2020 marks the 80th Anniversary of The Battle of Britain. Back to the 40’s at Biggin Hill – Battle of Britain Weekend takes place on 12th September, visit the website to book your place and be part of this special event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, remembering the men, women and aircraft entwined with Summer 1940.

The gardens at are now open for you to visit. You now need to book your timed tickets in advance. We have introduced limits on visitor numbers to help keep everyone safe, and you won’t be able to visit without your booking confirmation. From 1 August, the ground floor and first floor exhibition of the House will reopened. Due to their enclosed spaces the glass house and laboratory will remain closed. Instead we will be opening the great house meadow to visitors for the first time. The newly-opened meadow and some pathways including the sandwalk can be difficult for wheelchair users. A temporary catering facility in the gardens offering takeaway service of light refreshments.

Library Takeaway

In the initial reopening phase, some libraries will be dishing up a Library Takeaway. What will you order? A bag of thrillers? Cookery books? Documentary DVDs? The process is simple:

1. Connect

Call or email your local library with your interests or to reserve items from our catalogue. Phone numbers can be found on your local library's page.

2. Select

We will handpick and issue your quarantined items and pack them ready for collection.

3. Collect

Your order will be available for collection from your library at a designated time.

Home library service available

The home library service is for residents of Bromley, Dudley, Greenwich, Lincolnshire and Wandsworth who are unable to get to the library and who do not have anyone to go to the local library for them.
