This report provides a window into the difference LICC has made over the past year, made possible by the generosity and partnership of supporters like you. Whether you’ve prayed, given, or shared our content, thank you!
At LICC, our vision is to see people truly flourish – not only for their benefit, but for the glory of God and the flourishing of those around them. We believe true flourishing comes as people wholeheartedly follow Jesus in every area of life, every day of the week. And we have been working to help people do just that.
In 2024–25, we’ve extended our reach and deepened our impact. We’ve seen a growing openness to the whole-life gospel, with more people recognising their calling to join God’s mission in the world – right where they are, in their daily lives and work. All glory to God!
We hope this report encourages and inspires you. You are part of something really special.
Every blessing,
Paul Woolley CEO, LICC
To see a world transformed for the glory of God through whole-life disciples of Jesus.
To catalyse a movement that envisions and empowers Christians to live as disciples of Jesus in their everyday lives.
‘Jesus is not just offering you a way to life after death but a way to live before death.’ –John Mark Comer, 'Live No Lies'
Whole-life discipleship means following Jesus with every part of who we are –head, heart, and hands – in every part of life, every day of the week.
In truth, it’s the only kind of discipleship Jesus ever called people to. He never invited anyone to follow him with part of their lives or only on Sundays. Discipleship was always meant to be allin. That’s how we’re made to flourish.
Yet in our experience, many Christians don’t feel inspired or equipped to live this way. Many want to make a difference with Jesus in their workplaces, homes, and communities, but don’t know how. Others feel that only time spent doing ‘holy’ things matters, while ‘ordinary’ things get in the way of God’s call on their lives.
We help individuals and churches embrace whole-life discipleship as the norm – not the exception. We believe it’s biblically faithful, missionally essential, and deeply resonant with a generation seeking to connect the gospel to all of life. And we believe every part of life matters deeply to the God who works in ordinary places as well as sacred spaces.
Whole-life discipleship isn’t a new idea, but its relevance today is both urgent and transformative.
We’re catalysing a movement that inspires and equips people to live as disciples of Jesus – whatever they do, whoever and wherever they are.
Inspire Christians to see that their everyday frontlines matter to God and equip them for fruitfulness there
Embed whole-life disciplemaking in the life of the gathered church
Help individuals understand their culture, grapple with complex issues, and live wisely in our time
Grow confidence in the Bible, its whole-life relevance, and its practical application
By 2027, we will engage one million Christians with the vision of whole-life discipleship.
*Frontlines: the places and spaces you spend time, doing the things you normally do, often with people who don’t know Jesus – your workplace, your school, your neighbourhood, online, the gym, or anywhere else.

Inspire Christians to see that their everyday frontlines matter to God and equip them for fruitfulness.
‘LICC has long been a leader in helping ordinary Christians realise that God is deeply present in their daily lives –at work, at home, at the school gate. Their frontline vision continues to inspire and equip people to live out the gospel with purpose and joy wherever God has placed them.’

In our third annual impact survey we discovered that overall, significantly more respondents felt they were currently bearing fruit on their daily frontlines. Compared to our previous survey more people were also regularly praying for opportunities to be fruitful on their frontlines.
Looking at the types of fruit, a similar number felt they were bearing fruit through their everyday work, whilst significantly more people reported speaking about their faith in Jesus to those around them. However, fewer people felt they had spoken up for truth and justice and shown grace and love to those around them.
These insights will help us to better equip you for fruitfulness in the year ahead.

By sharing stories, our eyes are opened to the ways ordinary people are joining in God’s work in their everyday lives. It’s been a privilege to hear and capture 60+ stories for our Instagram feed this year. We’ve filmed athletes, nutritionists, colour consultants, actors, animators, marketing professionals, energy traders, ballerinas, lobbyists, delivery drivers, and authors, to name just a few examples.

Instagram accounts have been reached by these stories in the past year. We pray that, through these stories, followers of Jesus are inspired and equipped to join in God's kingdom work, right where they are.

We were excited to agree three new video series with RightNow Media, exploring the key themes of workplace witness, navigating authority, and a biblical vision of work and rest. The first series, Workplace Witness, featuring Ennette Lainchbury (pictured), launched in July. The remaining two series will follow later this year.
The Thank God It’s Monday Podcast, which explores faith and work, completed a second season. Subjects explored included evangelism at work, boundaries and burnout, engaging with authority, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and workplace conflict.
In response to a growing need for fresh approaches to evangelism, we piloted a new course designed to empower Christians to share their faith on their frontlines with attentiveness, curiosity, and confidence. This course is anchored in Jesus’ encounter with the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24) and offers a framework for engaging with others in a relational and thoughtful way.
‘The sessions were informative, helpful, and confidencebuilding.’

