CLUB NEWS
Nic Dolly
Squad additions Since our last home game, Tigers have announced two additions to the forward pack. Scotland international prop Darryl Marfo has arrived on a short-term deal and has already started training at Oval Park. The 30-year-old Marfo has had previous spells in Premiership rugby with Harlequins and Bath, as well as representing Edinburgh and Ospreys. Tigers have also announced the signing of hooker Nic Dolly from Coventry, where he scored tries in each of their opening three games in the Championship campaign. Dolly joined Sale Sharks in 2017 and spent time on loan with Sale FC, Rotherham and Jersey before moving to Coventry. After England Under-18 honours, he was part of the squad at the Under-20s Six Nations and Junior Worlds in 2019 alongside Tigers prop Joe Heyes.
Speaking about the additions, head coach Steve Borthwick said: “Daryl is an experienced player, he has played international rugby and he adds important depth to our pack. “Nic is an ambitious, hardworking player and impressive young man who we believe can add to our squad and develop his game as a member of the Leicester squad.” Dolly added: “I’m excited to be working under Steve, with all his knowledge, attention to detail and the environment he has created. It’s inevitable that you are going to develop and it’s going to be a challenge but one I’m excited about.” Sam Aspland-Robinson will join Coventry on a dualregistration contract with Tigers.
