Leonardo gonzalez dellan is a Venezuelan banker and entrepreneur who rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s when he became the youngest ever President of Banco Industrial de Venezuela (BIV) and the only employee to rise through the ranks from a graduate position to the very top. He managed and led BIV, then one of the largest banks in the country, through three changes of government until 2004, before stepping down to invest in and drive what would become the country’s most successful private sector industry: capital markets. By the time he left EconoInvest and followed his family to London, in 2009, he had turned it into Latin America’s leading brokerage firm, and Leonardo gonzalez dellan’s biggest private company of any kind. From his London base, Leonardo now manages investments all over the world, from start-ups to real estate, and advises businesses, individuals, and politicians on trade between Europe and Latin America. His firm belief is that Latin America and Europe are natural and under-appreciated trading partners that would both benefit significantly from opening their economies to each other.
