Clamp this jig to the auxiliary table. The top plate adjusts to the desired angle. Use the support block to wedge it in place and clamp the plates together over the block.

Drill press table

A vertical drilling jig bolts onto the drill press table, which is rotated to vertical. With the jig’s adjustable fence, you can locate the work for drilling into the end of a board.

Drill bits for the drill press include twist bits for metal and woodwork, spade bits for rough drilling in wood only, brad-point bits for more accurate centering, multispur bits for larger-diameter holes, and Forstner bits for angled drilling. Always use a piece of scrap to protect the drill press table or auxiliary table when drilling through any board. Horizontal mortising machines are industrial tools used specifically for boring out mortises. The table moves side to side and
