OAKWOOD’S WILDSIDE

5

Wales’ largest theme park Oakwood tasked three design agencies with the job of revamping their marketing material. The brief was to promote the theme park’s venue and bring to life the rides.

J3237

limegreentangerine won this competitive pitch with the creation of the ‘Take a Ride on the Wildside’ campaign featuring a group of likeable furry characters called the Woodland Bunch. Sly, Newty and Nuts were placed in colourful leafy surroundings to give the park a magical, countryside feel. The cartoon characters have been applied across all of Oakwood’s printed marketing material including advertising, park maps, point of sale, ticketing, sales leaflets and they allow for future merchandising opportunities.

GETTING SWANSEA ACTIVE

6

The City and County of Swansea choose to rebrand all eleven of their leisure centres to compete with the recently launched LC leisure complex. To encourage Swansea residents, particularly families on a budget, to get active the branding and marketing material had to invigorate and stimulate people’s minds. The new look gave a modern and vibrant feel to the leisure centres and featured on signage, posters, information booklets and membership cards.

GREAT EXPOSURE

7

Fast track recruitment agency, Executives Online, published a survey entitled ‘Business Exposure’ in which they examined how common it was for companies to lose senior managers – looking at the roles, which are most vulnerable, and those which are toughest to fill. The organisation tasked us with presenting these findings in a research report which was then used to target HR managers and line managers responsible for recruitment. The report was designed with these audiences in mind using a clean, cool and crisp layout combined with aspirational corporate imagery.

HEALTH OF THE HIGH STREET

8

The British Shops and Stores Association (bssa) represents the needs and interests of over 4,000 small and medium-sized independent retailers. The bssa’s branding was rejuvenated by creating a modern house style that is now used across all marketing material. The ‘Health of the High Street’ report was the first publication to showcase the new look. This report highlights the issues that need to be addressed if the high street is going to survive.

HITTING THE RIGHT NOTE

9

Capturing the concept of sound and movement is always a challenge in print. This was the case when we were asked to design ‘Hitting the right note’ for Jo Jingles – a pioneer of fun, educational music and movement experiences for children under five. The report is based on the findings of an independent study into the singing and musical habits of 1,000 families across the UK. The solution came in the form of an energetic visual story where happy children participating in musical activity are surrounded by bold and colourful swirls which sweep across the pages.

PR GETS COOL

11

When entering a competitive marketplace where many of the PR agencies in Wales have been established for a number of years, it was essential that as a new agency freshbaked™ PR stood apart from its nearest competitors in terms of its look, feel and offering.

J3786

limegreentangerine worked closely with the freshbaked™ team on developing the brand for the new division. ‘Make a Statement’ was conceived using bold graphics and typography to illustrate the organisations fresh and funky approach to PR. The project covered the full spectrum of marketing material including brand identity, advertising, website and a unique direct marketing concept in the form of a 1975 classic Bedford ice cream van affectionately known as Betsy. limegreentangerine were tasked with the challenge of turning this blank canvas, a well worn, disused ice cream van, into a cutting edge, visually appealing brand marketing tool. The end result makes passersby stop in the street and warms even the coolest of business prospects.

PROMOTING POLYSTYRENE

12

GM Polystyrene is one of the premier specialist polystyrene converters in the UK. As a new company limegreentangerine were tasked with developing GM Polystyrene’s identity, website and marketing material. The website showcases an extensive range of off-the-shelf polystyrene products and provides an insight into the processes which enable GMP to produce specialised pieces to exact customer requirements.

CORGI HIGHLIGHT SAFETY

13

Gas safety watchdog, CORGI published a Carbon Monoxide Report to encourage a wider debate among the public, consumer groups, and the trade about how best to minimise the threat of the silent killer that is carbon monoxide.

J3129

The report used research from CORGI to uncover regional hot spots and vulnerable groups. The report was designed to be informative yet interesting, appeal to CORGI’s target audiences and follow CORGI’s corporate guidelines. Creating maps to showcase incidents and tables to configure statistics, we ensured that the research was presented in a way that was easy to digest.

TECHNOLOGY AT A NEW LEVEL

15

Over the last few years limegreentangerine has worked with CCTV wholesaler DVS in developing their external and internal branding across exhibition, livery, staff uniforms, print and online.

J2717

The DVS brand now exudes the confidence the company has in it’s product offering. Their professional service and cost effective, quality product range combined with a strong brand identity has made them the regional leaders in the supply of mid range cctv products. DVS have reaped the positive results of having a strong brand identity gaining a competitive advantage in a saturated market. In the last two years the organisation has seen their turnover increase two-fold and have been recognised in Wales’ ‘Fast Growth 50’ awards in 2006, 2007 & 2008. This year DVS also picked up a ‘sustainable growth’ award for appearing in the listing for three consecutive years.

IN SAFE HANDS

16

MAPA is among the world’s largest manufacturers of protective gloves providing safeguarding against chemicals and liquids, temperature, and hand contamination.

J3197

We designed the ‘In Safe Hands’ report which evaluates the priorities given to personal protective gloves across a variety of high risk sectors, company sizes and geographical regions and establishes how working practices, culture and increasing performance pressures impact on glove wearing. Elements of the photography were retouched to black and white to accentuate the different types of coloured protective gloves.

WE HAVE LIFT OFF

17

IT expert Robert Dance recently commissioned limegreentangerine to brand his new IT business.

J3800

After undertaking a name generation workshop RockIT was chosen as it best represented the two core brand values - fast and friendly. The brief was keen to emphasise that the company is as much about people as it is IT. A strict colour palette of black and orange was used wisely to ensure the brand appeared approachable, less technical and, above all, instantly recognisable. The project deliverables included a content managed website, email marketing, van livery, and various print collateral. RockIT launched in July 2008.

DEPRESSION ALLIANCES’ JOURNEY

19

Depression Alliance Cymru commissioned limegreentangerine to help rebrand their organisation. After becoming an independent organisation the charity wanted an image that represented their new approach to combatting depression.

J3115

Depression is a condition that can prevent those affected from getting on with their life. The route to recovery from depression is a ‘Journey’ and this word seemed the perfect name for the new organisation. A style and tone of voice were defined and simple typography was combined with quirky illustrations to add light humour to a somewhat delicate and often misdiagnosed subject without being condescending. The Journeys look is unconventionally fresh and has made a huge impact in the community and to the organisation both externally and internally.

FROM THE ARCHIVE: FRESH FOOD & COFFEE ON THE GO How does an independent coffee shop compete with the likes of Starbucks and Caffé Nero? This was the task set by Daniel Evans, Managing Director of ‘Flavour’, an independent coffee shop in the heart of Cardiff. The ideal recipe for success was to offer freshly prepared food and quality coffee. Add a prime city centre location, a strong brand identity and let it simmer. Fresh food and coffee on the go is the essence of ‘Flavour’. limegreentangerine developed Flavour’s identity, shop front, literature, signage and interior.
