues with a special emphasis on engaging children and families. Children aged 7 to 11 were provided an incredible opportunity of playing at the three venues about 90 minutes prior to the start of each game of the tournament.
We had top quality cricket to showcase through out the tournament as the six teams fought tooth and nail for the top four play-off positions, the group stage went down to the wire as all teams remained in contention of play-offs qualification till the very last game of the tournament.”
These efforts not only boost fan engagement but also nurture the next generation of cricket enthusiasts in the UAE.

Owners’ Perspective
Team owners echo these sentiments. The owner of Dubai Capitals & Corporate Chairman, GMR Group, Kiran Kumar Grandhi, whose team found its groove at the right time and secured a place in the finals says, "The International League T20 has grown by leaps and bounds over the last two seasons. This is obvious with the massive rise in the viewership numbers in ILT20’s second season.
With its focus on strategic expansion, community engagement, and continuous improvement, there is no doubt that the DP World ILT20 is poised to become a major player in the international cricketing arena, shaping the future of the sport not just in the UAE but around the world and, if viewership numbers are anything to go by, is likely to take significantly less time that its more famous counterpart, the Indian Premier League.
The Dubai Capitals have also done very well this season, and we are proud about fighting back till the very end to reach the final of the tournament. Complete with vociferous stadiums, world-class players in the competition and closely-fought battles, the last two seasons have helped in the improvement of UAE cricket in general as well. This is evident in the fact that a UAE player (Waqar Salamkheil) won the White Belt (for most wickets) in season 2. This shows how bright the future of UAE can be."
Mohammad Mansoor, Chairman of Life N Style magazine & of the Advisory Board of Bahrain Cricket Federation in a casual conversation with David Warner
T he Rise Of The Dubai Capitals & Its Stars
The Dubai Capitals was a formidable team in the second season of ILT20, they hit their stride at the right moment and didn't take their eye of the ball.
Life N Style’s special partnership with the team gave us of a ringside view of their journey. A journey that was filled with explosive, heart-stopping moments like Sikander Raza’s last ball six, Sam Billings' stellar batting and brilliant catches despite the departure of their most famous name - captain David Warner who was called up to his national side.
Life N Style had a chat with some of Dubai Capitals' stars to get to know more about them as people as well as cricketers and some of their answers may surprise you.
Warner's genius lies in his explosive left-handed batting, turning him into a T20 titan. He boasts two World Cup titles (2015, and 2023). His 2021 T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament award cemented his prowess, while his fiery spirit led Australia to the 2021-23 World Test Championship. Warner's aggression and calculated risk-taking are his trademarks, making him a feared opponent and a true force on the field. But what most miss is his ability to read his crowd, especially during the T20 matches. In India during ILT20 and IPL, his entry, and his ‘filmy’ gestures got the crowd going. Off the field, Warner prioritises family above all else and you can get a better idea of this side of Warner if you follow him on Instagram. So Life N Style sat down with Warner to get to know the man behind the cricketer a little better.
You have been a part of two Men’s ODI World Cup titles in 2015 and 2023; can you describe your feeling when you walked out to bat in the finals and how you felt after your team won?
David Warner: When you're walking out there, it's quite clearly very special. But I think when you've got the crowd all focused on what's happening in the middle, the attention from the world, it's very special. It can be nerve-wracking at times. But for me, it's more about doing my job and trying to do it to the best of my ability.
The feeling of winning is very, very special, it's out of this world. 2023 was quite heartbreaking for the Indians but to win in India any time is magical so the World Cup final really means a lot.
You're a T20 titan, an absolute beast in the shorter formats. What's your secret to consistently smashing sixes and leading teams to victory?
I think consistency. With the T20 format, the key is being able to adapt to the conditions. Also, watch the ball. You'll have success if you do that. It's quite simple, but it's entertaining. It's all about entertainment, all about getting people to watch. We've got to make sure that we're doing our job, and that's entertaining people by hitting fours and sixes and I really enjoy that.
If you could change one thing about your cricketing journey what would it be?
I don't think I would change anything with my journey. I think it's been a great one. Started with T20 cricket, played Test cricket and will finish with T20 cricket. Maybe, I don't know. You could always train harder. I think that's probably one thing I would change.
Who was your cricketing idol while growing up and do you own any cricketing memorabilia of theirs?
