Lucideon recently released an updated edition of its cross-industry reference guide which sets out details on the safe use of ceramic, glass and enamelware in contact with food. Since its original launch in 1972, the guide has provided a single point of reference for testing facilities and ceramic, glass and enamelware manufacturers. Authored by Lucideon’s technical information officer, Chris Thompson, this latest version replaces the 2022 publication and features amended entries including those required by Israel and UAE, as well as confirming existing standards. It also includes US state regulations for children’s products. Chris Thompson, who authored the guide, explains; “Regulation on release of metals from ceramicware is a minefield, with different countries adhering to different standards and limits. The Lucideon Metal Release Guide is designed to be a quick reference guide for manufacturers to point them to the relevant standards and limits for their target market.” Visit www.lucideon.com to learn more.
