Chris E. Baker, 67, of Lewistown, passed away on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at home, with his family by his side.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1958, in Lewistown to the late Harold “Big” Baker and Patricia A. (Gilbert) Baker. On June 22, 1984, he married Christine A. (Kauffman) Baker, who survives at their home.
Jean D. Bilger, 88, of Miffin, passed away Aug. 21, 2025, at Locust Grove Retirement Village.
Born June 13, 1937 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. Knepp and Stella Catherine (Adams) Knepp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. ‘Pete’ Bilger; son, Dennis A. Bilger; brothers, Donald E. Knepp
Along with his wife, he is survived by children, Jessica A. Nail and husband, Jeff, of Reedsville, Emily C. McConnell and husband, Sean, of Miffintown; seven grandchildren: J.J. and Jett Nail, Lucy, Brynn, Miles, Max, and Trey McConnell; siblings: David G. Baker, of Lewistown, Betsy A. Sullivan and husband, Brad, of Chandler, AZ, and Laurie J. Baker, of San Diego, CA. Chris graduated in 1976 from Kishacoquillas High School. He worked in internal transportation at the Standard Steel until his retirement in Jan. 2025 with 43 years of service.
For many years, he served alongside his father at Milroy CMA Church as an elder and Sunday school teacher. Chris accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of fve. His faith and dedication to his Lord never wavered. He was a man of integrity and loved his family deeply. He began every day by reading his Bible and praying over his loved ones. He is currently a member of Calvary Bible Church in

She is survived by children, David W. Bilger and wife, Tuolummie ‘Tally’, of Lewistown, Douglas E. Bilger and wife, Kathy, of Miffin, and Darcy L. Romig, of McClure, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean graduated from Rothrock High School and was Methodist by faith. Devoted to her family,
Lewistown.
He enjoyed hunting, fshing, and was an avid sports fan. He loved the New York Jets, Phillies and Penn State. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for his wit and sarcastic sense of humor with his children and grandchildren.
A viewing was to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, with the funeral service following at 6 p.m. at the Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown, with Pastor Ethan Druckenmiller offciating. Burial was to be private at the convenience of the family at the Salem Cemetery in Milroy.

Connie Ann Berrier, 77, of Burnham, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 22, 1948, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. Bedelyon and Itha M. (Lingle) Bedelyon-Nixon.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Berrier; children, Lee M. Smith and wife, Denise, of Lewistown, and Amy Berrier-Feltman, of McAlistersville; grandchildren, Brandon and Leanna Smith, Paris Rose, Cypress Eve, and Atlantis Isle Feltman; and her brother, Richard Bedelyon.
She was a member of Milroy American Legion.
Connie was a 1966 graduate of Lewistown High School.
She worked in the Mifflin County School District as part of the cafeteria staff.
Connie enjoyed traveling, going to the beach,
the thrill of an ocean cruise to Aruba was her favorite trip. She enjoyed the roar of engines at Nascar races, and the quiet contentment of tending to her fowers and watching the birds at her feeder.
She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Her beloved dogs, Poppy and Cinnamon were also cherished companions.
Per her request, no services to be held.

Erma Jane Bubb (Bonson), 90, of Colyer, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025.
Born on Dec. 31, 1934, in Reedsville, she was the daughter of the late John Reed and Dorothy Evelyn (Henry) Bonson. On Feb. 7, 1958, she married John I. Bubb, who preceded her in death in October of 2015.
Erma graduated from
Jane (Janie) Bair, on June 15, 2014. He is survived by: daughter, Melissa Bair and husband, James Krinjeck, of Belleville, son, Robert S. Bair and wife, Kelly, of Port Royal, grandson, Trace Gulick and wife, Jordan, of Lewistown, granddaughter, Kiersten Layton, and husband, Tahir, of Miffintown, great-grandson, Rowan Layton, brother Mark Bair and wife, Carol, of York, sister-n-law, Ruth “Teenie” Eaton, of New Bloomfeld, his beloved companion Deb Heisey of Miffin and her family, and his “daughter from up the hill,” Deb Dressler.

Armagh Brown High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Penn State University until she retired in 1998, after more than 38 years of service.
Erma was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Centre Hall, where she attended regularly and continued to assist and contribute in any way she was able, especially meals. She was a big fan of PSU sports, especially women’s basketball. She enjoyed tending to her fower gardens and loved the Great Grange Fair. The fair was her happy place, and she looked forward to scootering around it every year, even this year. Her last few days on this earth were spent at the fair, enjoying time and making memories with her family and friends. She liked to cook, and you never went hungry when she was around. Feeding mouths was feeding souls to her. She was
Sr High School and the IBEW apprenticeship, JR spent 56 years as a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local 143 of Harrisburg. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Miffintown, the Moose, Millerstown, and the NRA.
JR took pride in working with his son, Robert, for many years and helping his daughter and late wife with their horses, dogs, and other critters.
In his later years, he was known for having an inordinate number of slightly inappropriate T-shirts, which he wore proudly. He was very generous and loved spending time with his family, reading, eat-
a stubborn, strong willed, storytelling, amazing, loving, faithful woman whose smile was infectious. She will forever be loved, cherished, and missed by so many.
Erma is survived by her son, John I. Bubb, Jr. and his wife, Janell, of Spring Mills; three grandchildren, Mavis Fay Bubb and her husband, Shivesh Patel, of Pittsburgh, Dalton John Bubb and his signifcant other, Alexa McGovern, of Philipsburg, and Nicole Mendez and her husband, Ryne of Kansas City; seven great-grandchildren, Granger and Gatlin Bubb, Clayton and Piper Shawley, and Rylee, Kalee, and Kole Mendez; one brother, Clarence Bonson and his wife, Martha, of Reedsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard C. Bennett, 65, of Yeagertown, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at his home.
Born Aug. 21, 1959, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Richard E. Bennett and Margaret ‘Peggy’ (Swann) Bennett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Karen Bennett and Patricia Bennett as well as his sister-inlaw, Tammy Bennett.
He is survived by his companion, Danielle Daise, of Yeagertown; son, Richard E. Bennett and wife, April; grandchildren, Leon, River and Kolton; siblings, Rocky Bennett, of Huntingdon, Peggy Bennett, of Huntingdon, and Natalie Ranck, of Lewistown; many loving cousins, nieces and nephews in addition to his good friend, Steve Allen.
He was a 1977 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He also obtained his bachelor’s degree.
Richard was enlisted in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, Heavy Machinery repairman.
Richard worked as a facilities manager where his skills in electrical work and carpentry were widely respected and sought after. He found joy in cooking, fshing, and the thrill of skydiving.
There will be no services per Richards’ wishes.

