Whichever course our students are doing, a endance and punctuality are key to achieving highly. There is a direct correla on between academic success and high levels of a endance and punctuality. We would ask parents and carers to reinforce this at home and encourage students to a end all of their metabled sessions (including GCSE resit classes and tutorial). We will providing you with a Progress Report with details on how your son/daughter is doing on their course shortly before the Christmas break. Parents/carers of Year One students (and Year Two students where there are speci c concerns) will also be invited to a end an online Parents and Carers Consulta on Evening on 13/12.

Oxbridge and Russell Group Workshops As of the second week of January in 2024, we will be running weekly lunch me workshops to support rst-year students with applica ons to compe ve universi es. The rst of these is the Oxbridge workshop, for students considering an applica on to either Oxford or Cambridge. This workshop is appropriate for students with a majority of 7s, 8s, and 9s at GCSE, and who are largely on an A-Level study programme (as Oxford and Cambridge only consider Voca onal quali ca ons alongside A-Levels). The second support session is the Russell Group Workshop. This workshop is appropriate for any student who wishes to make a strong applica on to a compe ve or “top” university (it does not need to be a member of the Russell Group). This means that the workshop will be helpful to both Voca onal and A-Level students, regardless of their GCSE grade pro le. We would like to support as many students as possible with these applica ons, so please encourage your son or daughter to sign up by joining the relevant Microso Teams pages below if they wish to a end.

The metable for the forthcoming voca onal and GCSE mock exams can be found below. These examina ons are a crucial element of our prepara on for the upcoming external exams and will provide a strong indica on of the grades that students can expect to achieve. As with external exams, if students miss these assessments, we won’t be able to facilitate another opportunity for them to take them.
