This term we said a bittersweet farewell to some of our German students. While we are sad to see them go, we ' re delighted to share that they've since reunited for a special meet-up in Dusseldorf. It is heart warming to see that the strong connections they built during their time here continue to thrive beyond the school. We wish them all the best for the future and look forwards to hearing about what they get up too next!
Our boarders have been making the most of their weekend activities. Alongside zorbing, laser tag was a particular favourite of the Eleanor girls and had everyone strategizing and showing their competitive side. These action-packed weekends have provided a welcome break from the diligent studying the girls do the remainder of the week. It has been amazing to see our boarders take part with so much enthusiasm we can’t wait to see what adventures the summer term weekends bring!
It was an absolute pleasure to take the Year 12 and 13 girls in Eleanor out for their house dinner’s at Tamburino’s and Wagamama’s. It was a lovely opportunity to spend some time together prior to the approaching summer term. These evenings are treasured by students and staff as it is lovely to come together to enjoy good food and conversation. I hope that all our boarders have a lovely Easter break and we look forward to welcoming them all back to school in April.
It has been a term of change and excitement for d by both fond farewells and promising beginnings. We said goodbye to our previous Housemaster, Mr Cannon, whose dedication and care made a lasting impact on the boys and the house as a whole. It was heartening to visit him recently and see how well he and his family have settled into their new school. He spoke warmly of his time at Leweston and was keen to hear all the latest news from Antony House. While we miss him, we are delighted to see him thriving in this new chapter.
The boys have thrown themselves into a fantastic array term, displaying their characteristic energy and enthusiasm. Many stepped out of their comfort zones in the public speaking competition, delivering thoughtful and compelling speeches. The sporting front has been equally dynamic, with the boys enjoying a spirited game of zorbing football equal parts skill and hilarity. However, a particular highlight was an action-packed afternoon of laser tag, where camaraderie and competitive spirit were on full display. It’s been wonderful to see the boys embracing new challenges and making the most of every opportunity.
Looking ahead, we are excited for the future of Antony House. With the departure of our current Head Boy, a proud boarder, we are encouraged by the applications from Year 12 boys keen to step into this important leadership role. We wish them the very best of luck as they prepare for this exciting responsibility. Our thoughts also turn to the boys in Years 11 and 13, who will soon be sitting their public examinations. We are immensely proud of their hard work and dedication, and we wish them every success in the term ahead. Antony House continues to be a place of growth, camaraderie, and ambition, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
What an exciting term it’s been here in Martha & Cecilia! The students have had an incredible time with our weekend activities, and it’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and energy A definite highlight were the zorbing activities, including zorbing football and zorbing skittles, which were an absolute hit. There’s nothing quite like watching the students roll around in giant inflatable balls, laughing and competing with each other in good spirits!
In addition to the zorbing fun, we ’ ve had thrilling sessions of archery, ringos, bowling, and laser tag The smiles on their faces said it all It’s been amazing to witness the team spirit, competition, and camaraderie amongst the boarders as they engaged in these action-packed activities.
Amidst all the excitement, we also had two wellness weekends, providing a muchneeded break for the students. These weekends allowed the boarders to unwind and recharge, something that’s always important in the midst of their busy schedules. The balance of fun and relaxation has truly helped everyone feel refreshed and ready to take on the next challenges.
I’m also delighted to share that we ’ ve seen an incredible number of green flags earned this term. The students have really embraced the Leweston Learner, and it’s been wonderful to see so many exceptional numbers achieved. Their efforts are truly something to be proud of!