‘The refreshed Executive Toolbox, run at Waverley Abbey, has envisioned and equipped a cohort of women and men in senior executive roles to lead with greater kingdom purpose and impact. By providing a biblical perspective on their work, ambition, responsibility, and relationships, it’s not only transforming their lives but also positively influencing their organisations and those around them.’
David Walker Work Champion
Take the Lead (formerly Emerging Leaders) is designed to support young adults in developing a whole-life discipleship approach to leadership.
In addition, in partnership with Leadership College London (LCL), we welcomed over 80 delegates to LICC for the Distinctive Leadership Course, a dynamic three-day training experience designed to invest in the development and impact of leaders around the world.
‘Take the Lead has been transformative in how I see my role and my value in the workplace. It was life-giving, very thoughtful, theologically based, and highly practical.’
David Morgan never planned to work in the rail sector. But he has a strong sense that God has called him to London Paddington and to his role as a duty station manager for Great Western Railway. It’s a high-pressure environment with 600 trains departing daily. David’s role is to ensure that the service runs smoothly and, when disruptions happen, to help people on their way. No two days look the same, but he sees God in every one.
‘The reason I joined the railway was the focus on people. Nearly every part of life is on the railway: each day I talk with people travelling to funerals, big celebrations, and job interviews, to name just a few examples. I love sharing in the joy of friends and family members as they run down the platform to greet someone under the clock they haven’t seen for a while. But I also lament the grief and brokenness I see at the station, such as when victims of domestic abuse arrive seeking a place of refuge.’
It’s no surprise that mental health issues, in both passengers and staff, are some of the biggest challenges of his role. Because ultimately, the stresses of delays and other issues affect everyone.
‘I often pray at work. As I lift each conversation and task to God in prayer, God helps me to address problems with love, generosity, and openness. Recently, there were major disruptions at the station, and a gentleman was complaining about how things had gone wrong. As he explained the situation to me, my faith somehow came into the conversation – and amazingly, he was interested to hear more.
‘I pray that I’d draw God more and more into my hectic work environment, that I’d be aware of his presence, support, and guidance – not just for my benefit, but for everyone I encounter.’
‘LICC’s resources, training, and partnership have been invaluable in helping us equip our local church as well as many churches across the Fresh Streams Network for everyday discipleship. They bring a timely reminder that following Jesus is about whole-life formation, not just Sunday faith. Over the past year, their work has brought fresh energy and vision to how we disciple people in every part of life.’

We’ve continued being intentional in building strategic partnerships with larger churches and continue to work with colleges and networks to train the next generation of church leaders – everything from chairing college boards, attending vocation events, giving lectures, and supporting curriculum reviews for accreditation. Thirty theological educators and denominational trainers completed our 50-hour professional development course, ‘Formation for Enabling Ministry’, delivered in partnership with Revd Dr David Heywood.

In the past year, we’ve had stands and run seminars at big Christian festivals like the Keswick Convention, HTB Focus, Wildfires, UCCF Forum, and Cedarwood – and engaged over 5,700 Christians at these events with the whole-life discipleship cause.
Together with Integrity Music and leading worship artists including Elle Limebear, Philippa Hanna, and Noel Robinson, six songs from our Boundless songwriting camp were recorded live and then released as a series of singles and an EP. Excitingly, ‘This is the Day’ was then used by Thy Kingdom Come for their annual Pentecost festival, and has already been streamed over 180,000 times.

We pray these songs will help embed whole-life theology into the sung worship of the UK church, shaping how the next generation expresses their faith through music.

Inspired by a striking report from Barna and World Vision, which revealed that 73% of young adults raised in Christian homes leave the church by age 35, we set out to explore a different story: the experience of those who stay.
Our research, launched in 2024, uncovered five pressing questions (right) that young adults are wrestling with.
This study has shaped both our resource development and the guidance we offer church leaders who serve young adults –helping them better equip 18–35s to live out the Christian story in every part of life.

‘LICC is at the forefront of helping today’s Christians engage with culture and understand how the gospel speaks into our culture, and how to be faithful Christian disciples in and for the world God loves. They’re imaginative, creative, and invite engagement in so many different ways, that Christians in all walks of life will find ways to be encouraged, nurtured, and challenged in equal measure.’

Our Wisdom Labs continued to provide biblically rooted insights into contemporary issues, combining article series, discussion guides, live events, and small group resources. This year’s highlights included:
All too often, the church can treat responding to the climate and ecological crisis as optional rather than a foundational outworking of the gospel. We were delighted to publish Paul Kunert’s essay unpacking the fundamental truth that Jesus died and was raised to reconcile and renew all things – people, animals, plants, and the earth itself. This resource equips readers to live now as they will when creation has been perfected again, conserving and caring for the natural world and bringing peace, love, and justice to local and global neighbours.

