DEAR FRIENDS,

I am so excited to welcome you back to the Levitt for our fifth summer of building community through music! We’ve got a vibrant lineup of musicians, so you won’t want to miss even one of the 50 FREE CONCERTS.

This summer, we’re celebrating our fifth birthday with an updated genre list, including the new HipHop and Indie Vibe categories, filled with a diverse and exciting range of musicians bringing fresh talent to the Levitt stage. Levitt shows will once again be live-streamed thanks to our partnership with South Dakota Public Broadcasting, and many of our artists will again bring outreach opportunities to those who aren’t able to join us on the lawn.

The Levitt is also excited to bring you new and familiar special events to help celebrate the summer with food, music, family, and fun. This year, the Levitt has partnered with the LSS Multi-Cultural Center to host the annual Festival of Cultures right here at the Levitt. We’re also curating a mix of music and culture festivals for the summer to celebrate the diversity of Sioux Falls, including the All My Relatives Music Festival, partnerships with the Juneteenth and Kunama community festivals, and a July 4th celebration on the lawn.

I hope to see each of you at the Levitt this summer, singing, dancing, eating, and celebrating five years of building community through music!

SCOTT TOURNET

SATURDAY, AUGUST 12

Like the Black Keys, Jack White, and Gary Clark Jr., Tournet manages to update the blues rock genre by incorporating deep bass, hip-hop influenced grooves, and modern production. His music immediately sounds familiar while also feeling new and exciting.

“I’m always trying to find the cross section of new and old,” says Tournet. “My passion for vinyl records from the 50s through the 70s is never-ending, but I’m not interested in recreating anything. I’m always looking to make something new and exciting that feels fresh. In the process of doing that, the music that is in my DNA invariably sneaks through and provides a feeling of comfort and familiarity.”

Their sound was intended to be a hybrid to represent the different backgrounds of each member.