My idols growing up were Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and Ricky Ponting; three great Australian cricket players. And I've got a couple of their posters at home that were on my wall. But my biggest idol is Michael Schumacher.
Most memorable cricketing and non-cricketing moment?
My most memorable cricketing moment quite clearly would be the World Cups, plus the World Test championship. It’s very hard to win these tournaments and they're very close to my heart
Away from the ground, my family is my biggest rock. Absolutely love them to death, and love being a father and a husband.
Cricket isn't your only passion. Tell us about your entrepreneurial ventures.
Yeah, I really do love cricket but away from the field, I’m part owner of a brewery and a vodka distillery. That’s something that I'm passionate about. You know, we Australians love beer, vodka and our cocktails.
So for me, I was passionate about business and I got into it early. It’s something I'm going to enjoy when I step away from the game and try and achieve some great heights with the business.
We hear you are great at golf, tell us a bit about that.
I do enjoy the game and especially because it's a test. The golf ball doesn't move, unlike a cricket ball. So you've only got yourself to blame if you don't hit that golf ball straight. So if you aren’t good at it, you only have yourself to blame.
You are a globe trotter - which has been your favourite destination so far and what's on your travel bucket list?
My favourite destination outside of cricket would be Dubai. I love Dubai. There's so much to do in Dubai with the girls. Go out to restaurants, to relax and chill, and then my second home is India. It's a great place to travel. The food is amazing. The people are so welcoming and lovely. And we as a family we enjoy going there.
Brave CF's Meteoric Rise
At BRAVE Combat Federation events, a unique moment transcends borders. Across 30 countries and five continents, audiences in packed arenas and millions more watching from home, a hush falls over the crowd and they stand up to pay respect as the national anthem of the Kingdom of Bahrain fills the air, signifying the pivotal role this nation is playing in the global transformation of mixed martial arts.
Through the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, BRAVE CF has become the biggest promoter for the Kingdom of Bahrain internationally. The martial arts organisation currently holds the world record for most countries hosted with 30 and is set to reach at least 33 nations visited overall by the end of 2024.
As the Kingdom’s sporting crown jewel and number one sports property in the Middle East, BRAVE Combat Federation has created a true sports economy for martial arts in the region, starting with the success of MMA in Bahrain, with the country being the proud holder of the number one ranking in amateur MMA.
The achievements of Bahrain MMA come in all sectors, as the organisational team of the Bahrain MMA Federation is one of two Bahraini organising teams responsible for putting together events around the world.
BRAVE CF is also the only Bahraini organisation to have a working relationship with the governing body of a sport, as the company signed a partnership deal with the IMMAF in 2023. And it is that ecosystem of mixed martial arts that has changed the landscape of the sport in the Middle East, today the world’s premier hub for combat sports, that makes BRAVE CF such a success story.
The next stage of BRAVE CF is already in motion: to implement that ecosystem around the world and connect it globally. In Europe and Asia, BRAVE CF holds the number one market share, and the company is the only international organisation to host events in Africa.
Under BRAVE CF, the future of MMA is brighter than ever and the fact that it is a Bahraini brand leading the future of a sport makes it extra special for the Kingdom.

I sle of Jura Victorious!
A plan first put in action hatched in Newmarket in July of last year came to glorious fruition in Bahrain as Isle of Jura completed a remarkable winter campaign with an authoritative victory in the $200,000 King’s Cup.
The King’s Cup, run in honour of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, was Isle of Jura’s fourth and most valuable victory of his campaign in Bahrain. Running in the colours of Victorious Racing for HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for trainer George Scott and jockey Callum Shepherd, Isle of Jura won the Listed 2400m race by 2 ¼ lengths from Sovereign Spirit in second, and Panning For Gold in third.
Afterwards, an emotional George Scott said of Isle of Jura’s win in the King’s Cup: “This ranks as the highlight of my career to date, miles ahead of anything else. It’s unbelievable. The King’s Cup is the pinnacle of racing here in Bahrain. What a wonderful horse, he really is a trier.”
Jockey Callum Shepherd has developed an excellent partnership with Isle of Jura and he added: “What a magical winter this horse has given us and for it to culminate in this race is huge. He’s had to overcome adversity here, being virtually knocked over on the first bend. I’m enormously grateful to His Highness Shaikh Nasser, I am so pleased we could do this for him. It was his ambition to win the three races, the ‘triple crown’, and it takes some doing."
