A Message From Our CEO

I am excited as we continue to provide STEM education for the communities we serve. Our efforts have never been more crucial, and thanks to your support, we are deepening our impact. We've seen young people surpass all expectations when given access to quality STEM education. They've grown from being tech consumers to becoming skilled creators.

Our integrated STEM programs provide continuous learning from elementary through high school, with hands-on activities and digital literacy training that build essential skills for the future. Through our Teen Science Cafés, young people engage directly with scientists and engineers, turning their uncertainty into determination. We've expanded our impact through robotics programs, where students tackle engineering challenges while developing critical thinking and teamwork skills. To multiply our reach, we empower partner organizations with proven curricula and methods, helping successful STEM practices grow throughout our communities.

These programs create opportunities for growth and discovery every day. And it inspires us. We see it in the high school student succeeding in a STEM internship. We see it in the elementary student discovering their talent for coding. And we see it in the middle school student excited about design and 3D printing.

Looking ahead, we'll expand STEM education into new communities. We'll strengthen our current programs and nurture future STEM leaders through mentorship. We'll also enhance our workforce development partnerships and build sustainable community engagement.

Your continued support makes our work possible. It helps create the next generation of leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers. Thank you for helping us reach more students who dream of a future in STEM.

A Message From Our Board Chair

As I reflect on the past year, I am filled with immense pride and excitement for what we have accomplished and what lies ahead. Our organization continues to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our communities

First and foremost, I am in awe of the number of kids and communities we've served this year and the profound impact we've had on both. The LET'S GO™ team has outdone themselves, helping to shape young lives for a bright future. I had the privilege of attending several LET'S GO events, and I must admit, each one left me energized and inspired. Witnessing our programs in action in Annapolis and the summer camp we ran in Baltimore was particularly exciting. Meeting the kids, their parents, and in some cases their teachers gave me great hope that our country will be in good hands in the future.

A highlight of our year was undoubtedly the Gala, celebrating 15 years of LET'S GO serving our community As an engineer, I especially enjoyed The Baltimore Museum of Industry and student-led demonstrations. This event made me incredibly proud to be part of LET'S GO and has demonstrated the growth and impact we've achieved over the years.

I am also thrilled about the board we are building to support LET'S GO. With 16 members now, I am very optimistic about how we can leverage our collective talents to support and grow our organization. The diversity of experience and expertise on our board will be instrumental in guiding LET'S GO towards an even brighter future.

Lastly, I want to highlight two critical developments that may seem "behind the scenes" but are vital to our continued growth and impact: creating our 3-year strategic plan and a comprehensive governance document These foundational pieces will ensure we remain focused, effective, and accountable as we move forward.

To everyone who contributed to making this past year a rousing successour dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, generous donors, and the communities we serve – thank you. Your commitment and support have been invaluable. As we look to the future, let's build on this success and continue to create something truly special here.

Together, we change the world, one young life at a time.

We’re STEM People

Weaving STEM into Every Phase Of

Learning

LET'S GO™ is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2009 to uplift youth who live in historically under-resourced neighborhoods as they pursue academic and professional success. Our central belief is that achieving any economically viable career in the 21stcentury workforce relies on skills and personal qualities inherently gained through informal, hands-on minds-on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education.

Our programs are intentionally designed to introduce students to the exciting world of STEM while simultaneously developing critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and other essential skills. LET’S GO programs empower and actively position every student as belonging in STEM, particularly underrepresented groups.

We build relevant and engaging STEM programs through creativity, innovation, and collaboration with community-based youth organizations and schools in historically under-resourced communities. Our programs impact youth from elementary through high school, immersing them in inclusive STEM environments. High school students benefit from an integrated approach, combining STEM learning with early workforce development to foster academic enrichment and career readiness. College students and early-career individuals receive comprehensive workforce development opportunities to prepare them for their next milestone.

“LET'S GO's education at an early age can help bridge gender and socioeconomic gaps in these fields by providing equal opportunities for all students to explore and succeed. Exposing children to STEM concepts early on in their education lays a strong foundation for future academic and career pursuits in these crucial areas.”

Measuring Our Success

Our comprehensive evaluation approach reflects our commitment to excellence, which includes youth outcome and knowledge surveys, educator outcome surveys, partner satisfaction surveys, and program observations. This rigorous evaluation process not only measures success but also drives continuous improvement. We use the insights gained to refine our training methods and help our partners optimize their STEM programs, ensuring we stay at the cutting edge of effective STEM education.

Key Indicators of Success

Student interest in STEM careers jumped significantly, with 53% of youth surveyed now aspiring to become scientists, engineers, and innovators - up from 42% before participating in a LET'S GO program. This 11% increase represents hundreds of future STEM professionals in the making.

Students demonstrated significant academic growth with an increase of 26 percentage points on content assessments, moving from a pre-test average of 46% to a post-test average of 72%.

2024,a year of

Beginnings

LET’S GO™ will officially move our headquarters to 2601 N. Howard St, Baltimore, MD, 21218 in December 2024. This relocation marks a significant milestone in our journey as we continue to expand our operations and strengthen our presence in Baltimore, a vibrant hub of innovation and community engagement.

Moving our headquarters to this new location allows us to double our operational footprint to 1,800 square feet, providing us with the space we need to accommodate our growing team. This transition is not just about size; it's about fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment that enhances our productivity and creativity.

Miller’s Court is a historic redevelopment of a 100-year-old tin can factory into apartment housing and nonprofit office space in Baltimore’s Remington neighborhood. Offering discounted rates to Baltimore-area teachers, Miller’s Court has found new purpose as an environment where local educators and doers thrive.

Our office will feature individual and open office areas designed to promote both collaboration and focused work, alongside dedicated spaces ideal for workshops and training sessions. We’ll also have a podcast room and a private courtyard perfect for smaller gatherings and events. With three additional conference rooms, we will have ample space to facilitate collaboration across teams.

