A U.S. Department of State grant program, this scholarship enables students with limited financial means to study or intern abroad. The goal of this grant is to provide students with an opportunity to gain critical skills and explore elements of national security while immersed in the culture of another country.

BOREN AWARDS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDY
This grant provides funding for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students studying in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
The Boren Award requires a commitment to rigorous language study and a pledge to work for the federal government for at least one year after graduation. Funding is based on a student’s academic standing.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State, this summer language and cultural immersion scholarship program trains professionals to be fluent in specific languages essential to U.S. security. DAAD SCHOLARSHIP
Founded in 1925, the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) German Academic Exchange Service awards grants and scholarships for study abroad programs. DAAD also promotes German studies and advises policymakers on matters relating to culture and education. DONALD M. PAYNE
The Donald M. Payne International Development Fellowship Program is for outstanding individuals interested in pursuing careers in foreign service with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This program offers up to an estimated $104,000 for two years toward a graduate fellowship.

The FAS International Agricultural Fellowship Program awards at least two fellows with up to $106,000 over 2 years for a two-year graduate program at a U.S. university and for two summer internships. For academic support, the fellowship pays up to $24,000 per year for two years towards tuition, mandatory fees, and health insurance. It also provides a $18,000 annual academic stipend to cover living expenses for each of the two years.