Brenda Darlene Bumgardner, 73, of Burnham, a devoted wife and loving mother, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born June 7, 1952 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Lee Victor Moore and LaVonne (Baer) Hockenberry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Debbie Young.
She is survived by her husband of 49 yrs, Donald Lee Bumgardner, children Terry L. Bumgardner, of Lewistown, Angela D. Schuman and husband, Rex, of Ga., Wesley D. Bumgardner, of Shrewsbury; grandchildren, Zachery S. Duff and wife, Jordan, Tru Bumgardner; great grandson, Calvin T Duff; siblings, Dennis Moore and companion,
Cindy Killian, of Allentown, Daniel Moore, of Lewistown, David Moore and companion, Rachel Fergison, of Lewistown and Dorothy Patrick and husband, Frank, of Philadelphia; niece Machelle Young, of Lewistown.
While Donald served overseas in the US Army, Brenda faithfully cared for their children on her own.
Her strength, resilience, and unconditional love carried the family through those years, leaving a legacy of devotion that her children will never forget.
She was a graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School.
Brenda was guided throughout her life by her Methodist faith.
She retired after a dedicated career with Weis Markets as a Bakery Manager.
Brenda is now reunited with loved ones who passed before her and will be deeply missed by all who remain.

Anna Lois Brubaker, 77, of Miffintown, formerly of McAlisterville, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Miffintown.


Born on Sept. 4, 1947, in Myerstown, Lebanon County, she is a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther (Horst) Diem.
On July 20, 1968, she married her late husband, A. Lloyd Brubaker, with whom she was blessed to share over 53 years of marriage before his passing on March 24, 2022.
She is survived by her children, Kelvin Brubaker and wife, Becky of Milroy, Cheryl Brubaker and wife, Megan of Telford, and Jay Brubaker and his wife, Lindsay of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Jordan and his wife, Jenn, Seth and his wife, Brianna, Marnie and her husband, Jimmy, Andy, Joey, Hayden, and Cian; four great grandchildren; siblings: Merle Diem of Bamberg, S.C., John Diem of Myerstown, Mary Ellen Fox of Myerstown, and
Elizabeth Weaver of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Kauffman, and one brother, Ivan C. Diem.
Mrs. Brubaker was a 1965 graduate of Eastern Lebanon High School.
In earlier life along with her husband, she helped on the family dairy farm. She was also employed for many years at E-Ze Mart, which later became Dean’s Store in Oakland Mills where she retired from.
She was a member of Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Oakland Mills and had been recently attending Bunkertown Brethren Church, McAlisterville.
Funeral Services were to be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Bunkertown Brethren
Church, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, with Pastor Wes Stahl and Pastor Steve Osenga offciating. Interment was to be private at Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills.
A viewing was to be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Church.

Glenn Eugene Compton, 82, of Miffintown, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, after an enjoyable life of experiences and rebalances.
Glenn was born on his parents’ farm, Friendly Acres, in Clarksburg, Pa.
On May 29, 1965, he married the former Jean Wehmeyer, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters: Jennifer
Lynn Black and husband, Curtis, of York Haven; and Kathleen Ann Swailes and husband, Kevin, of Miffintown, four grandchildren, Samantha Black Lillis and husband, Sean, Sydney Black, Nathan Swailes, and Caden Swailes, and two great-grandchildren on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Maben and Mary Louise (Johnston) Compton and two brothers, Jack R. Compton and Carl Duane Compton.
He graduated from Saltsburg High School, Saltsburg, Pa. in 1961. He then enrolled in Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, Pa and graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture and began working for the USDA Farmers Home Administration in Freehold New Jersey.
Upon receiving his draft notice, Glenn enlisted in the U.S. Army, obtaining a Top Secret rating for training in the Signal Corps.
Upon graduating from the Signal School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, Glenn was stationed in Taiwan and Seoul, South Korea. While in Seoul, he was sent to Panmunjom, South Korea to maintain the Crypto Equipment as negotiations were ongoing with the North Koreans
after their capture of the U.S. Pueblo.
Upon returning to civilian duty, Glenn returned to the Farmers Home Administration, working in the Wellsboro Offce. Within a year came a transfer to the Miffintown County Offce. Glenn provided Credit services in Rural Housing and Farm Operations until his retirement in 1994.
After his retirement, Glenn worked as a Real Estate Agent for the Marlin H. Fields and Jack Gaughen Real Estate Agencies.
Glenn was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Miffintown.
He enjoyed fshing for Bass, trips to Canada, landscaping, woodworking, gardening, and especially spending time with grandchildren.
The time of the memorial service will be announced when the planning is complete. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Roy C. Deamer Sr., 83, of Yeagertown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at
Geisinger – Lewistown Hospital.
Born Jan. 6, 1942, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Paul L. Deamer and Beatrice S. (Foulk) Deamer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Roy C. Deamer III.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara L. (Wilt) Deamer; children, Tammy M. Shoup and husband, Michael, of York, Roy C. Deamer Jr. and wife, Brenda, of South Carolina, Deborah R. Deamer, of Lewistown, Lois A. Scott, of Lewistown, and Miriam L. McMurry, of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Cherished by his siblings and family, he will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

niata Joint High School in 1960 and was an active member of Gospel Chapel in Lewistown.
He was a truck driver for Zimmerman’s for 16 years.
One of Roy’s greatest joys was bringing laughter to others and sharing treasured moments with his family, to whom he devoted his life.

David P. ‘Sonny’ Druckemiller, Sr., 88, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2025 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 15, 1937, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Wilbur Druckemiller and Viola (Snook)
Druckemiller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Cupp) Druckemiller; children, Terry Yoder and Judy Smith; and siblings, Virginia, Martin, Wilbur, Thelma, Melvin and Glen.
He is survived by his son, Daniel ‘Joe’ Druckemiller; sisters, Betty, Marjorie and Linda; as well as fve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
David graduated from Chief Logan High School Class of 1955. He went on to serve with pride in both the United States Army and the Army Reserves.
He concluded his career with retirement from Kroger Foods.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.