Although out of luck with their three runners in the King’s Cup, earlier on the card there was a winner for Godolphin when the talented Real World recorded his first victory in over two years. Ridden by Kevin Stott, who was riding his first winner in Bahrain, Real World dominated the closing stages of the $80,000 Al Methaq Mile.
Now a seven-year-old, and previously twice runner-up to Baaeed in Group 1 races, Real World showed much of his old dash to win eased down from Wowzers and Mehmento, with market rival and last year’s winner Byline unable to land a blow.

Bespoke Masterpiece
Crafted by the marque's exclusive Coachbuild division, the Rolls-Royce Droptails stand out as automotive masterpieces. Each one boasts lavish design elements and transcends the boundaries of typical car manufacturing, resulting in price tags that soar into the tens of millions.
The initial Droptail, La Rose Noire, stunned the world in 2023 by claiming the title of most expensive new car at a staggering $30 million. Its extraordinary bespoke details included a dedicated Champagne vintage and a removable, dash-mounted Audemars Piguet Royal Oak concept, blurring the lines between luxury car and art piece.
The second Droptail, the Amethyst, followed suit with its breathtaking form. Featuring the world's first downforce-generating raw wood deck and a detachable Vacheron Constantin tourbillon, it reaffirmed the Coachbuild division's commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and luxury, even if its price tag remained undisclosed.
Revealing a masterpiece that surpasses its predecessors, Rolls-Royce presents the third version of the Coachbuilt Droptail, aptly named Arcadia after the mythical Greek paradise. Unveiled at a private ceremony in Singapore for its unnamed client, this masterpiece is reportedly worth a staggering $31 million, dethroning the La Rose Noire as the world's most expensive new car.
The Arcadia embodies its namesake, drawing inspiration from the ‘Heaven on Earth’ with a breathtaking duotone paint scheme. The main body gleams in a white paint infused with shimmering aluminum and glass particles, while the car's lower sections, crafted from carbon fiber, are adorned in a bespoke silver shade. The finishing touches come in the form of meticulously mirror-polished 22-inch wheels and the intricate kinks of the vertical grille vanes.
Wood development was central to the vision of the client, who insisted that Arcadia stay as true to its earliest conception as a hand-drawn sketch in 2019. Santos Straight Grain was ultimately chosen, which is particularly vulnerable to tearing under machining.
The yacht-like wooden rear deck, comprised of 76 hand-applied pieces, is laid at a perfect 55-degree angle. And given that the car will be driven internationally in tropical climates, Rolls-Royce spent over 1,000 hours just testing the wood’s lacquer before settling on a single protective coat that will never need to be reapplied.
The inside features a version of the exterior’s bespoke white hue and a contrasting tan colour designed to complement the Santos Straight Grain wood that also makes up Arcadia’s 40-piece shawl panel—the longest continuous wood section ever featured in a Rolls-Royce. Each piece was digitally mapped using CAD tools and laid, like the rear deck, at a perfect 55-degree angle.
The same wood also houses Rolls’ most complex clock face, assembled in the dash over five months and developed over two years. The timepiece incorporates a geometric guilloche pattern in raw metal with 119 facets—a nod to Rolls-Royce’s 119th anniversary in 2023, when the car was first unveiled for the client.
Its hands and indices are partly polished, partly brushed and 0.1mm thick—Rolls-Royce claims that it held this particular timepiece to higher standards than those of even the world’s finest watchmakers. The clock’s guilloche pattern is also referenced in the instrument dials.
Though Arcadia has set the bar extremely high, don’t be surprised if Rolls-Royce somehow creates something even more magnificent for the fourth and final Coachbuild Droptail commission.

Diplomat's View A
In an exclusive, engaging conversation with British Ambassador to Bahrain, Alastair Long, we delve into the dynamic relationship between the UK and Bahrain, exploring key areas of collaboration, navigating current challenges, and looking toward a future of shared prosperity. Ambassador Long, with his extensive experience and insightful perspective, offers valuable insights into the political, economic, and social dimensions of this crucial partnership.
Your Excellency, we recently implemented an electronic travel authorisation system, simplifying travel between our nations. How do you see its impact?
Alastair Long: It's a significant development for both countries. I hope it increases trade and business opportunities. Bahrainis already visit the UK in large numbers, but this makes it easier, potentially encouraging them to spend more time there.
