The magazine from the interior experts SPRING

NOTE FROM
the Editor...
Another year brings new beginnings and a chance to reset our spaces. Decorating is about renewal and rebuilding, it reflects changes in our mood, and as our tastes evolve, we continue telling our own stories through our homes and businesses.
We are proud of our global business and our interactions with our customers all around the world, as we help you find your perfect decorating solutions, not just through beautiful products, but also with hints, tips and videos on how to get the best results. Sharing your projects with us on social media platforms is so exciting to see, so keep it up.

It has been exciting to work on more exclusive collections for our brand, working alongside Laura Ashley, celebrating 100 years of an icon, and the latest Timothy Wilman Home collection which brings the countryside into our homes. Both offer beautiful, classic design.
The trend for small prints has grown this season, and they are being used alongside bolder designs, often with panelling. Stripes too have moved forward with a wavey trend, that is great fun, as softer curves sit alongside more formal stripes. Murals have become the obvious statement to make when you want to shout “design”. If you are going to wallpaper, don’t be frightened to go for it. Thank you for your continued interest in our products and the huge number of samples we send around the world every day shows us just how creative you are.
A final mention goes to our fabulous front cover wallpaper by the equally fabulous Isabelle Boxall – which launched this spring - just keep swimming and keep it fun.
Happy decorating!

Little Greene is an independent, family-run UK business with a small factory in the foothills of Snowdonia and a Head Office based in Manchester and here they introduce their sixth wallpaper collection created in collaboration with the National Trust – In the Garden.
Inspired by the formal gardens, grand estates, humble horticultural collections, individual plants, and historical floral artefacts cared for and conserved by the charity, this collection celebrates botanical beauty in all its forms. Each design carries historic provenance, including May’s Tulip, an Arts & Crafts scrolling floral created by William Morris’s daughter, May; the vibrant, expansive Castle Garden mural, depicting the cherished ‘garden rooms’ at Sissinghurst in Kent; and Mr Straw’s Greenhouse, inspired by a modest collection of cacti belonging to a much-loved 1930s grocer in Nottinghamshire.
The wallpapers are produced using a combination of traditional and contemporary manufacturing techniques, from authentic surface-printing presses to cutting-edge digital machines, each selected to enhance the character and quality of these striking designs.
Little Greene’s Creative Director, Ruth Mottershead, comments: “It’s a real privilege to work with the National Trust, Europe’s largest conservation charity. Whereas previous collaborative collections have focused on interiors, our ‘In the Garden’ collection shines a light on the incredible gardens and grounds in the Trust’s care. Bringing the colour and joy of nature and flowers in bloom, there is something for everyone in this wonderfully eclectic collection; from the simple, often overlooked daisy to the elaborate, sweeping planting of Sissinghurst Castle.”
One of two mural designs in this collection, Lily Pads has been inspired by the Stackpole Estate in the south-west corner of Wales, where nature thrives in over five square miles of protected coastline, farmland, forestry and lakes. Besides sightings of bats in the woodland and dolphins in the sea, one of the visitor highlights are the wild otters which can sometimes be spotted amongst the lily pads, dragonflies and kingfishers, within the estate’s 100 acres of lakes.
With a very different design legacy and taking its inspiration from a late 19th century wallpaper found at Oxburgh Hall, this simplified pattern of daisy flowers, Moon Daisies captures the charm of the flowers, with a dappled light-like effect.

Clumped bursts of ancient colour, in the form of rhododendrons and azaleas, have famously accompanied woodland and lakeside walks in the grounds of National Trust properties and here inspire this abundance of blooms in the Rhododendron Walk wallpaper design.
May Morris, the daughter of celebrated Arts & Crafts design icon William Morris, inherited not only her father’s business but his creativity too. The trailing May’s Tulip design is inspired by a beautiful set of late-19th-century weaves showing sprawling tulips, lovingly set into panels as a room divider. Giving us this quintessentially English pattern.
And the Rose Garden wallpaper is inspired by the walled rose garden at Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire and features a voluptuous climbing rose in full bloom set against neutral stonework, giving a very contemporary look to this classic trailing rose.

BORÅSTAPETER
The brand proudly welcomes two new names to the acclaimed group: beloved ceramicist Lisa Larson and celebrated Norwegian designer Turi Gramstad Oliver.
Arne Jacobsen – Dikesren
Our love of Scandinavian style, combined with a fascination for mid-century design, is perfectly embodied in the collections from Swedish wallpaper house Boråstapeter. This season, the brand has returned to its national design archive - a remarkable treasure trove of patterns. Not just wallpapers, but textiles, paintings, drawings, and sketches. Many of these originals have long been tucked away, perhaps even forgotten, in drawers and boxes where their designers once placed them.