James Howard Fauth, 76, formerly of Lewistown, passed away at his home in Southern California on Aug. 25, following an extended illness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Beth (Kreamer); his stepson, Jason Fosselman, whom

Evelyn L. Fultz, 78, of Milroy passed away on Wednesday evening, Aug. 6, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
he was proud to help raise from childhood and fercely loved as his own; his beautiful daughter-inlaw, Terra (Manthey), and granddaughters, Piper and Parker, whom we adored. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard E. and Sara Jane (Breininger) Fauth.
Jim was a graduate of Lewistown High School and earned his BS and Master’s Degrees in Biology Education from Bloomsburg University, where he played on the tennis team and lettered all four years. He also proudly served for six years in the US Navy, where he received extensive training in electronics. It was when he was stationed in San Diego that he dreamed of retiring to SoCal.
Another major accomplishment of Jim’s was earning his ASNT Level III in ultrasonics and other forms of nondestructive testing (NDT). Most of his career was spent as an instructor, and then the manager of schools, at Krautkramer-Branson/ GE in Lewistown. During that time, he traveled around the country teaching NDT techniques for industrial applications at such pres-

Surviving is one sibling, John L. Pennepacker, Sr. and wife Barbara of Reedsville, sister-in-law, Helen Pennepacker of Lumber City and sister-in-law, Ruth Pennepacker of Barrville, as well as many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin L. ‘Penny’ Pennepacker, Jr., 1998, Frank W. Pennepacker, 2005, and Jesse J. Pennepacker, 2025 and one sister, Florence M.

Regarded as an outstanding educator in the feld, Jim ended his career with two of the premier leaders in the NDT industry – Hellier in Niantic, CT, where he was a traveling instructor; and Mistras in Princeton Junction, NJ, where, because he could no longer travel extensively after surviving an aortic dissection in 2008, he designed online courses in ultrasonics.
Jim was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lewistown, before moving to SoCal eleven years ago. He served on Church Council and in many different capacities with BSA Troop 2, which the church sponsored. Jim was devoted to instilling the Scout values in troop members, and when he was Scoutmaster, he was pleased to help facilitate several boys in the troop earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
Jim was talented in many areas and had varied interests. He was a nature lover who enjoyed hiking, hunting responsibly, camping, and photographing God’s creation. He was

Over the years, she was employed at Red’s Diner, Hartman’s Center, the Milroy Post Offce and Fisher Brother’s Inc.
She attended Barrville Mennonite Church, her faith being a constant comfort.
Evelyn enjoyed square dancing, loved watching Penn State Football, and sitting on the back porch with her husband watching the variety of birds that visited her bird houses and the squirrels, chipmunks, and ducks that would wander into the yard.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at
an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, and, before his health problems, tennis player. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family—traveling, playing sports and other games of skill, listening to music, watching flms of different genres, and rooting for his favorite sports teams, particularly the Dodgers and Phillies in baseball and Penn State in football. He was a wonderful storyteller, who had a great sense of humor, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
There will be a celebration of life for Jim at Hope Lutheran Church in Palm Desert, CA at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6. Since the family will be providing fowers for the service, they are requesting that in lieu of fowers, donations can be made in Jim’s name to Seven Mountains Scout Camp in Centre County or to the Bloomsburg University Tennis Team in Bloomsburg.

Nancy L. Goss, 83, of Milroy, passed away on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown.
She was born on July 26, 1942, in Newton Hamilton, to the late Elwood H. Buchanan, Sr. and Betty L. (Collanbine) Buchanan. On July 13, 1960, she married Wilson A. Goss, Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2020.
Surviving are children: Sonieta L. Harrop and husband, Ernest, Paula S. Goss, Charlene J. Wagner and husband, Alan, Loraine M. Goss, Denise J. Kenawell and husband, Marc, all of Milroy, Dennis J. Goss and wife, Mynthia Cabrera Goss, of Petersburg; 15 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way; siblings: Edna Violando and husband, Patrick, of Hastings, N.Y., Raymond Buchanan, of Syracuse, N.Y., Connie Yorkey and companion, Wayne Drake, of Syracuse, N.Y., Shirley Shurowicz and husband, Robert, of Syracuse, N.Y., Ken Buchanan and wife, Joanne Cramer-Buchanan, of Ga., Edward Buchanan and wife, Theresa, of Hastings, N.Y., brothers-in-law: John Mecurio, of North Syracuse, N.Y., Robert L. Goss and wife, Donna, of McVeytown, John Goss and wife, Ida, of Decatur.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Elwood Buchanan Jr. and sister Kathy Mecurio.
Nancy graduated from Lewistown High School in 1960. She was a homemaker until 1974, when she went to work at Lewistown Sportswear, Arrow Shirt Factory, The Blind Foundation, Brandywine, and retired from JDM Manufacturing.
As a youth, she attended Spring Run Church of the Brethren and was baptized there. After she was married, she and her husband attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Siglerville, where she was active in Sunday school, served as the Sunday school secre-
tary and sang in the choir.
She was a member of Siglerville Grange, a member of the Miffin County Youth Fair Open Show Committee.
She enjoyed making quilts for all her grandchildren. Nancy was a wonderful cook and loved making dozens of cookies and candy at Christmas and Easter time.
She was always very supportive of her children and grandchildren. She was known for her sassy sense of humor and will be dearly missed.
A viewing was to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main Street, Reedsville. Loretta J. Hummel, 85, formerly of McClure, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
Born Aug. 24, 1939, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph McCartle and Mary Grace (Goss) McCartle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer H. Hummel; a son, Scott Kline; step-children, Fay Stine and Harold L. Hummel; and sisters, Betty Kemp and Robin Nye.
She is survived by her children, Cathy Stank and husband, Chris, of Hanover, Jackie Kline and wife, Lorie, of Mechanicsburg, and Brian K. Hummel and wife, Michelle,
of State College; step-children, Sandra Finleon, of San Antonio, Texas, Wilma Reese and husband, Mark, of Lancaster, and Earl R. Hummel, of Milroy; adopted brother, Michael McCartle, of Sunbury; 12 grandchildren; and fve great-grandchildren.
Loretta enjoyed attending church at the chapel at Valley View.
Earlier in life she was a dedicated and respected self-employed Notary Public, serving the community for many years with integrity and professionalism.
In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time in nature, camping and appreciating the beauty of birds and the companionship of her beloved dogs.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at Mt. Rock Cemetery, with Pastor Ed Kauffman offciating.