Looking back at your diverse postings in Africa and the Middle East, from Egypt to Oman and UAE, what are some of your most cherished memories, unique cultural experiences or encounters that stand out the most?
Everywhere I've served, I've had wonderful experiences. From drifting down the Nile to the mountains of Oman, the scenery has been breathtaking. But truly, it's the people who have coloured my imagination. They're so hospitable and charming, reminding me that people everywhere are eager to connect.
How does Bahrain compare to your previous postings?
I've never felt more welcome than in Bahrain. Perhaps it's something about islands, both the UK and Bahrain. We're outward-looking, engaging, and enterprising. With Bahrainis, I feel a familiarity, an understanding, a shared sense of purpose. That excites me.
Your Instagram shows your love for sports (or shall we say Manchester United); from cricket to golf to horse racing, which is closest to your heart?
Oh well, you know, I'm getting a bit old now, but I used to play quite a bit of football and cricket. I absolutely love football. I'm a big Manchester United fan, as you can see from my Instagram, and was incredibly honoured to have met Sir Alex Ferguson.
But I love cricket, too. Really passionate about it. I love those summer afternoons in the UK, standing in the field watching the cricket balls spin around. But we Brits, we just love sport, we love tennis, golf, darts, you name it. And I just think sport has a wonderful way of uniting people.
Formula One is huge in Bahrain; whom do you support? And what do you think of Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025?
F1 is huge in the UK, with many teams based there. It contributes greatly to our economy and culture. I'm a Lando Norris and McLaren fan, not just because I'm here in Bahrain, but also because he's British and we're rooting for him.
Lewis Hamilton is a legend, I mean, to win that many world championships, and I know he's gunning for the eighth. The move to Ferrari has got us all talking, hasn't it? What the reasons for that might be? But you know, wherever he is - with Mercedes this season and Ferrari next, we wish him success and I really hope he does get that eighth championship.
With a packed schedule as a diplomat, how do you maintain a work-life balance? And what do you like doing in those precious moments?
As a father and diplomat, I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. The most precious thing is talking to them, being with them, and creating experiences together, whether it's exploring Bahrain, doing sports, or simply being outdoors.

Breguet Unveils the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Squelette 5395
Breguet transcends mere watchmaking with the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Squelette 5395, a symphony of intricate mechanics and aesthetic brilliance. This exceptional timepiece features a skeletonised tourbillon movement, a testament to both technical prowess and artistic expression.
A Ballet of Engineering and Beauty:
The heart of the Classique 5395 lies in its remarkable 581 caliber. This ultrathin, self-winding tourbillon movement, a mere 3 millimeters in thickness, ranks among the world's finest. Its creation demanded a series of intricate adjustments, such as placing the rotor peripherally to preserve both a sleek profile and a clear view of the intricate mechanism. The tourbillon itself underwent a complete redesign, featuring a unique architecture with a titanium carriage that engages directly with the gear train, further enhanced by a distinctive angled silicon escapement.
A Feast for the Eyes
The 581 caliber, already a masterpiece in previous models, now embodies the concept of lightness and transparency in its fully skeletonised form. The challenge lies in removing the maximum material while maintaining the technical integrity of each element, a task further amplified by the chosen medium – gold. Breguet, one of the last watchmakers to master this art, ensures an impeccable execution.
Sophistication & Minimalism
The masterpiece resides within a fluted case topped with a domed sapphire crystal, offering a breathtaking perspective of the movement. The minimalist yet sophisticated design is further enhanced by applied hour markers in blued gold, a galvanised dial with laser-engraved and blue-varnished timer markings, and traditional Breguet elements like blued moon-tipped hands and soldered horns.
Available in either rose or platinum cases, the Classique

eraciel: Crafting Couture Real Estate
Teraciel Properties is the epitome of couture real estate. It’s where artistry meets opulence. The boutique real estate firm is a part of the Teraciel group, an architecture and interior design firm founded in 1985. They are the custodians of ultra-luxury living, crafting bespoke masterpieces that transcend trends.
The director of Teraciel group (of which Teraciel properties is a part), Ujjwal Goel, at the age of 27, was featured on the Forbes 30 under 30. 'Having taken over the business in 2014 at the age of 22, Ujjwal Goel increased turnover by 60 times within four years, from $2.5 million in 2013 to $150 million worth of ongoing projects in 2018. Turning the family-run business into a corporate establishment,' were the words the prestigious publication used to describe used to describe Ujjwal Goel.