As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, we are committed to keeping our stakeholders informed. Stay tuned for announcements regarding our Grand Opening in the coming months. We can't wait to welcome you to our new home and continue our mission of making a positive impact in the Baltimore community and beyond!

LET’S GO: Reimagined

This year, LET'S GO, formerly LET’S GO Boys & Girls, Inc., announced a significant rebranding initiative to reflect our mission, staff and stakeholder feedback, and diverse community. This change marks an important milestone in our organization's journey, emphasizing our commitment to rejuvenating our image and broadening our impact.

New Name, Broader Vision

We made a decision to rebrand from LET’S GO Boys & Girls, Inc. to simply LET'S GO. We recognize that our impact extends beyond just boys and girls, encompassing not only K-8 students, but high school, college, and career-ready individuals. By adopting the more concise and inclusive name "LET'S GO," we aim to ensure that every student feels welcomed, valued, and represented in our programs.

A Logo That Speaks Volumes

As part of our rebranding efforts, we've redesigned our logo to better reflect our inclusive approach and K-12 and beyond focus. Our new logo, an atom, symbolizes STEM education as a fundamental building block for workforce readiness. Just as atoms are the basic units of matter that retain the properties of an element, our programs provide students with essential STEM skills that form the basis of their future careers. The atom represents the interdisciplinary nature of STEM fields, connecting physics, chemistry, biology, and technology/engineering. Its structure - a nucleus surrounded by electrons - mirrors our organization's core mission orbited by diverse STEM programs and initiatives.

The new logo embodies the spirit of growth, diversity, and the forward momentum that "LET'S GO" represents. It's a visual representation of our commitment to nurturing the potential in every student, regardless of their age, gender, or background.

Remaining Mission Driven

While our name and logo have changed, our core mission remains the same: to create economic success for underserved and marginalized communities through STEM education and workforce development. We believe that by creating a more inclusive brand, we can better serve our community and inspire more students to reach their full potential.

Looking Ahead

As we embrace this new chapter, LET'S GO remains dedicated to providing high-quality programs that foster academic success, character development, and leadership skills. We're excited about the opportunities this rebranding brings and look forward to continuing our work with students, families, and partners under our new, more inclusive identity. We are excited to move forward, together. LET'S GO!

LET’S Generate Opportunities for Girls in STEM & Ward 8

Historically, STEM fields have been male-dominated. By encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM, we tap into a vast reservoir of talent and ideas that can drive advancements in everything from healthcare to environmental sustainability. Our work with Washington School for Girls exposed over 3 dozen preteens and teens, during their intersession break, to topics in circuity, coding using Arduino, Robotics, and physics.

Ward 8 is one of the District's most under-resourced areas, grappling with housing insecurity, food insecurity, and income inequality, which intensify disparities faced by youth. This year, our partnership with FAN Youth Center, Eagle Academy PCS, and College Tribe supported over 300 youth and families, creating engaging and informative spaces. Participants took part in five community STEM events that raised awareness of pathways in engineering fields, including aerospace, electrical, and mechanical.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY

In 2024, we advanced our mission to deliver hands-on, equitable STEM education across several Anne Arundel County community centers and schools. Engaging middle school students in grades 6-8, our programs aimed to ignite curiosity and establish foundational STEM skills among underserved and underrepresented communities, with a special emphasis on creating pathways to academic and career opportunities that transform communities' future trajectories. Our initiatives included:

Providing comprehensive STEM programs in community centers and schools.

Hosting two STEM Information Seminars

Organizing two STEM Family Engagement Events

Implementing two specialized STEM programs for elementary and middle school students at the Marshall Hope Learning Center, serving the Hispanic, English learner, and immigrant/refugee populations in Annapolis, MD.

CAREER CATALYST

Workforce Development Program

To prepare students for success in the workforce, they need access to a comprehensive network of resources and support. This network should support the development of a broad range of skills while avoiding excessive pressures on the support systems. This is where LET'S GO's Career Catalyst Program steps in.

Since 2017, LET'S GO has developed this program, providing semesterly, scaffolded workforce development workshops to equip undergraduates with the skills necessary for completion of their undergraduate studies and pursuit of their personal and career goals. The program provides students with the tools to be successful, qualified, and prepared employees of the 21st-century workforce.

Program Goals

Our Career Catalyst Program offers high-quality essential skill development tailored to address specific needs identified by employers, internship providers, and students through national research and feedback from LET’S GO students and partners. We meet students where they are, scaffolding their growth through iterative improvements in skills while providing opportunities for practical application. Our approach supports students' development through trauma-informed and culturally relevant instruction, enabling them to cultivate the skills and awareness necessary to identify, apply for, and successfully complete STEM internships.

Program Structure

This 10-week program is designed to help students develop their essential workplace skills, practice skills they are developing, and receive mentorship throughout their tenure in the program.

All sessions are virtual, and meet once per week. 1 community service project, can be done during LET’S GO sponsored events or on their own.

To be eligible, students must be currently pursuing or interested in pursuing a degree or career in any STEM field and must be able to participate in at least 80% of sessions.

LET’S GO is here because of you. As we look back on this year, we see data that shows that our efforts are working. Every metric we have – intentionally crafted to meet the needs of children from the time they begin their education to the time they enter the workforce – says we’re making a difference. Yet, we also look back on the faces, the smiles created, and the hope we see in the eyes of these children and their parents. YOU did that. YOUR generosity makes this possible. A better day exists for these kids, their families, and their communities because YOU believe in them – prompting them to believe in themselves. Your gift to LET’S GO is because your heart is driven to see the power this program can have on a student, the impact it can have in our community, and for each child, can change the world.