Michael B. Henry, 57, of Whitwell, Tenn., formerly of Port Royal, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with end-stage heart failure.
Born on Jan. 13, 1968, in Lewistown, Michael was raised in Walnut. He was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. From a young age, Michael’s life and passion revolved around anything with gears and a motor. This passion seamlessly transitioned into his distinguished professional career in mold design and prototype. He thrived on working closely with clients, bringing their designs to life with absolute perfection and precision. His colleagues at Pfaltzgraff in York, knew
and appreciated his brilliant mind and dedication. Outside of his professional life, Michael’s love for mechanics extended to his hobbies, particularly his cherished muscle cars, especially his Camaros, and his show truck.
He was a quiet, brilliant man whose witty and lowkey humor brought joy to those around him. Michael had a remarkable ability to create effciencies in everything he touched. In his semi-retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed his life as a chicken farmer, a testament to his versatility and love for working with his hands.
Michael’s proudest and happiest achievement was the life he built with his beloved wife of 39 years, Patty. Their enduring love was the cornerstone of his world.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Patty; his loving mother, S. Agnes; and several nieces and nephews who will dearly miss his quiet strength and wit. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald S. Henry, and his hero and big brother, Mark A. Henry.
A graveside service was to be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Nook.

Douglas Hugh Harris, 68, of Port Royal, passed away on Aug. 14, 2025 at his home in Beale Township.

Florence Ruth Hoar, formerly of Milroy, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025 at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown. She was born on July 12, 1929 in Milroy, to the late Oliver A. and Florence C. (Baker) Shank. She
is preceded in death by her husband, Foster Ray Hoar, who passed away on March 29, 2003. She is survived by her son, Frederick R. Hoar and wife, Lori of Lewistown; grandchildren, Sonny Ritchey and husband, J.D. of Lewistown and Kurtis Hoar and wife, Amanda Flores of Va.; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Stahl of Lewistown, and Kimber and Kamden Hoar of Va.; a brother, Kenneth E. Shank and wife, Kathy of Milroy and a sister, Donna Briner and husband, Richard of Ariz.

Doug graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1974 where he was a standout basketball player. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fshing and hunting, and shortly after high school devoted much of his free time to weightlifting and working out. He was a proud father and bricklayer working for the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman (Local #5) union out of Harrisburg. In addition to completing many masonry jobs here in Juniata County (in his easily recognizable green truck) he helped build schools, prisons and many other large construction projects all over the state of Pennsylvania.
The memorial service will be private and his ashes will be spread on the land he loved so much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.



Phyllis I. Herbert, 93, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at Greenwood Village. She was born on March 4, 1932, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Luther and Mable (Wagner) Hassinger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her frst husband, Paul H. Youtzy; her second husband, Frank B. Herbert; her brother, Robert A. Hassinger; her daughterin-law, Trudy Renninger; her son-in- law, Roy Henry Jr.; her stepmother, Mildred (Smith) Hassinger; and stepdaughter, Pamela Herbert.
She is survived by her children, Darlene K. Henry of Lewistown; Tom R. Youtzy and wife Nancy of Lewistown; Deborah K. Winters and husband
Clayton of Strasburg; Terry R. Youtzy and wife Lisa of Longfellow; Alan S. Youtzy of Longfellow; Patty J. Shiffett and husband Donnie of Lewistown. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, special nephew Glenny Marks and wife Dee of Lewistown; stepdaughter Lucretia L. Hepburn; and a close friend, Sharon Yetter.
Phyllis was a member of United Methodist Church in Yeagertown and held lifetime membership with the Lewistown Loyal Order of Moose. During her early career, she worked as a seamstress at Arrow Shirt Factory and Scottie’s Fashions. Later, she was employed as a bartender at both the Belleville Restaurant and Henry’s Subs and Suds.
Her hobbies included playing bingo and crocheting blankets for her family, she was known as the life of the party.
A viewing was to be conducted from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, located at 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. James Joseph Jones “Jim, J.J.”, 83, of Miffintown, passed away at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, Thursday, Aug. 7 with his family by his side.
Born Feb. 4, 1942 in Newport, Perry County, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Dunkelberger) Jones.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deborah (Myers) Jones; sons, Scott Jones and wife, Mary, of Newport, Joseph Jones and wife, Susan, of Newport, and daughter Kristen Gaisior and husband, Michael, of Miffintown; six grandchildren Anthony, Hannah, James, Bailey, Elizabeth, and Sylvi; fve great grandchildren Westin, Wade, Katie, Rowan,and Ashton; siblings, Charlene Hodos, of Duncanon, and David Jones, of Carlisle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alyce Havercamp.
Jim was a graduate of Newport High School. He joined and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska. He retired from PPL after 30 years of service. Jim continued working delivering coal, which he did for 55 years. He was known as the “Coal man”.

Debbie J. Kibe, 66, of Milroy, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at home.
Born on Feb. 19, 1959, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Lorma (Worthy) McConaughey. On March 7, 1980, she married Brad L. Kibe, who survives at their home.
Along with her husband, she is survived by

Debbie was a store manager at Nittany Minit Mart until her early retirement due to health concerns.

David R. Linn, 78, of Newton Hamilton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Hadlee, Ax, and Nash; and a brother, Terry Linn. Linn was a 1965 graduate of Captain Jack High School in Mount Union.
Following school, he honorably served his country in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam Confict. He was employed at the Harbison Walker Brick Yard and Jim’s Anchorage as a boat mechanic before being self-employed with Dave Linn’s Garage. He was a past member of the Newton Wayne Fire Company and enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. Most of all he loved to spend time with his wife and family, especially his grandchildren.

Frances Martin, known to her family as “Toots,” passed away peacefully into heaven in Virginia Beach, Va. on Aug. 5, 2025. Frances was born and raised in Lewistown. She graduated from Lewistown High School in 1961. After graduation Frances married her high school sweetheart and was a loving and supportive military spouse, mother, and grandmother. She made many sacrifces in support of her family and held multiple and diverse occupations while accompanying her military spouse during numerous relocations to various Army bases across the world. Her most lasting and fulflling occupation prior to retirement was that of a Delta Airlines baggage handler in Augusta, Ga.
In her retirement and later years, Frances enjoyed travelling and spending time with friends and family. She especially liked attending live events and going to the movies. Her fondness for the Hallmark channel was well known and she watched it religiously. Most of all, she treasured being “Maw Maw” to her three grandchildren. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, her gentleness, her smile, her
laugh, her sense of humor, her love of music and her devotion to her lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Seoane (husband David); her son, Ronald Martin (wife Tyana); three grandchildren, Jared Martin, Jayden Martin and Brandon Seoane; her sister, Nina Wagner; her niece, Cathy Yohn; and her nephews, David Wagner and Douglas Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Sausman McNitt; her father, Percy Sausman; husband, Ronald Martin; and nephew, Daniel Wagner.