From this archive, Boråstapeter has selected some of the most beautiful works, created by some of the modern era’s greatest designers and brought them back to life as wallpaper. Each pattern carries a timeless beauty: both innovative and true to its time.
Lisa Larson – Zebra

Together, they capture the essence of Scandinavian style - modern, elegant, and effortlessly natural. On the wall, they become more than wallpaper; they shape the atmosphere of a room and evoke emotion throughout the home. Some designs are already cherished favourites, while others are ready to be rediscovered.
In this fourth Scandinavian Designers collection, the brand proudly welcomes two new names to the acclaimed group: beloved ceramicist Lisa Larson and celebrated Norwegian designer Turi Gramstad Oliver. They join returning greats Stig Lindberg, Arne Jacobsen, Viola Gråsten, Alvar Aalto, and Gocken and Lisbet Jobs.

This second edition of Timothy Wilman Home by British designer Tim Wilman celebrates the beauty of English country gardens, with abundant florals and charming miniature prints inspired by nature’s quiet elegance and timeless rural appeal. Designed to bring the outdoors in, the collection creates a sense of serenity through patterns that feel rich in heritage, warmth, and effortless style.
The collection brings together beautifully coordinated designs, blending classic motifs with usable modern colours such as soft peach, blush pink, and elegant greens. It also features two striking statement murals. Each design flows seamlessly into the next, making it easy to create a cohesive and inviting home.
We recently caught up with Tim at the Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne, set amidst a picturesque English country garden. Speaking about the new collection he said: “It’s a fantastic follow on from my last collection. We decided to go a lot brighter and try to get more of an English country theme. The colour palette is a little bit

cleaner and fresher as well as including the small-scale designs which we didn’t have in the first collection, which are so popular right now. These designs are incredibly easy to decorate with.”

THE ART OF CREATING HARMONY
Based in Barcelona, Spain, the team at Coordonné believes in beauty as a way to enrich everyday life.
Every interior design or architectural project is unique, each with its own technical requirements and distinct aesthetic aspirations. Yet all share a common goal: to offer clients a comprehensive solution that brings together different formats and materials, ensuring they harmonise within a single space.
Their name - etymologically linked to the idea of being “coordinated” - reflects this philosophy.

FLORAL INSPIRATIONS
LINKING EAST AND WEST
There is something uniquely exciting about uncovering historical treasures and decorative patterns that have stood the test of time. For this collection, Coordonné has explored damask designs and botanical motifs inspired by the Silk Road and the ancient trade route where spices and textiles carried Eastern influences into Europe, ultimately becoming a lasting part of European décor.
With the Damaskus collection, Coordonné revisits acanthus leaves and floral motifs drawn from diverse sources and artistic traditions, honouring the heritage of traditional Damascus looms and their mastery of brocades and jacquards.

THE JEWEL OF SPAIN, SEVILLE
Each brushstroke in the Sevilla collection brings to life the childhood memories of painter Coqui Ybarra, who grew up in one of Spain’s most beautiful cities.
Echoes of Al-Andalus, sunlit courtyards, and vibrant blooms infuse each design. This Ybarra & Serret for Coordonné collection evokes Andalusia’s warmth through spontaneous linework and reflects a beautiful and enduring partnership between Coqui and Coordonné.

URBAN AND ETHNIC IN ONE SINGLE COLLECTION
Who could imagine that patterns drawn from our bustling cities could be translated onto raffialike textures, creating a striking visual dialogue between tradition and the avant-garde?
That’s precisely what the Coordonné team has achieved with the Urban Tribe collection for their brand Tres Tintas
Brought to life on their bamboo paper, which is a wallpaper made from 100% recycled cellulose, with an interwoven fibre structure that gives it the look and feel of raffia. It’s one of the key materials this Barcelona-based brand champions as it advances on its path toward sustainability.

Handcrafted Wallpaper From Farrow & Ball: Bring Spring Into Your Space
Spring brings a sense of possibility and new beginnings. Channel that same optimism into your home with wallpaper inspired by the outdoors – it’s an easy way to refresh your space and bring natural energy and year-round uplift to any room.
Walls: Helleborus in Green
Colours inspired by nature
When it comes to bringing the outdoors in, colour is key. Shades drawn from nature — leafy greens, soft pastels, fresh neutrals — instantly create a calm, grounded backdrop that feels connected to the landscape beyond your windows. These lighter hues make a space feel open and restorative, and pair beautifully with botanical patterns and natural textures.
But deeper colours can be just as effective. Rich forest greens like Green Smoke and Calke Green offer an immersive, cocooning feel. Rather than overwhelming a room, these saturated shades evoke woodland depth and natural shade, adding sophistication and a sense of retreat.

