DO: Conserve electricity in your home:
Don’t leave the lights on when they are not needed.
Unplug appliances in between use.
Buy energy efficient electrical equipment.
Rapid glacial melt; release of Green House Gases
Large-scale deforestation; consequent soil erosion & flooding
Unchecked mining (gold, chromium, copper, etc.)
Improper disposal of nuclear waste; cancer-causing contaminations of water and soil
Damming of headwaters of the Yangtze, Mekong, Salween, and Brahmaputra rivers
Grassland desertification, contraction of wetlands and drying of lakes
Loss of biodiversity
Insufficient environmental regulation and impact assessment