C. Kenneth ‘Ken’ Myers, 94, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, after a brief illness. He lived independently, worked out, drove and remained in good health until his AML diagnosis on Aug. 9. He graduated with honors in 1953. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning his Masters in Civil Engineering. While at MIT, he entered the Offcer’s Training Program with the United
Scott E. Miller, 64, of Belleville, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. He was born on March 23, 1961, in Hamburg, Pa., to the late Ernest O. and Joyce (Fox) Miller. On April 5, 2006, he married Lisa J. (Yoder) Miller, who survives at their home.

In June 1958, Ken began working for Gannett Fleming Consulting Engineers and became a licensed Professional Engineer in 1970. He led the wastewater treatment division for many years before retiring from Gannett in January 1994.
Mr. Myers was a member of Paxton Presbyterian Church where he served as usher, president of the board of trustees and clerk of session.
Mr. Myers met his bride to be on Oct. 26, 1945, when he was 14 and she 13. Ken married Barbie on Dec. 27, 1954. They settled in Lenker Manor, Swatara Township in 1958, where they raised their two children. In 1982, Barbie and Ken moved to Barb’s dream house on the Conodoquinet Creek in Mechanicsburg. They enjoyed 34 years in their beautiful estate in Hampden Township, relocating to Bethany Village in 2016. He loved taking care of the proper-
dren, Linda, Barbara and Rebecca of Reedsville; his best buddy was his pig “Scooter,” siblings: Cindy Weist and husband Daniel “Woody” of Leesport, Pa., Sandy Fryer and husband Larry of Woodstock, Md., and Todd Miller and wife Pat of Hamburg, Pa.
Scott graduated in 1979 from Hamburg High School. He and his wife were lifelong dairy farmers.
He was a lifetime member of Virginville Grange and attended Maple Grove Mennonite Church.
He enjoyed attending cow sales, going to farm auctions, bowling, watching sports on TV, and gathering with friends.

Donna L. McCoy, 77, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at her home.
Born Jan. 9, 1948, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Russell Brown and Elsie (Youtzy) Brown.

ents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Harget.
She is survived by her husband, John F. McCoy, Jr.; children, Melinda Breon, Jennifer Taylor, and husband, Phil, Todd Breon, and wife, Cloe, Amy McCoy and John F. McCoy; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Sonja Ewing all of Lewistown.
Donna attended Lewistown High School.
She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.
Donna was a seamstress and worked for Scotty’s Fashions.
She liked to raise and sell poodles and enjoyed watching hummingbirds.

Harry S. “Dater” Nale, 89, of Milroy, entered into rest on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at GeisingerñLewistown Hospital.
Born on July 4, 1936, in Siglerville, he was the son of the late Albert and Celia (Harshberger) Nale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Bartenfelder and June Abee, and his grandson, Jan-Alan Nale.
On Feb. 17, 1954, Harry married his devoted wife of 71 years, Diane (Bott) Nale, who survives. He is also survived by his sons, Dr. Leonard Nale and wife, Judi of Southport, N.C., Jeffrey Nale of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Steven Nale of Davie, Florida. Cherished grandchildren include: Jennifer Stanber-
ry and husband, Wade, Michele Nale, Danielle Watkins and husband, Dustin, and Shea Nale and wife, Allison; along with great-grandchildren, Dominic and Tyler Stanberry, and Vivian and Ellie Nale, who were his greatest joy.
Harry dedicated forty years of service as an engineer at Standard Steel.
A man of faith, he was a member of the Congregational Church in Siglerville. He was also proud to be a 32nd Degree Mason of Lewistown Lodge No. 203 and a member of Tall Cedars.
An avid outdoorsman, Harry found fulfllment in hunting and traveled across the United States in pursuit of his passion. From deer and turkey to even rattlesnakes, he enjoyed the challenge of the hunt. He was a lifetime member of Spelunkers, a skilled farrier by trade, and a member of the Keystone Snake Club.
A memorial service was to be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at King Funeral Home & Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Pastor Mark Hill offciating. John Albert O’Donnell, 61, of Milroy, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at Brookline Manor, Miffintown.
Born on Oct. 5, 1963, in Lewistown. He was the son of Glenda (Mayes) O’Donnell and the late David J. O’Donnell.
Surviving are siblings, Janet Lea Cates of Texas, David M. O’Donnell, Sr. and wife, Donna of Reedsville, and William E. O’Donnell and wife, Tonia of Milroy.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Bertha O’Donnell of New Lancaster Valley and Albert and Dolly Mayes of Granville, as well as several aunts and uncles, and a great-niece Katie.
He graduated in 1983
from Chief Logan High School.
He was raised in the Lockes Banks Evangelical Methodist Church and loved attending church, and was a faithful attender, only missing when he was sick.
John loved the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State. He enjoyed playing bingo when he was able.

Steven L. Palm, 72, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after complications from kidney failure.
Born March 27, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Robert and Pauline (Baker) Palm.
Steve is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dawn (Walker) Palm; his daughters, Heather Miltenberger, her husband, Mike, and Natalie Payne and her husband, Anthony, all of Lewistown. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, who were the light of his life; Rowan, Tucker and Luella.
He was a proud graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Business Administration, where he carried his knowledge into running the family business. Known for his uncanny ability to fx just about anything, Steve was the proud owner of Robert S. Palm Contracting for
over 50 years, carrying on the legacy of his father. He was a skilled locksmith, evident by his name on the doors of many area businesses. He was also passionate in helping others learn the trades. He worked daily with his friend, confdant and mentee, Gavin Taylor, passing along his knowledge for future generations. He also served as a respected instructor for the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. Earlier in his career, he worked for Zampelli Electronics and was also a disc jockey for WKVA.
His love for the community was evident in his dedication to local organizations. He was involved with the Kiwanis Club of Lewistown, Chief Logan Lions Club, where he received the coveted Melvin Jones Fellow Award and was a lifetime member of the Miffin County Historical Society. Steve had a passion for antiques, with collections he curated over many years.
A memorial service was to be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at King-Barr Funeral Home, LLC, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.