The power of pattern
Pattern has an incredible ability to shift the mood of a room, bringing everything from gentle movement to full-on energy. Light, leafy designs like Jasmine or small-scale florals like Uppark create a soothing environment that’s ideal for bedrooms, studies or anywhere you want calm.
At the other end of the spectrum, big, expressive botanicals or large-scale motifs make an immediate impact. Oversized leaves or bold blooms like Helleborus can make a space feel vibrant and joyous, while more orderly geometric patterns like Stripe lend structure and balance.
Walls: Adelaïde
Walls: Wisteria
Scale plays a role too: larger patterns can visually expand a room by blurring its boundaries, while smaller repeats feel more intimate and cosy. Stripes, whether bold or barelythere, can stretch a space vertically or horizontally, subtly shifting proportions.
Whatever your style, pattern is an effortless way to introduce character, whether you want quiet charm or something striking that sets the tone of the room.

The Beauty of Small
GP & J Baker’s House Small Prints II Collection, curated with Sean Symington
In a design world that often celebrates bold statements and large-scale patterns, there’s something quietly captivating about the charm of the small print. The House Small Prints II collection from GP & J Baker, created in collaboration with interior designer Sean Symington, reminds us that beauty doesn’t need to shout to make an impact. Subtle, versatile, and richly layered, this collection of finely detailed fabrics and wallpapers offers a masterclass in understated decoration.
A Collaboration Rooted in Timeless Design
Known for his vibrant interiors and ability to blend traditional and modern styles, Sean Symington brings a fresh perspective to GP & J Baker’s heritage. Together, they’ve explored the brand’s archive to curate a collection of small-scale designs that feel both historic and contemporary.
Creating Layers and Character
One of the collection’s greatest strengths is its ability to build layers within a room. Start with a small-print wallpaper, perhaps the delicate dots of Tuffley or the leafy rhythm of Symington, then add complementary textiles on upholstery, cushions, or blinds. Mix in bolder patterns on statement pieces to create contrast and flow.
Because these prints are subtle, they allow art, furniture, and objects to shine. A gallery wall hung over a soft floral or stripe gains depth and harmony, giving each piece a more integrated setting. In this way, small prints act as the perfect backdrop—enriching a room’s atmosphere while letting other elements take centre stage.
Proof that small prints can be as striking as they are subtle.
Each pattern tells a story—drawn from GP & J Baker’s storied past yet reimagined for modern interiors. From the graceful Tetbury Stripe to the delicate whimsy of Penny, named after Symington’s beloved dog, these designs embody quiet elegance and timeless appeal.

Effortlessly Timeless
Ultimately, House Small Prints II captures the essence of GP & J Baker: artistry, heritage, and enduring style. Each design has been chosen not only for its historical significance but also for its continued relevance—proof that small-scale patterns can be as impactful as larger ones.
Whether adding personality to a kitchen, warmth to a bedroom, or depth to a living space, these designs bring effortless charm and sophistication. Used alone or layered with coordinating wallpapers and fabrics, they form the foundation of a home that feels authentic and beautifully lived in.
With this collection, GP & J Baker demonstrates that the beauty of small prints lies in their quiet confidence. They may whisper rather than shout, but their effect is timeless, inviting, and infinitely versatile.
The full collection and all GP & J Baker wallpapers can be viewed and sampled at wallpaperdirect.com.

Drawing inspiration from the expressive fluidity of turn of the century artwork, Artisan Studio from York Wallcoverings offers an exploration of colour, abstraction, and organic forms

An introduction to York Wallcoverings:
For more than a century, York Wallcoverings has been creating wallpaper from its original factory in the scenic Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania. Today, it stands as the oldest and largest wallcovering manufacturer in the United States, producing residential and commercial wallpapers, found in homes and spaces across 85 countries. Artistry and Archives, York’s extensive archives hold thousands of original designs dating back to the early 18th century, offering a constant source of inspiration for its artists and designers. The York Studio is renowned for its craftsmanship and creativity and has the largest and most productive wallpaper studio in the world.
Their latest Artisan Studio collection draws much of its inspiration from Matisse’s renowned cut-out works. Abstract forms and painterly finishes run throughout the designs, while a contemporary mid-century modern character emerges through an updated retro colour palette.
Rich colour blocking highlights the fluidity of form in Brushwork Branches, and the grand, sculptural stalks of Sculpted Vines create a striking, stripe-like effect with their botanical silhouettes. The organically shaped rectangular rings of Modernist Motif introduce a pattern reminiscent of both decorative tiling and woven textures.

The collection also features the charming Chambord Garden mural, a bold tropical flora scene infused with energy through expressive, painterly brushstrokes. In Mimosa Fleur, Matisse-like abstract blooms are framed by stitched lines, evoking a quilted-tile aesthetic. On the opposite page, Artistic Bouquet showcases a lively wild-

flower garden—perfect for anyone looking to layer more colour and character into their space.