Since then Goel, Director, Teraciel Group has taken his company on a stratospheric rise and has become a name to be reckoned with. In a region saturated with luxury properties, his work stands out as unique and tasteful, as evidenced by the fact that the company has done work for several palaces in the region.
Intrigued by his sheer brilliance and business acumen, Life N Style, in an exclusive conversation with Ujjwal Goel, delved deeper into what inspires and motivates him in a bid to find out more about the secret of his unparalleled success at such a young age.
Building on the success of Teraciel Group, you have established Teraciel Properties in the UAE as a separate entity and grown the business to be worth upwards of AED 750 million in an exceptionally short period of less than half a decade. That’s incredible! To begin with, we would love to know the story behind this rapid success.
Ujjwal Goel: The journey of Teraciel Properties in the UAE has indeed been an incredible ride, which began in 2014 when I arrived in Dubai with a vision focused on trading. However, seizing opportunities is a key principle and the initial foray into fit-out works for villas proved to be a pivotal turning point. From these humble beginnings, we expanded ambitiously, scaling up to handle the intricate fit-out works for palaces.
Recognising a significant demand in Africa, we extended these services to cater to large-scale projects, including airports, convention centers, parliamentary buildings, and five-star hotels. This expansion not only showcased our adaptability but also highlighted our commitment to meeting diverse demands in the global market.
The Imperial is described as a groundbreaking achievement. Could you elaborate on the distinct features contributing to its value and desirability?
The Imperial has an astounding architectural aesthetic, including a French Colonial design mix that makes it stand out as a regal, one-of-a-kind mansion. With a limestone marble facade and touches of timeless elegance towards the exterior, we have created a project that undeniably stands the test of time as a bespoke offering built for the most discernible clientele.
Furthermore, the villa is furnished with bespoke, customdesigned furniture by the renowned ANCA - expert artisans who immortalise innovative and creative designs.
This allowed us to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality with high-end veneers and semi-precious stones.
Ujjwal Goel, Director of Teraciel Group
Intricate marble work including semi-precious mother-ofpearl inlays have been integrated to deliver something unparalleled in the market. The beautiful marble work is common in ultra-luxury villas, but the mother-of-pearl inlays are a market first.
A Steinway & Sons, a self-playing piano, provides a multisensory experience the moment you enter the house and the inclusion of open courtyards enhance the villa’s design, providing a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces.
Looking ahead, what inspired projects can we expect from Teraciel Properties, and how does the company plan to continue setting new benchmarks in the global real estate industry?
Our investment strategy focuses on the most prime locations. For example, across the brimming Dubai Real estate market, Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Hills and Jumeirah Bay are the key locations that are particularly promising in the UAE Market. Driven by an ambition to repeatedly one-up ourselves, we can confidently say that potential buyers can rest assured that each new project we unveil will be unique in its own right and provide an incomparable real estate asset that cannot be found in any market - irrespective of geographic location.
It is imperative to explore the mind behind the thoughtful spaces you create. What is your soul food? Which travel destination rejuvenates you?
As it relates to my creative process, the essence lies in simplicity, and my soul food undoubtedly aligns with this philosophy – simple Indian home food. There's a profound comfort and nourishment that I find in the authentic flavours and traditional dishes that are prepared with love. It serves not just sustenance for the body but also feeds my soul.
In terms of rejuvenation through travel, California has long held a special place in my heart. The diverse landscapes, the innovative spirit, and the cultural vibrancy of the state offer a perfect escape. However, more recently, my travels have extended to Boston, where I dedicate a month each year to a program at Harvard Business School. This immersive experience has become a wellspring of rejuvenation for me. The time spent at HBS brings a fresh perspective, ignites new ideas, and leaves me rearing to go and grow.
The most important thing is to add value to society at large, and the only way to do this is to gain clarity on how you can fill market gaps. To quote Maya Angelou, “You can't know where you are going until you know where you have been.”
Coming from a gifted entrepreneurial mind, what personal message would you like to extend to young innovative minds out there?
To the young and innovative minds out there, I extend a heartfelt message rooted in the lessons of my entrepreneurial journey. Firstly, dare to dream big. Embrace audacious goals and allow your imagination to soar beyond conventional boundaries.
