Picture 10 years into the future how successful is the project? What does this look like? What will make this happen?
It would give very welcoming and fruitful feature of the community
In 10 years – the project is very successful! (I’m an optimist) because: it was well thought through. There was consistent prayer. Many people were engaged in the process. The right people with the right giftings were allowed to take their roles. It meets a (or several) real needs across the community. There is freedom to share about Jesus.
I think we need to put aside our own local church mentality, so that we can build the body of Christ (church) and the kingdom of God. I do really appreciate that LFEC bought the building and shares this opportunity with us. I look forward to see more young people get involved.
A nice community church with possible a local café and if you keep the garages rent or sell to people living in Old Castle Road where we have no garages, make sure the seagulls who nest every year “are not disturbed”
To help the project happen it needs the support of the community and prayer. The project will be a new building with a great opportunity for outreach.
Hopefully a fully functioning full church that has been designed with serving God first and foremost. Working together as a church and talking about everyone’s views.
A project that is well integrated with community needs whilst maintaining Christian ethics and the vision of LFEC i.e. some projects have gone too far along ‘community’ lines and have activities that are not healthy! They can do this because they are tempted by income/ popularity/ football etc.!
I would hope that these in the community who make use of the site would find God through the stability and work ethics of the project management team.
Imagine you are 90 years old and reflecting on the project which is thriving. What do you think made this project work so well? What has it achieved for the community? What issues might have it have faced along the way?
Constantly trying to improve the building with God at the centre. Hopefully it will be a place for all people to visit and worship. People will always oppose Christianity but a church will always look to god for help
More activities for the community which play a part in sharing the gospel bringing those to faith. The project brings new groups together and the church has increased in size
What would be great is if the community melds with LFEC visions and utilises the site in true harmony
Issues faced may be:
- Opposition from pseudoreligious or even antireligious factions in the community
-Lack of funds/ interest/rising costs etc.
-An imbalance in Christian/ community ethics/ practices
It has created an inclusive area for people who wouldn’t usually hear about God’s word to hear about it and grow the church
It has created an inclusive area
Good leadership, community involvement, sympathetic way to enhance the building, rental of garages to neighbours, part of a thriving area that needs a focal point to meet.

- LLANELLI STAR COMMENTS -
It would be a good place for the homeless during the cold weather

Why didn’t they turn it into rooms for the homeless
Nice to see the building being used
We have some lovely architectural period churches that could be bought and restored
Great to see the church having the vision to expand
Could be used as extra homing for the town
I thought they couldn’t use that building anymore because it’s full of asbestos
Look after the homeless and needy
They could pretty it up with cladding maybe, a lick of paint, a mural
Good news for Llanelli
Bring back the police
Thought it was full of asbestos
Plenty of old disused churches / chapels around
Bottom floor should take priority for mental health
Easily accessible if they start anything for the community
Such a horrid depressing building
Not enough parking
Was someone saying the old police station was going to be used as the new drug rehab centre?
We have some lovely architectural period churches that could be bought and restored

Put OUR homeless people in rooms
I would demolish and redevelop
Lush news.
Great to see it being used for something good
They could pretty it up with cladding maybe, a lick of paint, a mural
Can’t it be used to help the homeless
At least the church is thankfully using
Wouldn’t it have been better for them to buy 1 of many churches for sale in Llanelli and use this for something else
I really like the idea
A place for homeless to stay or a place where you can easily get mental health help
Help the homeless
Turn it into an outreach building for people to go if they need it
May be cheaper to pull it down and build a modern purpose built building
All that’s happened is vandalism on the front wall
The building isn’t going to waste at all