Hunting, fshing, and collecting eagle memorabilia brought him endless enjoyment. In his younger years, he found joy on the softball feld, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Aquillas O. Peachey, 74, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at his home after a battle with cancer.
Born on Feb. 15, 1951, he was a son of the late Samuel and Mary (Peachey) Peachey. On Nov. 21, 1978, he married his surviving wife, Barbara A. (Weaver) Peachey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Mary and Valentine Petersheim of McAlisterville, Kathy and John Kurtz of Peosta, Iowa, Mike and Emma Peachey of Cochranton, Andy Peachey of McAlisterville, Rachel Peachey, at home, Nelson and Linda Mae Peachey of Ickesburg, and Becky and Wilmer Peight of Miffintown; 30 grandchildren; siblings, Sam Jr. and Susie Peachey of McAlisterville, Sarah and Ike Hostetler of Mechanicsville, Md., Shem and Lora Peachey of Alamogordo, N.M., and Rachel and Paul Troyer of Miffintown; a sisterin-law, Judy Peachey of McAlisterville; and many nieces and nephews.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Dr. Donald E. Potter Jr., 84, announce his peaceful passing on March 8, 2025.
Don was born in Lewistown, son of the late Donald and Madelyn Potter. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Paola Potter.
Don’s professional journey began at St. Petersburg Junior College, followed by te Pennsylvania State College of Optometry. He then began his military career in the United States Army where he met Paola who worked nearby his offce at Kagnew Station military base in Asmara, Eritrea. They married back home and later welcomed their only child, Kelly.
Don continued his education by pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at The University of Padua
in Italy, learning Italian as a second language. As an added bonus, Paola’s family lived in the area so they were surrounded with love and support while abroad. After graduation, Don and his family came home to the United States where he resumed active duty in the Army, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel, serving through both the Vietnam and Gulf Wars.
After his military retirement, he worked for an additional 20 years as the chief medical offcer for both Dunham and Fillmore Army Health Clinics. A Fellow of The American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Potter received numerous accolades and awards in recognition of his service and commitment to the well-being of others.
Don was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, known for his kindness, and ever-present calm demeanor.
He is survived by his son, Kelly Potter, and wife Tracy; grandchildren Madison, Olivia, and Logan; sister Francis Ring and husband, Glenn; brother, James Potter, as well as four nephews and one niece.

Paola Laura Potter, 83, passed away on Dec. 31, 2023, surrounded by her husband of 58 years and family.
Paola was the youngest daughter born on Feb. 28, 1940, to Olga and Renzo Pastore. She spent her childhood both in Africa and in Italy where she became fuent in three languages. Paola met and fell in love with Donald Potter at Kagnew Station military base in Asmara, Eritrea, where she was working as an executive secretary and he was serving in the United States Army. She would fondly recall their long distance letters and phone
calls exchanged after his deployment was complete. Paola and Don joyfully reunited in the United States where they were married and started their lives together.
During her husband’s military career, Paola was fortunate to spend several years in Italy. A devout Catholic, she never missed Sunday Mass, wherever her travels took her. In 2023, Paola and Don moved to Florida to be closer to family. She truly enjoyed the laughter, home cooked meals, and the Florida sunshine.
Paola was predeceased by her parents and sister Loredana Folli. She is survived by her husband Donald Potter, son Kelly Potter, wife Tracy and grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, and Logan; sister, Vera Losi; sister-in-law Francis Ring and husband Glenn; brother-in-law, James Potter, four nephews and one niece.

Born Jan. 26, 1957, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Hoffman) Proud. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous siblings.
Matt will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Connie (Kling) Proud, who stood faithfully by his side through life’s joys and challenges.

Paulette Marie Helen Reed, 92, of McClure passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown.
She was born in Ancy-sur-Moselle, Lorraine, France on April 2, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Victor Zekl and
Care, McAlisterville.
Born on June 12, 1932, in McAlisterville, Juniata County, he is a son of the late D. Carl and Marian (Adams) Ritzman.
On June 11, 1955, he married his late wife, Cornelia (Horning) Ritzman, with whom he was blessed to share over 64 years of marriage before her passing on April 24, 2020.
He is survived by his three sons, Robin A. Ritzman and his wife, Valerie, of Akron, OH, Mark N. Ritzman and his wife, Penny, of Millerstown, and James D. Ritzman and his wife, Tambra, of Thompsontown; six grandchildren, Kurt Ritzman and his wife, Chloe, Holly Beall and her husband, Mark, Christy Krahel and her husband, John, Karis Ritzman, Hannah Schilthuis and her husband, Michael and Elizabeth Strawser and her husband, Brad; fve great grandchildren, Ivy Beall, Natalie Schilthuis, Nathan Schilthuis, Hope Schilthuis,

Paulette spent her childhood (1939-1945) in a region occupied by Germany during World War II. She often spoke with WWII veterans and shared stories of living near where Gen Patton’s 3rd Army stalled, recalling how soldiers gave local children rations, sparking her fond-

Mr. Ritzman was a 1950 graduate of Fayette High School, a 1958 graduate of Bloomsburg University, and honorably served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed and retired as a Manager of Data Processing for Weis Markets, Inc. of Sunbury with over 30 years of service.

She worked at Hartley’s Potato Chips in the early 1960s, Fisher Electronics, and later as a seamstress at Kirby Manufacturing in McClure. After retiring, she started a craft business making Barbie Doll clothes that brought joy to many children.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church and sang in the choir.
Paulette touched many lives with her acts of kindness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and

Kay graduated in 1968 from Kishacoquillas High School and worked as an aide for her nephew for the past 20 years.
She enjoyed playing bingo at the Burnham Fire Company. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also visiting friends. Per her wishes, there will be no services.
Burial will be private at the Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