Secondly, heed the power of working in the quiet. Amidst the noise and hustle, find solace in focused, diligent work. Embrace the process, relishing the journey as much as the destination.
Importantly, stay grounded. No matter how high you climb, maintaining humility is key. Success should be a ladder to lift others, not a platform to boast.
Furthermore, have a larger purpose. Beyond personal success, consider how your endeavours contribute to the greater good.
Lastly, execute for that purpose. Turn your dreams into actionable plans, and tirelessly work towards their realisation. These principles have been the cornerstone of my entrepreneurial journey, and I believe they can be guiding lights for the innovative minds shaping the future.

ubai Bling: Unveiling the Glitz, Glamour, and Controversies with Ebraheem Al Samadi
In the opulent realm of Dubai, where every sunset casts a golden glow and every skyline shimmers with promise, one name is on everyone’s lips, especially since the announcement of the upcoming Season 3: Ebraheem Al Samadi. As the charismatic force behind the cultural phenomenon that is Dubai Bling, Ebraheem epitomises the pinnacle of luxury, intrigue, and unyielding ambition.
In our exclusive interview with Ebraheem, we peel back the layers of glamour to uncover the essence of the man behind the screen. From his most extravagant purchases to whispered controversies, Ebraheem's journey through the dazzling world of reality television offers a glimpse into the tumultuous highs and lows of Dubai's elite society.
Congratulations on the launch of Besties Cafe! How has the restaurant been doing since its opening?
Ebraheem Al Samadi: Thank you! The cafe's soft opening on December 1st was met with tremendous success. In fact, our sales doubled upon the show's release on December 13th. The response has been overwhelming, and we couldn't be happier.
A prominent storyline in season two of Dubai Bling focused on the conflict with between you and Zeina. Has it been resolved and how do you feel about its portrayal in the show?
Zeina doesn't really have much of a storyline, and her storyline is basically me. So she tries to prolong things and to make them about her. For me, I just want to get things over with, finish and just to move on. But apparently, she she likes to drag things out.
What's the biggest misconception about Dubai Bling?
Many believe the show is scripted due to its seamless storytelling. However, Dubai Bling thrives on authentic personalities curated by a skilled casting team.
What's the most extravagant purchase you've ever made impulsively?
Despite my modest approach to materialism, I once splurged on a bracelet worth AED180,000. It was a fleeting indulgence to celebrate a milestone.
What's the one thing money can't buy you in the City of Gold?
Happiness! True contentment stems from meaningful actions and inner peace, far beyond material wealth.
When did you realise Dubai Bling had become a massive hit?
It dawned on me when my words echoed across TikTok, and people worldwide were repeating my dialogues. Even people who did not know Arabic, were speaking the language, imitating what I had said. It was surreal to witness the show's rapid ascent to global fame.
What has been one of your most memorable moment from your past?
My bachelor party, where I chose to honour my mother, stands out. It was a poignant reminder of familial bonds amidst the glitz and glamour.
Spill the (gold-dusted) tea: what's the most outrageous rumor you've heard about your Dubai Bling lifestyle, and how hilariously untrue is it?
The absurd notion that my wedding was staged! That was the most absurd thing I have heard. Why would someone go through a fake wedding? It's baffling how such rumours gain traction amidst reality.
A Message for your Future Self…
Remember: true happiness is paramount, regardless of public perception.
As the sun sets on our conversation, Ebraheem Al Samadi's words linger, a testament to the complexities and contradictions of Dubai's lavish landscape. With season three on the horizon, the saga of Dubai Bling promises to captivate audiences anew, weaving a tapestry of aspiration, ambition, and unabashed extravagance.

Bahrain's Arcapita Mosque transcends structure. Bathed in natural light, its serene, monochromatic interior fosters prayerful calm. Intricate mashrabiah screens, echoing Kufic calligraphy, grace the walls, offering privacy for women's prayer areas. Regional stone, marble, and fabric panels create a symphony of sound, while hidden utilities prioritise tranquillity. This fusion of modern design and Islamic tradition earned Arcapita the Abdullatif Al Fozan Award, a testament to its architectural brilliance.

TheIslamic Centre of Rijeka Croatia
Croatia's coastal gem, Rijeka, holds a unique treasure - the Islamic Center. This architectural marvel is the first mosque built on the Adriatic shores in five centuries. Its five graceful, modern concrete domes, sleek facade clad in shimmering stainless steel which reflects the sea's embrace and a slender minaret that pierces the sky provides a modern interpretation of a traditional structure.
