Once a summer getaway for the wealthy during the turn of the century, Lenox has evolved into a bucolic paradise for all who reside and visit. Surrounded by natural beauty in all seasons, Lenox continues to be a “not to be missed” destination in the Northeast and New England. With a multitude of activities every season, Lenox inevitably becomes a special place to all who visit. Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is one of the most beautiful venues in the world to attend a concert and it’s in our backyard. However, it only skims the surface of offerings in the culturally rich Berkshires–Lenox also is home to Shakespeare&Company and The Mount, Edith Wharton’scottage. For the outdoors person, there are hundreds of hiking and biking trails of all levels and lakes to swim, paddleboard and kayak as well as winter sports in every direction. Stroll and shop for unique and sophisticated art, jewelry or fashion at one of our many locally owned boutiques and galleries. Indulge in a spa experience at CanyonRanch or another day spa.
The dining options offer whatever you’re in the mood for, from a farm-to-table culinary experience to building a picnic at a Farmers market or other local food purveyor, to getting local anecdotes at a tavern. And once you’ve explored and are satiated, rest up for another day at one of our many lodging options, such as an historic inn or boutique hotel. Our calendar is bursting with events in and around downtown such as the Art Walks, Jazz Stroll, weekly music in Lilac Park from May to Oct and our annual AppleSqueeze festival in September. These events are reason enough to plan a trip to Lenox!