Donna Faye Samudio, 82, formerly of Lewistown, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at Dayspring of Miami Valley in Fairborn, O.H.
Born Aug. 15, 1942, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Enos and Charlotte (Lantz) Kauffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Renee Richard, and her sister, Shirley Bulick.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Michael Samudio, children: Tara (Bratton) Kimmel and husband, Joseph, of Hooversville; Cory Bratton and wife, Michelle, of Lewistown; and Jeremy Bratton and wife, Kristen, of St. George, Utah. Also surviving are her siblings: Wanda Stuter, of McClure; Betty Yocum, of Lewistown; Merle Kauffman and wife, JoAnn, of Burnham; Kay Rupp, of Reedsville; Gwen Keith and husband, Jim, Cindy Yoder, and Dianne Taylor and husband, Scot, all of Granville; and Stanley Dudick, of Burnham. She was a proud grandmother
to Taya, Natalie, and Kyra Kimmel, and Noah, Max, Luke, and Lincoln Bratton.
Donna was a devoted member of Paintersville C&MA Church, where she faithfully served as worship leader and joyfully volunteered in various church activities. Earlier in life, she enjoyed bowling, and throughout the years her greatest joy came from her family. She treasured holidays, delighted in celebrating “sister bashes” for her siblings’ birthdays, and created countless cherished memories with those she loved. A dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions, Donna approached life with enthusiasm and heart. She will be remembered as a loving, steadfast, and selfess mother whose children were her greatest blessing and life’s priority.
A funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life was to be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Paintersville C&MA Church, 3195 Back Maitland Road, Lewistown, with Rev. Bernard Carpenter offciating. A viewing was to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, as well as from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Jack L. Shade, Jr., 84, of Lewistown, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025.
Born June 4, 1941, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Jack L. Shade, Sr. and Marjorie (Glace) Shade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, J. Douglas Shade, his twin sister, Bonnie Hockenberry, and sister, Marjorie Shade.
On Oct. 19, 1974, Jack married, Gerna (Hannon) Shade, with whom he shared more than 50 years of marriage. Along with his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Stacey Piper and husband, Steve of Lewistown, Rhonda Wingard and husband, David of Reedsville, Jack
Lydia S. Swarey, 67, of 245 Spring Run Road, Belleville, passed away at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1958, in Belleville, to Nancy L. (Kanagy) Swarey of Belleville and the late Urie D. Swarey.
Watson and wife, Dana of Lewistown, Raelene Moore and husband, Donald of Pueblo, Colo., and Christine Myers and husband, Steven of Lewistown; his brother, Barry Shade and wife, Linda of Kansas; as well as many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jack graduated from Chief Logan High School in 1959. A proud veteran, Jack faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career at Standard Steel, where he worked as a machine operator for 40 years.
Jack attended Vira United Methodist Church. He was also an active member of the Yeagertown Firehouse, where he formed lasting friendships.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services.
Jack’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses of 365 Hospice for their care and support during his time of illness.

Todd Kerstetter Sutton, 57, of Lewistown, was called home into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at his residence. Born on Feb. 10, 1968, in Chambersburg, Todd was the beloved son of the late John H. Sutton, and his devoted mother, Mariann (Kerstetter) Sutton, who survives.

M. Joyce (Wagner) Stuck, 99, formerly of Belleville, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.
On July 26, 1995, Todd married the love of his life, Heather (Bernstein) Sutton, with whom he shared 30 years marriage. He is also survived by his cherished daughter, Allison Cummings and her husband, Colt, of Mound City, Kan., and the treasures of his heart, his grandchildren, Bentley and August. Todd also shared an unbreakable bond with his nephew, Caleb Bernstein, and his wife, Kristin, of Lewistown. To Todd, Caleb was more than a nephew, he was like a son. He is further survived by his siblings, Terri Lee Sutton and John Troy Sutton with his wife, Sara, all of Lewistown, and their son Eli Sutton.
Todd lived a life of diligence, strength, and integrity. He dedicated 31 years to Standard Steel as a supervisor before bringing his leadership to Bonney Forge in Mount Union, D & R Firearms in Belleville,
She was born on Sept. 10, 1925, in McClure, to the late Clayton M. and Alice M. (Haffey) Wagner. On April 20, 1946, she married Jay B. Stuck, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2014. She and Jay were always very lovingly devoted to one another.

A proud 1986 graduate of Chief Logan High School, Todd’s passion for athletics was undeniable. Whether on the basketball court or the track, his natural talent and determination shone brightly. He was honored as the last Chief Logan student-athlete to receive the prestigious Harry RothrockñDick Weber Award as Miffin County’s Outstanding Basketball Player, and he celebrated a state championship victory in the 1600-meter relay alongside his teammatesóa triumph he held close to his heart. Beyond his career and athletic achievements, Todd found true joy in God’s creation. He was an avid outdoorsman, often found hunting or fshing, especially in the company of his best friend, Chris Snook. Those who shared these moments with Todd will remember his laughter, his competitive spirit,
husband, Marc; and Melissa Stuck and husband, John Campetella; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack K. Wagner and his wife, Zilla, as well as a son-in-law, Glenn Krepps.
Joyce was a graduate of Belleville High School. She later attended and graduated from the Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Lewistown Hospital for a number of years.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belleville. She enjoyed volunteering for the local bloodmobiles, attending the retired nurses’ luncheons and caring for her cats over the years. She

A member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church, Todd’s life was marked by a quiet but steadfast devotion to his Savior, a devotion that guided him in his love for his family, his friendships, and his community.

Darlene A. Stine, 78, of Richfeld passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born on Oct. 14, 1946, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Milford L. and Anna Mae I. (Shea) Stine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Stuck Jr.; grandson, Thomas Shoemaker Jr.; granddaughter, Chantel Worley; siblings, Linda M. Gary E., Gerald J., and Terry Stine.
She is survived by a companion, Earl M. Fike; she was a brave and courageous single mother of her six children, Rose M. Dietz (Carl), of Lewistown, Tami L. Shoemaker (Dennys Navedo-Lopez), of Reading, Angela L. Forshey, of Lewistown, Christine M. Forshey, of Lewistown, Frank Forshey Jr., of Miffintown, Scott A. Forshey (Shirley), of Lewistown; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and fve great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry A. Stine, of Miffin, Shirley A. Sattler, of Lewistown, Nancy L. Miller (John),
Lewistown, Lynn M. Stine, of Lewistown, and Annette Fortune.
She was a member of United Church of Christ in Richfeld.
Darlene was a 1965 graduate of Lewistown High School.
She worked at New Holland where she retired after 19 years of service.
Darlene contributed to several charities, including St. Jude, Native American, and U.S. veterans’ organizations. For approximately 10 years, she and Earl organized a Chinese auction at the Lewistown Moose Club for the MakeA-Wish Foundation, raising a total of over $40,000. The annual event was a fun time attended by family and friends. In their fnal auction, about $3,000 was raised for Lewistown Shelter Services. After retiring, she volunteered at the thrift shop for several years. Her kindness and generosity will not be forgotten.
She enjoyed bingo, visiting casinos, and taking travel tours around the state and country. She loved annual Stine family reunions and making deviled eggs.

