We’re Expanding

We’re expanding our services to help reach even more people with a lifelimiting illness in your community!

Since our last newsletter, we’ve opened our Purbeck Day Hospice in Wareham and welcomed three lovely patients on the first day. This number has grown to an incredible 12 patients a week, who have quickly settled in and developed some wonderful friendships.

As well as Purbeck, Lewis-Manning has also launched a drop-in hub in Corfe Mullen, so that patients, as well as their carers and loved ones, can pop in and spend time with our wonderful nurses and clinical team.

It’s not just our community hubs that are growing, our Breathlessness service and Lymphoedema clinic are also helping and reaching more people than ever! In March, we celebrated the grand opening of the breathlessness service in Wareham after the incredible success of the Swanage and Wimborne expansion. This means that our amazing specialist clinical team can now support people suffering with breathlessness as a result of conditions such as lung cancer and COPD, closer to their homes, which is vital for the people with the types of conditions that need to use this service.