A self-confessed bibliophile, Olivia Haysman-Walker knew she wanted to work with books but not write them. She realised her options were either publishing or bookselling, and she was drawn to the latter. Whilst at university, she began volunteering at a charity bookshop, eventually rising to deputy manager and then manager. As the age-old adage goes, the rest is history.
Today, Olivia manages a team of 25–30 volunteers at a second-hand bookshop in London. She delights in God’s daily provision and seeks to lead in a Jesus-like way. In her words, ‘the volunteers are both the best and most challenging part of my job. It’s not just about delegating tasks, it’s about ensuring they feel valued, supported, and enriched. I love training people, whether they’re volunteers in my shop or staff preparing to work in other bookshops.
‘The only guarantee in my shop is me showing up. Everything else – our stock, volunteers and customers – depends on the generosity and enthusiasm of others. We raise tens of thousands of pounds to help create a fairer world. Every now and then, while I’m counting the money at the end of the day, I pray over it, because it’s such a blessing.’
In line with the Quiet Revival research commissioned by Bible Society and conducted by YouGov, Olivia notes it’s striking how often people come into the bookshop asking for Bibles. She’s also encouraged by the openness of her colleagues to her faith.
‘The volunteers know I’m a Christian, and some are Christians themselves. Working weekends means I rush off to church on Sunday evening, which can naturally lead to conversations. I try to build strong relationships with volunteers and customers, taking a personal interest in them.’
Olivia loves books but believes that what makes her job special is the human connection they create.
‘I see two layers of creativity: the books –exploring subjects I’ve never heard of – and the personal histories within them, from notes in the margins to love letters, photographs, even hate letters. In a busy city like London, my work reminds me that everyone is created in God’s image and has a unique story.’

‘LICC excels at connecting the richness of Scripture with the realities of everyday life. They don’t just teach the Bible—they show us how to live it. Their work is building a generation of confident, whole-life Bible readers who understand the relevance of God’s word in every sphere.’

Our Advent devotional journey focused on the incarnate Saviour – the Jesus who stepped into the mess of ordinary life and calls us to live faithfully, grounded in our everyday contexts. The resource included a devotional via email or YouVersion, sermon plans for each Sunday of Advent and Christmas Day, five short films, and a digital graphics pack.
The impact was encouraging, with 8,000 people joining the devotional journey, and an estimated 200–300 churches using the full teaching series.
John Stott (pictured right) talked about the need to listen to the Bible and to the world, and relate one to the other. ‘We listen to the Word with humble reverence,’ he wrote, ‘anxious to understand it, and resolved to believe and obey what we come to understand. We listen to the world with critical alertness, anxious to understand it too, and resolved not necessarily to believe and obey it, but to sympathise with it and to seek grace to discover how the gospel relates to it.' In the last year, our Word for the Week, Connecting with Culture, and Gateway Seven have empowered growing numbers of people to engage with the Bible through whole-life eyes and relate the word to the realities of their everyday world.
This year’s Word for the Week included a series on Jeremiah, the temptation of Jesus in Luke’s Gospel, and the importance of sabbath. Connecting with Culture topics have ranged widely, from the assisted dying bill to the new Bridget Jones film, from Ring doorbells to the Eras Tour, and the Southport riots –helping readers connect the Christian faith with the world around them in real time.
Feedback from churches and individuals was exceptionally positive, affirming the value of providing early, high-quality resources rooted in everyday faith.

From 22–28 September 2024, over 5,300 Christian leaders from across churches, parachurch organisations, and workplaces gathered in Seoul-Incheon for the Fourth Lausanne Movement Congress, with an additional 2,000 delegates participating online.
LICC played a key role in shaping the congress. Dr Dave Benson, LICC's Director of Culture and Discipleship, was seconded to the programme team, contributing significantly to the development of the event’s theme: ‘Let the Church Declare and Display Christ Together’.
LICC’s influence was particularly evident in the afternoon Collaborate sessions, which used a reflective practice framework drawn from our work to address 25 'Great Commission Gaps'.
We talked about whole-life discipleship over 70 times on the airwaves this year. You might have heard us on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Thought for the Day’, UCB 1, UCB 2, Premier Christian Radio, Premier Praise, or TWR.
Over the past year, LICC’s specialists have delivered biblical content across the UK and beyond – delivering seminars, lectures, presentations, sermons, and articles designed to help people see the whole-life implications of the Bible.
They’ve helped individuals and communities connect the dots between Scripture and the realities of their everyday lives. From leadership challenges to family dynamics, the world of work to cultural engagement, our team has equipped people to engage with the Bible in ways that speak directly into their context, revealing how the gospel shapes every part of life.
Over the past year we have continued to work with partners in the UK and internationally to ensure our resources are widely accessible.
In partnership with Torch Trust, LICC is working to make a significantly wider selection of resources available to those who are blind or partially sighted.

At LICC, we seek to embody these values in everything we are and do as we play our small part in God’s big mission.
We prayerfully listen to Scripture, the world, and one another’s stories to discern the time and place we’re in and what makes for fruitfulness right now.
We’re real and true to our purpose, living out and landing all we do and say in everyday contexts that are relevant to each disciple’s frontlines.
We seek fresh and prophetic ways of communicating the call to whole-life discipleship that cut through the noise of this cultural moment.
We cheerfully give and receive time, talents, resources, and encouragement out of love for one another, collaborating for kingdom wins bigger than ourselves.
We seek quality in all we do and Christlikeness in all we are, emerging from a desire to glorify God and serve his people in a team effort. Love is our most excellent way.
Your support is bringing life to thousands.
We are so grateful to our generous supporters.
Because of your partnership, people have been inspired and equipped to live as authentic, culturally astute, resilient followers of Jesus in all of life.