Vicky L. (Smith) Tate, of Burnham, passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2025, into the loving arms of her father, George A. Smith Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2010, after a twoand-a-half-year-long battle with pulmonary fbrosis.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Michael R. Tate, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. His devotion and loving care will be remembered by her family and friends as an act of true and unwavering love.
She is also survived by her daughters, Amanda Tate Yohn and fancÈ, Barry Osborne, of Lewistown, and April Tate Huffnagle, of Burnham. She was blessed with six
grandchildren: Bailee, Charli and Skylar Zendt; Jayna and K. Keefer; and “her girl” Adalyn Yohn as well as her beloved dog, Luke.
She also leaves behind her mother, Clara V. Smith, of Reedsville, and sisters, Cathy Forsythe, of Lewistown, and Nancy Ferster and her husband, Kurt, of State College.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother- and father-in-law, Lee and Dorene Tate; brothers-inlaw, Rodney Tate, Andy Tate and Ed Forsythe, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Dawn Tate, along with many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was a graduate of the 1972 class of Kishacoquillas High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi and friend.
A memorial service was to be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville. There was to be a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial was to follow in Church Hill Cemetery.

Scott Andrew Voyles, 59, of Lewistown, passed away at his home on Aug. 2, 2025.
Born Jan. 16, 1966, in Illinois, he was the son of the late Barbara A. Voyles.
Scott is survived by his daughter, Mya S. (Voyles) Henderson of Lewistown. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Karla S. Voyles; his sister, Cheryl Frankhouser; and his mother, Barbara A. Voyles.
Scott was a good man with a good heart. He always put others before himself and made sure his
family was taken care of before anything else.
Shortly after graduating from Lewistown Area High School in 1984, he joined the Army that same year and was a part of the 101st Airborne Division. After being honorably discharged in 1990, he began working in various job positions but was primarily focused on electrical and maintenance. He would go on to meet his wife, Karla, and have a daughter whom he loved.
He worked for various companies which include Empire Kosher, Trinity Plastics, First Quality, and the Standard Steel. When he was not working, he could be found in his garage/workshop either working on cars or designing and building furniture for his home.
He loved to play a game or two of pool at the Major League and would make friends through his many stories of life.
Per his wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services. His only wish was that he had made an impact on anyone he had met during his time here on earth.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter, other family, and friends.


David Earl Wilson of McVeytown went to his heavenly home on July 31, 2025.
Born March 23, 1957 in Lewistown. He spent a large portion of his early adult life in Lancaster County before moving back to his roots in Miffin County.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Helm) Wilson of McVeytown; daughters, Sierra Fisher and husband, Timothy of Wendell, N.C. and Molly Gongloff and husband Joseph, of Huntingdon; the light of his life, granddaughter, Gwynevere Gongloff; a sister Linda Hess and husband, Joseph of Mount Joy; and numerous nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Doris (Pearson) Wilson and Charles H. Wilson and niece Heather M. Hess.
Dave grew up farming with his father where he developed a work ethic that would carry him through his life. Over the course of his life Dave worked in nu-
merous professions, working as a driller for Myers Bro’s Wells, set-up at AMP electronics, machinist at Innovative Designs, INC, butcher at Kline’s Market, many years as a laborer at Poole Anderson Construction and most recently, Antares Site Work, LLC. Priding himself in exceeding quality standards and an unwavering work ethic that he passed down to his family.
Dave was an avid outdoorsman and waterfowl hunter. He was an active member of the Atkinson Mills Sportsmen Club. He most often could be found in the woods or on the river on a crisp weekend morning.
During Dave’s short battle with cancer, the community he built rallied around him and his family. His family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the friends and family that were there to lend a helping hand, visit with him, and provide support during this time. The family would also like to thank his medical and care teams that helped navigate his late-stage diagnosis.
A Celebration of Life was to be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025 at Atkinson Mills Sportsmen Club (55 Sportsmen Club Lane, McVeytown, PA 17051) from 3 to 6 p.m. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend!

Gary A. Wagner, 87, of McClure passed away on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewistown.
He was born Dec. 12, 1937 in McClure, a son of the late George H. and Cleo (Mattern) Wagner. On April 16, 1960 he married the former Mabel L. Leister who preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2019.
Gary graduated from McClure High School with the class of 1955. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959. During his time in the Navy, he was aboard the USS Coral Sea when the ship was decommissioned after nearly 43 years of service. Gary was also on board with the frst crew of the USS Midway after installation of the new angled fight deck.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Dormantown.
Gary worked at the Beavertown Weaving Mill and then went on to work at Standard Steel in Burnham until his retirement in 2000.
He worked security at Selinsgrove Speedway in the 70’s and was a very active member for 65 years for the Bannerville Fire Company. Gary was a long-standing member of the McClure Bean Soup Committee which he took great pride in. He also enjoyed hunting, fshing, and spending time at the family cabin.
Surviving are two sons, Robert A. (Tammie) Wagner and Rodney A. Wagner and his girlfriend, Michele Norris; three grandchildren, Derek Wagner, Nicholas Wagner and his fancÈe, Madyson Forsythe, and Michaela Wagner and her fancÈe, Reece Bell; and one great-granddaughter, Caydance Wagner.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Wagner.
A viewing was to be held on Friday, Aug. 8 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown followed by the funeral service at 11 with his nephew, Pastor Jeffrey Wagner offciating.

Leah E. Young, 89, of Pleasant View Road, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025 at Embassy of Woodland Park in Orbisonia.
Born Nov. 12, 1935, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Andrew E. and Nancy Pauline (Miller) Harshbarger.
Her husband, Russell T. “Spoke” Young, whom she married Sept. 11, 1953, preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2004.
Also preceding her in death were: three sisters, Genevieve Boozel, Eleanor Bishop, Patsy Wike; and seven brothers, Alvin “Bud”, Clarence “Ducky”, Donald “Jake”, Warren “Butch”, Walter “Ike”, Ralph “Bink”, and George Harshbarger.
Surviving are: a son, Edward L. Young and wife, Carol Ann, of McVeytown;
a daughter, Nina M. Tedeschi and husband, James, of Altoona; two brothers, Melvin “Ted” Harshbarger and wife, Ruth, of McVeytown, Charles L. Harshbarger and wife, Frances, of McVeytown; and three grandchildren, Adam Young, Angelica Nardelli, and Chelsi Tedeschi.
She was employed for many years as a quality control inspector at Fisher Electronics and several local small businesses, and later became known as “Grammy Young” when she was a Foster Grandparent with the Summit Early Learning Headstart Program.
Leah attended the Ryde United Methodist Church and the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren; and volunteered with the McVeytown Fire Co. Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, putting together puzzles with her family and friends, and playing bingo.

Savannah Esther Zook, 12, of Miffin, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at her home.