Eschewing traditional embellishments, the space inside prioritises light and clean lines. With a congress centre, restaurant, and even apartments creating a vibrant space for the community to connect and flourish, it's a bridge between tradition and progress, a symbol of cultural exchange, and a stunning addition to Europe's architectural landscape.
Masjid KristalMalaysia
Gleaming in the sunlight, this architectural marvel evokes both Arabian fairytales and the Taj Mahal's grandeur. Clad in shimmering glass and steel, it earns its name as sunlight dances on its surface.
The main dome, flanked by eight smaller ones, crowns the structure, each adorned with a crescent moon. Four minarets with glass exteriors, inspired by Ottoman design, reflect the vibrant colours that illuminate the mosque at night.
Inside, its walls are adorned with intricate Islamic calligraphy etched onto the surrounding glass. A lush floral carpet complements the white and gold accents, creating a serene atmosphere for prayer and reflection.
Cordoba Spain Mosque of
The Grand Mosque's story whispers of a city that embraced change, transforming from a Roman temple to a Visigothic church before finding its final form as a magnificent mosque in 784 AD.
It is a breathtaking fusion of Islamic and local architectural styles. Rows of exquisite horseshoe arches interlace with red and white stonework, creating a mesmerizing forest of light and shadow. Sunlight streams through a complex double-arched roof system, an innovation that allowed for a vast, column-filled space while maintaining structural integrity.
Step inside the hypostyle hall and be captivated by a staggering 856 columns, the most ever used in a single building! These columns, repurposed from Roman and Visigothic structures, stand in majestic rows, their varied styles a testament to the city's rich past. Look up and marvel at the intricate geometric patterns adorning the ceiling, a mesmerising display of Islamic artistry.
Sultan Qaboos The
Grand Mosque, Oman
Dominating Muscat's skyline, the majestic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque blends Islamic, Middle Eastern, and Omani architectural styles. Sunlight streams through, illuminating a world of artistic wonders. The second-largest hand-woven carpet in existence, boasting 1.7 billion knots, adorns the prayer hall. A colossal chandelier, one of the world's largest, twinkles with Swarovski crystals. Intricate mosaics dance across the walls, while handcrafted timber panels echo traditional Omani ceilings. The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a dazzling testament to faith, artistry, and serenity.
Esrefogul Mosque
Turkiye
Built in 1297, it's a rare survivor, one of the few remaining wooden mosques from the Seljuk era.
From the street, an unassuming stone facade greets visitors. But step inside, and a breathtaking transformation unfolds. A forest of fifty wooden columns, adorned with intricate muqarnas capitals, soars skyward, supporting a timber roof. Light streams in from strategically placed wells, guiding the eye towards the richly decorated mihrab, a sanctuary of turquoise and black tiles.
This rectangular hall, a testament to early Anatolian Turkish architecture, boasts a unique diagonal entrance, drawing the faithful towards the heart of the mosque.
It is also on the list of World Heritage tentative list as it includes all the main elements of early Anatolian Turkish architecture and is the biggest, best preserved wooden columned and roofed mosque in Islamic world.
Lady Aisha Mosque
Jeddah, KSA
Jeddah's skyline boasts a unique gem - Lady Aisha Mosque. Unlike its traditional counterparts, this contemporary marvel defies expectations. A sleek, conical exterior, devoid of a dome at first glance, hints at its unconventional nature.
But the towering minaret reveals its true purpose. Step inside and discover a surprisingly plain interior, a stark contrast to the vibrant city outside. Yet, a breathtaking spectacle awaits. The mimbar, the place where sermons are delivered, takes centre stage.
Forgone is the traditional semi-circular shape; instead, a magnificent rectangular structure crafted from crystal glass shimmers like a stalactite formation. Light dances and refracts within its facets, creating a mesmerizing focal point
The Lady Aisha Mosque is a testament to the evolution of Islamic architecture. It's a place of worship that embraces modern design, a beacon of innovation that inspires and uplifts the soul.
Aromatic Adventures: Chef
Vineet Bhatia
& Art of Creating Flavour
He is known for his innovative and modern approach to Indian cuisine, emphasising flavour depth and playful use of spices. Holding an exclusive double Michelin star crown, Chef Vineet possesses the rare distinction of being one of the few British chefs to conquer Michelin's demanding standards in more than one nation.
