News, events and support opportunities for trans people, including non-binary people across Scotland. Transgender Day of Remembrance is 20th November 2018 Welcome to November’s edition of T Monthly, a useful round up of events, news and opportunities for trans people across Scotland. We’ve had an vibrant start to the autumn season, bringing together a joyful array of trans, including non-binary groups, activists, artists and community leaders, at the LGBTQmunity celebration event on October 13th. Over 300 people popped by to meet group leaders join in the activities and find out what’s happening for the community in Scotland. Our thanks to Edinburgh Trans Women, Trans Masculine Scotland, Non-Binary Edinburgh and the Scottish Trans Alliance for hosting lovely stalls, spending time meeting people and raising awareness. We’d also like to send HUGE congratulations to the inspiring Edinburgh Frontrunners, who just this week won ‘Group of the Year’ at the Jogscotland Scottish Athletics 2018 awards! "The group is a world pioneer when it comes to non-binary inclusion in running - its Pride Run 2017 was the first race in Scotland to officially recognise non-binary entrants and the group has advised on the wider move to allow event organisers to recognise non-binary athletes in Scotland" say Jogscotland. From us all at LGBT Health, we couldn’t agree more and wish the Edinburgh Frontrunners another trailblazing year ahead! Looking to meet new friends and find support? Visit our Community Groups section of T Monthly to find out who’s meeting and when and how to attend or get involved in a community group. This month we’re also hosting a peer-led Practical Skills Confidence Workshop in Edinburgh, and inclusive Barber afternoon in Glasgow. There will also be a Trans Day of Remembrance gathering at T time in Edinburgh on the 17th, and all are welcome. We hope you enjoy reading about all our event for the rest of the month and early December. Back next month! Jules If you’d like to promote your own activities, group or events for trans people, including non-binary people through T Monthly, you can contact me via jules@lgbthealth.org.uk or by calling 0131 523 1104, I’ll be happy to help - The submission deadline for the December edition is 23rd November.
