Q: How can I speed up my
Windows PC?
A: Remove unused programs using tool found by typing 'Add or Remove Programs' into the bottom search bar. Restart Windows. Stop programs from unnecessarily starting as soon as Windows boots by holding Ctrl-AltDelete keys, click 'Task-Manager' then 'StartUp'. Disable almost everything. The programs should still work when needed. Re-enable if a problem occurs. If you’re not sure if any program is required, do a websearch or drop me an email. Adam, Tech Assist London, Orpington
Q: What garden maintenance is good for this time of year?
A: Now is the time to keep on top of the weeds with regular hoeing. Hoeing is best done when the soil is dry because it will create a dust mulch that stops the germination of new weeds. Aim to sever the top growth of the weed, just below the soil surface when hoeing, then leave it in the sun to wither and die. A short-handled hoe is good to use for a closely planted areas where you don’t want to damage any plants growing nearby and long-handled hoes are best for larger areas. You will need to dig up deep-rooted or perennial weeds by hand as hoeing won’t kill them. June is also a great time to plant summer bedding flowers and prune spring flowering shrubs (when they have finished flowering). Jonny Grant, A Touch Of Grass