The Superstar Chef also recently became the first Michelin-starred chef of Indian origin to be awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire), an honour that was bestowed upon him by King Charles II.
He has tasted success on TV and Netflix as a part of acclaimed shows like MasterChef and The Final Table and has a vibrant personality which goes well with his funky-coloured glasses.
Life N Style took a delectable journey through the world of Chef Vineet Bhatia, savouring his insights on his culinary philosophy, inspirations, and signature style.
Balancing Tradition with Innovation
Throughout our conversation, Chef Vineet emphasised the cornerstone of his success: consistency and a personalised approach. He stressed the importance of catering to individual desires, transforming dining into a memorable experience. He eloquently describes his culinary approach as a ‘magic carpet ride of spices’, where classic flavours are adorned with modern interpretations, striking a delicate balance between tradition and innovation. He says that this is the reason for the success of Rasoi by Vineet at the Gulf Hotel which celebrates its ninth anniversary.
Chef Vineet explains, "Every guest who comes in has got different aspirations, desires and a set idea of how they want to be treated. I think as restauranteurs and hoteliers, we try to anticipate those needs and train our people accordingly. It is not just about the food and the service that you give them, but it is also the bells and whistles around it that make it a complete experience. For me, that means giving them a memorable experience that makes them want to come back. If I can do that, I feel my job is done!"
Beyond the plate, the restaurant prioritises creating a memorable experience for each guest. Catering to individual preferences and ensuring comfort and warmth go handin-hand with the innovative cuisine. This focus on personal connection goes beyond mere service and fosters a loyal following amongst diners seeking a unique and welcoming atmosphere.
Navigating the Spice Trail: Tradition & Innovation
As a pioneering chef with two Michelin-starred restaurants on different continents, navigating the delicate dance between preserving the authenticity of Indian cuisine and incorporating modern culinary techniques is a constant pursuit. Taking about this balance, Chef Vineet says, "While fiercely proud of my heritage, I believe true innovation requires staying rooted in tradition, using it as a springboard for creativity.
Even while catering to the European palate, when you close your eyes and taste the food, is India on your palate? So that flavour, that taste of India, should never really disappear.
Guests often wonder what to expect, seeking both familiarity and something extraordinary. How do we achieve this? By presenting the meal in diverse courses, each with its unique flair. Chicken Tikka or the Galoti Kebab, the presentation might surprise, the combinations might intrigue, but the soul of the dish - its flavour - remains firmly rooted in tradition. Seeing guests surprised yet deeply satisfied by unexpected twists on beloved dishes is the ultimate reward, reaffirming that innovation always serves the legacy of the cuisine."
International recognition & the coveted Michelin star
Chef Vineet was the first to put Indian fine dining on the global stage. He broke barriers and became the first chef who worked with fine dining Indian cuisine to be awarded a Michelin star. "The first Michelin star was really special, etched in my memory forever. To be the first Indian restaurant to receive it in 2001 was utterly unexpected! It was a casual phone call which informed me of the honour and I thought it was a prank call. It took me a while to truly comprehend what we'd achieved.
Back then, Indian cuisine felt far removed from Michelin's orbit. "India will never get it," I used to tell my wife. Yet, there we were, shattering expectations. This wasn't just about me; it opened doors for countless Indian chefs worldwide to see their cuisine in a new light. Remember, this was pre-Google's dominance era; information travelled slowly through magazines and newspapers.
But Michelin stars are marathons, not sprints. We've been at it for nearly 40 years now, built on consistency and unwavering quality. Expanding from London to Geneva, and maintaining the same level of excellence across continents, was unheard of back then.
Ultimately, it's about the cuisine. Putting Indian food on the world stage is a true accomplishment. Sure, some might call it genius to maintain such standards, but for me, it's not about grand titles. Cooking is my passion, my daily party, where I welcome guests into my culinary home. Each interaction, and each satisfied smile fuels my joy. It's not just work; it's the very essence of who I am.”
Chef Vineet Bhatia's culinary journey is a testament to his dedication to both tradition and innovation. He uses his platform to elevate Indian cuisine on a global scale, while ensuring a personal touch that leaves a lasting impression on every guest. As Chef Vineet himself says, "It's not just about the food; it's about the experience."
